Circle of Joy

Hello crafters!  Today's video is probably one of the shortest videos that I made (so no excuse not to watch! LOL)  I show how to use the dies to simply emboss and to cut the design on the same card.  There is a second card for you today since this one was shown during the die release blog hop in February so don't forget to scroll down to see it.

Buy from Joanna Sheen

Finished dimensions are 7 1/2 x 7 1/2" in size.

Today's second card features the Coffee Cup stamp set by Justrite for it's focal element.  I started with a piece of taupe card and stamped my sentiment in the corner in black ink.  I added a wide red panel that I embossed using the Quilted Flower embossing folder.  I made a vertical border using the small coffee bean stamp from the set by stamping it repeatedly on to taupe card.  I coloured it with Distress markers and matted it on black and taupe card.  I tied a bow out of the striped black and tan grosgrain ribbon and added a red Dazzler with the metal setting and some jute to the centre of the bow.  I cut the Beverly Hills die out of taupe card and inked it with Antique Linen before removing it.  I stamped the coffee cup twice on taupe card.  The first one, I coloured the cup and cut it out by hand.  The second one, I simply coloured the rose and cut it out and mounted it with foam on the first one. I matted the entire piece with a thin black mat before adding my double taupe mat with the pierced inner layer to complete the card.  Finished dimensions are
8" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. I love your two-fers : ) Both cards are beautiful. The video proves just how easy it is to make gorgeous cards - I wish I could use mounting foam on my body to stop it sagging! : ) Love the deep purple card, so rich and elegant. Sending my daily hug to Pam and one for anyone in need.

Love both of these cards, Sue. Thanks for the video and the inspiration to combine more dies, your background is just gorgeous. Not a stamper and definitely not a colour-er, but every card you have done with the coffee cup makes me think I should have a proper try, especially as I've had a bargain buy with watercolour markers, you wouldn't believe. Hi Sue. Morning Wilsonettes. Dull grey morning here in Bolton, but as usual, sunny and bright in Particraft world. I have the Italian decorative dies, but wont break the seal until I make our daughters wedding card. Its a beautiful card Sue and thanks for the tip regarding the pale blue pencil to highlight round the rose. I bet white on white with a little shimmer coming through the decorative centre would be stunning with a classic rose as the centre in place of the stamped rose, now I can see in my minds eye that it may work, but would it in 'real life' ?? I dont know.
I love the coffee cup stamp, its a dream to use and the stamped image is really crisp, I love to use it, and it was perfect for an order I had for a birthday card, the recipient loved coffee and had been friends with the 'customer' for 20+ yrs so as soon as I knew this, I just knew this stamp was a no brainer and just HAD to buy it, hence to say, with the coffee cup and verse that comes with it, both parties were thrilled to bits, so thanks Sue for the fab stamp : )
I love video days, but a two-fer as well, you spoil us rotten.
A little more awake today, but the weekend did knock me for 6 ! Cam glad you had a lovely catch up with your son and new daughter. TOB - in my thoughts. To all our family here that are down and fragile, I send love and hugs in hopes you pick up a little knowing you have friends at the click of a button : )

Love you

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
I love the burgundy card with the rose on it Sue. The embossing has come out a treat and looks really rich and opulent. I bought the second stamp of the coffee cup because of the it and the saying that it had on it as that is so true for my friend and i, as it is coffee first, then a daunder round the shops and back to a coffee. Although without shopmobility, it would be a coffee, a look from the seat and another coffee. Thank you for the inspiration that you give to us each day, for all off us i think you must be the highlight of the day.
Tandy flower, i am not even going to try and say that it is not hard because it is. It is perhaps a blessing that the wee ones don't understand the significance of the day, but for you and your son it is going to be hard. Take every minute how it comes, like every day you have taken this far. Please try to have a good holiday even if it is just for the wee ones sake, but remember she hasn't left without leaving love and courage behind with you. Keep her memory alive in you mind and heart and she will never be far away.
We are having a lovely day up here at the Ochil Hills. Got some of my goodies out and into the house before hubby or daughter crack up and tell me i'm not needing it. I got some of the wedding inspiration card when at the show on Sunday as it was at a great price although the ivory was £1.50 dearer than the white, but with having a couple of weddings to make for it will come in handy. Special niece is trying for July or August to get married. I exclaimed "THIS YEAR" as i near had a heart attack on the spot, but there is only about 100 during the day with an extra 150 at night, so double heart attack taking place and me thinks i will have to get in her mum, sister and her help to get everything made to match of course. As i was up seeing her "mother in law"/my friend this morning to sort her hair as she is away on holiday for the next 3 weeks to Jo'burg and Durban? i don't think she knows the wedding plans are so soon. Oh how wonderful it must be to be so in love, either that or she is making sure he doesn't get a chance to change his mind after waiting 9 yrs to get engaged.
Away i go and try and get finished in here as hubby keeps piling up the table. I just see an end in sight and he comes with more things. Take care friends and i hope to see you all tomorrow. Gentle hugs to our special friends on the blog here that need that wee bit extra thought, i hope that you have the sun shining where you are today and if not i hope it is coming from within,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Just had to come back to you Sue having watches the super video. Your attention to detail and the so explicit instructions, even just odd comments slipped in, are just invaluable to us 'to us mere mortals!!!'. Thank you so much Hugs Maureen

Hi Sue, love the cards today. I've just watched the video, it was great and I must get the dies you used.

The coffee card is really good too and the coffee stamps are more use than I realised so I've added them to my wish list.

Craftihappiness to you all, love from Pearl.

Two beauties today!!!
Have already watched the video on YouTube but will watch again.
The coffee cup stamps are lovely and I will add them to my never ending list. Always think I don't need them and then Sue does a card and I want them!!!

Sandra, hope Milo is okay after his visit to the vets, they are such a worry. My boy Ben is nearly 12 and has started with arthritis in his knee. He seemed quite miserable this morning and didn't eat his dinner but after a sleep he was ripping the post, rolling in bird poo and barking at everything that moved and he ate his dinner. I worry about him all the time.

I'm late again Sue, two gorgeous cards for us, love them both even though I can't drink coffee as it disagrees with me, I'm sure I could swap the stamp for almost anything else I have in my stash.
Well a bad day today, the foals are all doing well, even floppy and fauna, we are keeping our fingers crossed for them both, however the stallion who had a puncture wound had to have the vet today as he could no longer put his foot to the ground the vet found he had some wire wrapped around his leg and had cut it all around, he still has some sensation to the foot so we are hoping he will make it a but it's going to be a very long process and he has a lovely huge bandage on it now and seems a little more comfortable.
Lynne I'm glad the girls are making sure you are keeping the floor nice and clean. Steph it's good to hear that you are recovering, Norah keep going that table will be under there somewhere. Cameeli am so pleased you had a good catchup with you Son and do Daughter in law. Sandra I hope Milo is ok tonight. Pam big hugs to you, Tina and Tandy. Pat congratulations on on your silver, amazing, Karen and allison hope you are both well xxxx

Hi Sue,
Good Evening crafting friends.
I really needed to come to this oasis of calm after a stressful day!
First of all the most important things - the video and two cards! Thanks Sue, I love both but the second is my favourite. I have that stamp as you know - it's a favourite but have never used the coffee beans! I liked that idea a lot. Thanks for teaching us so clearly how to get full use of our dies.
Today I realised we going to have to have a new kitchen! I'm fond of this one , faults and all but too many things are breaking down , we need to do something! What an upheaval . We should have downsized while everything was working! No I don't want to go back to the sink and washboard my Grandma had. Enough, sorry!
Sandra so sorry little Milo unwell. Sorry too you had a bad night. Hope he is lots better by now. x
Lynne I may need you in the weeks ahead - you are a kitchen cleaning expert! x
Welcome Joleen, this is the best blog! It's only me that's a bit strange today!
Pam many congratulations on that Silver Medal! x
I can't remember any more - so to all who need and deserve a hug - sent!
Love to all, Myra.
Ps Love to the poorly stallion!

Hi Sue,

Well done Pam L on the success of your team at Chelsea. Cameeli my craft room is in a permanent state of looking like a bomb has hit it. I don't think it could look as lovely and tidy as Sue's if I spent a month of Sundays on it! Welcome to the blog, Joleen. Hugs to all.
