Hi my crafty friends! Since we are still doing the POTW shows I thought that I would show a few more cards from it this week. This one using the window D-Lite is one of my favourites. I cut the inside of the window in the centre of a piece of coconut white card so I had an aperture. I used the chicken wire mask and embossed the remaining part of the background around the window ( I left the insert in place so that portion did not get embossed) Then I cut the window again in white but used both the dies to give me a complete cut out window. I mounted the full window over the cut out by gluing it directly on top. Next I cut one of the Gilded gates and nipped away the two end post parts and glued them to either side of my window for a more stately appearance. I added a piece of striped silver pearl paper to the bottom of my card, with another strip of it cut to use as a border between the two sections. I tied a double bow out of silky crush and added a pearl embellishment and stick pins and added it to the side of the card at the border. I stamped my sentiment and embossed it with silver powder. I cut it into a strip with a fork on the end. Using just the dabber of the brushed pewter distress stain, I edged the forked strip. I bent it to give it a bit of shape and added it to my card using glue dots. I then cut a piece of decorative pearl patterned paper to use behind my window. I matted the piece with a thin silver mat and cut a double white border and pierced the inner layer. I added varying sizes of flatback pearls to the corners to complete my card. Great for a wedding, anniversary card or even a christening card, don't you think! Finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8" in size. All for now, Sue x
