Hi bloggers! If you are a traditionalists, look away now! LOL You may not want to see poinsettias done out of krinkly kraft paper. If you are like me, this will be right up your alley! I just love the way that flowers look out of this paper! To begin, I emboss the coconut white background with the large polka dot mask. I matted it with some kraft card and some black card. I cut several of the poinsettias from the Layered poinsettia die set and lightly inked them with black soot distress ink to highlight the krinkly kraft paper pattern. I layered them up in an offset manner and glued a black pearl in the centre. I used some of the black rhinestone swirls to give it a little flair from the corner too. I stamped my sentiment on a strip of white card. I cut one end into forks and matted it with kraft card. I used black PVA glue to dot the length of my sentiment strip as an accent. I glued one end under my flowers then placed a glue dot under the other end to give it a bit of height. I pierced the inner layer of the double white mat to complete the card. Would you have this one on your Christmas card list? All for now, Sue x

I love the embossed background and especially those crinkly poinsettias - they are so beautiful! Not sure about the sentiment, maybe a bit too massive approach to this card.

hi sue, what a fab card, I just love the fact you have cut the poinsetta in a non traditional colour. I have been cutting mine out of crepe paper, and they do look very delicate, but in traditional colours. may just have to get some kraft kard and have a go.
keep trying the non traditional!

Hi Sue
Gorgeous card I really like the unusual poinsettia's they remind me of marquetry (not sure if I spelt that right) my Dear Dad used to make pictures with slivers of all sorts of woodgrains. Think I will have to try these flowers for him as it was his anniversary last week Bless him.
Enjoy your weekend
Hugs Annx without an "e"
Not my choice Sue - I can't quite see a poinsettia in this colour sitting on my coffee table!! The design itself is lovely though and it's easy enough to change flower colours. Pat x
I am a traditionalist at heart so would prefer the usual colours but this card might just be the one to kick me into modernity. It really looks great.
Hi Sue, this is a lovely card. The design is great.....BUT I do prefer RED poinsettias (sorry can't help it) this is a nice card though. Love Sam xxx

The poinsettia's are not what I'd have thought of doing but there beautiful, need to keep the idea for next year!

Hi Sue I have tried poinsettias in most colours and love the different effects but I have not tried this, I think it works best for a mans card. None of us know how anything is going to work out until we try, your cards are always so good, do you ever have complete failures? I know I do but cannot imagine you ever having anything that is a complete flop.
Another lovely card this morning. Must look for this Kraft paper and the coconut card that you use. I must be looking in the wrong places.
Hello Sue,
I would love this one on my card list its just gorgeous.
The Poinsettia die just works in so many colours I have used Red, White and Cream (with a Pink blush added) every colour looks lovely and am now going to HAVE to try krinkly paper.
Thank you for all your ideas and inspiration.
Hope all is well with you, Love BrenLel
The crinkly craft poinsettia's don't do it for me. Im not at all sure why. The design is lovely though.
Hi Sue,
"Would you have this one on your Christmas card list?"
YES!
Frances
I am the same as Pam - wouldn't have dreamed of using krinkly paper even less that colour BUT as usual Sue, you've made a lovely lovely card - my determination to expand my imagination grows Have a cosy day Annie x
Not keen on the crinkly poinsettas but love the rest of the card. xx
What a lovely card, although i like the traditional cards i do like to mix it up a bit too, and this one is definately one i would do. love the crinkle kraft paper too. xx Gail from Eastbourne
Such an unusal color...Love it a lot!!!
A lovely card, like the colours and the black bling swirls really sets it off. Would be happy to have this on my mantlepiece! Anne
This is a great card!
I also love the poinsettias out of this paper :)
Great combo Sue - love the effect with the flowers!
I'm a traditionalist but still like this card, especially the poinsettias - I'm thinking they could be used in a non-xmasy way. I make a lot of nature cards and often in a brown/green colour-way and these would be great!
beautiful card love these poinsettias any colour they are fab.Laura O
I am a bit of a traditionalist - but I do love this card, the colours work very well and I am keeping my eyes open for the crinkly kraft paper
