Belated Birthday Wishes

Hello crafters!  Today's card was started with a piece of coconut white card and embossed with the Brambled Rose embossing folder.  I added a piece of white card to the bottom of it that I had scored thin lines on with my Scor Pal.  I cut the Matilda die in Soft Salmon as the top layer, Coral card as the middle layer and white as the base and added it across the background join line.  I used the Jocelyn die as my focal element and cut it in white.  I used Soft Salmon card to back it and added a thin frame cut out of Coral card.  I made two scrunched flowers using the Petite Forget Me Not flowers and added them with white leaves.   I used the Belated Birthday Wishes on the bottom of the card, cut out of Soft Salmon card with a coral card shadow.  The card was completed with white, coral and soft salmon mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  8 1/4" in size.

I think it is time for another question!  If you won a trip and had the choice of going anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you want to go and why?  I can't wait to see what you say!  All for now, Sue x

Good news Ann.

Good morning Sue. Skiathos Greece June 2004 our Silver Wedding Anniversary, we renewed our vows on the Saturday nearest to the date we got married and spent our actual 25th on this beautiful island. We'd had quite a 'rough' 25yrs with finance struggles, numerous miscarriages and loosing both my parents we decided that after surviving 25yrs and still being together it was worth celebrating, so that's my answer, I know you're a secretive family but where would you go ?
Today's inspiration is just beautiful Sue. The colour scheme and design is gorgeous. I had your sentiment die for valentines day and it's more useful than I can put into words so thanks you for this simple but really lovely sentiment die, and the sample behind it. Have a wonderful day you deserve it xxx

I have been on a few cruises and have seen some lovely places. I think my dream holiday would be to cruise to Australia and surprise my sister. Then spend a few weeks with her. Maybe going to Fiji or somewhere that only takes a few hours from her to have a holiday with her and my niece and nephew.

Where would I go in the world? There are some beautiful spots around the world and wonderful things to see so that is a difficult question.
Japan is a place that I would love to visit in the spring to see the wonderful cherry blossoms.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, wow salmon pink and other pinks for todays sample, how beautiful that looks, I want to try this one but my pc is still being repaired so i cannot check my spreadsheet as to whether i have the dies and embossing folders, hopefully it will be back by the weekend and then I can check, want to do this. Xx

As to the question, I have always wanted to go to Hawaii but alas finances will not allow it. It was also my late parents wish to go there, so it would be lovely to go.

Stay safe health and happy hugs June Smith xxx xxx

Well if anyone had missed my birthday I would forgive them immediately if they gave me a card like that! Unusual colour combination for you, but it works. Thank you Sue.

Well I think my all expenses paid holiday would be to Alaska to see the beautiful northern lights, something I’ve always wanted to do. Most holidays are for a few days & of course you aren’t guaranteed to see them, so this holiday would need to be longer to give myself a chance.
Well we can all dream!

Tressa said...

Lovely card. I like the change of embossing between the upper and lower parts of the background. I tend to forget how effective a scoreboard can be for this.

If I had more than just a British Teachers' pension I would go back to Alaska then fly the Pacific back to New Zealand.

Hi Sue
Beautiful card today and I love the soft salmon and coral colours you’ve used.
I went to the World Flower Show in New Zealand in 1996 and would love to go back for a holiday, the only downside is the long flight so there would have to be a stop off in Singapore on the way out and perhaps Hawaii on the way home xx Now you have to tell us where you would like to go and why.

Love and hugs to everyone

Hi Sue, a slightly unusual card today but I like it and the soft salmon and coral card is lovely.

There are still so many beautiful places in the UK that I would like to visit but with no expense spared I would love to take a leisurely journey through New England in the Fall, visit all the historic places and revel in the colours of nature.

Hi Sue. Love the salmon colour of today's card and I do like the Matilda die as the size makes it ideal for smaller cards.

As for the trip, there are too many places in the world that I would like to go it is difficult to choose. At the moment I would really love to go to some mixed media workshops which are mostly towards the north of England so that would be my choice (I am a cheap date aren't I!!!!)

Afternoon Sue, unusual colour scheme for you; but I like it. What I wouldn't give to receive a card like this.

Now then; where would I go if money was not a problem. This might seem a little trite, but I would love to use it to make a real difference to the lives of the growing number of homeless
people and those families struggling to have a good life here in England. Thankfully, I've been to some lovely places.
Hugs xx Pauline

Hi Sue,
Your card is fabulous and I love the colours, too. The Jocelyn die is gorgeous, and Matilda sets it off to perfection.
Now then, where would I go if money no object.... Whalewatching (from a small boat), and Ranthambore (tiger ) and from then on to Africa to play with elephants.
Now, you knew I'd say that, didn't you :-)
Hugs,
Rose

Mind you Sue. I've seen a massive craft shop in Australia that sells ALL your dies (a fb buddy uploaded a photo) so rather than plan a bank heist and find someone to bail me out maybe a trip down under, does all expenses cover catching up with past dies you released, if so that maybe somewhere else to consider what do you think, would it work lol xx

Hi Sue, I love the delicate colours and dies for this card.

If money was no object I would love to sail to America (not keen on flying) visit Nashville as my husband and I are Country Music Fans, my husband would love seeing all the guitar shops too, whilst he was busy I could spend lots of money in the craft shops, then a visit to Dollywood, the Grand Ole Opry, and then Gracelands, we would then have a lovely long time to relax whilst we sailed home again. Only problem with that is my husband is not keen on sailing OOOOPs!

Hi Sue

Lovely colours and pretty dies on this card.

There are so many places I would love to visit, so I’d have to be greedy and say a world cruise to see as much as possible. Or perhaps a cruise around the Caribbean taking in lots of smaller islands that you wouldn’t go to for a week or too....but I’d love to go to America too, and a trip to see the Northern lights would be great. I’m not sure I’d enjoy Japan, but would love to see the blossom.....a very difficult question for me.

Ann, so glad you’re hubby is on the mend. X

Fantastic card and in one of my favourite colours. This also shows why I love square dies so much as using the different orientations give them such different looks.

I have been lucky enough to travel to most continents though I don't do cold. I would still love to go to the Galapagos Islands though I would need a lot of help getting in and out the boats to reach them now. We love nature and this would be a real dream for both hubby and I.

What would your dream destination be Sue. You must tell us.

Didn’t have time to look in yesterday but a beautiful card. As for the question - that’s a really difficult one since I am very fortunate to have travelled to all continents and to most countries.
