Orphan Cards

Hi crafters!  It is the last day of the year and it is also my annual post for my "orphan" cards.  You often hear me say that I really liked this card or that card in one of my posts, but these are my least favourite cards of the year!  I can't really say why, but they just did not sing to me when I finished them!  Sometimes it was just the colour wasn't what I expected or they were too much or even too boring.  Everyone has their favourite cards and sometimes they just don't turn out like we thought they would.  These are mine!  I'm sure there were more, but I think I just didn't take any photos of some of them!  And, even though they are my least favourite cards, they are still getting a day on the blog.  I would love to hear what your comments are about them.  Do you think any don't belong here?  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue.
Thank you so much for all the posts, and inspiration.
They maybe orphans, but they are all lovely too.
I wish you and all the Wilsonettes, a very happy healthy and wealthy new year, Kitty.

Morning Sue from the cottage in the middle of nowhere surrounded by fields and big sky so looking forward to sunrise.
You must have had a better year as there are fewer in your orphan collection than last year - maybe your getting better lol. Let's just say I make more orphan cards in a month lol. The very first 'thanks' white black and red, the skyline and get well soon are beautiful Sue, and the rest its probably just the colour scheme that doesn't smile but I have to say there will be something here that makes us all smile.
This past year has been full of inspiration, changes and lots of outstanding new dies and you work so hard from the start to the end of the year to bring us the tools to help us make people happy. Your work makes me happy so I have one final word this year, I'm so looking forward to 2019 and spending time here to learn more and and smile more. Thank you for a wonderful year and I hope you are rewarded for all your hard work. Have a lovely day wherever you are whatever your plans xxx

Far fewer here in your orphan cards than there usually are. We all like different cards more or less than others and yes there are some here that are not my favourites ,but about half I would move to non orphan cards.

Hello Sue not as many poor orphan cards as usual but they deserve to be on the blog. Sometimes when leaving a card and go back later it just needs a little extra or a bit less. Yours are all fine. Thank you for your dedication and inspiration over the last year. Enjoy your day one and all xx

Hello Sue and all
Oh I wish my disappointments looked half as good as these samples Sue. Particularly the city skyline on the triptych star background and the alcohol ink background (?) on the aged to Perfection frame card.
Thank you Sue for a year of inspiration, generosity and all your hard work. Happy new year to you and your family and to all of the Lovely Wilsonettes and families on this amazing blog,
Hugs

I really like the miss you card, know what you mean when you think some of your cards don't hit the spot for you, I often think I can't send this it isn't what I intended when I look at a card I've made. Glad it's not just me

Hi Sue, you may call these cards “orphan” card#, but they are all still lovely cards and it is good that you show them to us. One person might nit like a certain card but someone else might love the same one. Happy New Year Sue.

Good morning Sue,
I think that if seven cards are the only 'orphans' out of ALL the cards you make in a year then you've done very well. Each card has its merits and appeal but I can understand, as I often find myself, that the finished design doesn't always live up to our expectations. Thank you for sharing. X

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, I am surprised that these have not had an airing before as the concept for them al is great, some of the colours to me are not compatible with the ef or die but that can easily be rectified by using a different colour scheme, however to actually own a Sue Wilson original is like owing a Rembrandt so don't put yourself down over this. My favourite is the 1st one with the squares.

Wishing you a very safe, healthy and Happy New Year xxx

Hello Sue, it is always a pleasure each day to look at your cards whether they be orphans or not. I agree with others that perhaps a change of colour would make a difference to some. My favourite of these is the skyline.
Wishing you, your family and all on the blog a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Hello Sue,

As one year ends and another is about to start, I would also like to say thank you for all the inspiration and talent that you have shared with us on a daily basis. Your dies and your videos makes card making so much fun and I really enjoy your appearances on Hochanda even though they seem to be fewer. I marvel with each release how clever you are with your designs and how you always come up with something new and different. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us for 2019. I sure it will be exciting.

I have to say that your orphans look pretty good and are very adoptable.

Have a wonderful New Year's Eve Sue and everyone who follows this blog. Just remember not to drink and drive.

See you in 2019.

Hi Sue. I know what you mean about some cards. It is true that sometimes I make a card that I am not happy with, however other people love it. Sometimes they are just missing something, for example, I am sure that the skyline card would be improved with the addition of a circular frame. There are still bits of the cards that I would use in the future.

Hope you and all the Wilsonettes have a very Happy New Year and I look forward to all your crafty creations again next year.

Good morning Sue and all Wilsonettea.
Thank you for showing us your orphans Sue although half of them don't deserve the title. There isn't a single card that doesn't have at least some merit. Also I would be over the moon if I had so few orphans as I can have that many in a Month never mind a year.
I would like to wish you and all your followers a very HAPPY NEW YEAR and that the New Year continues to showcase 'Our Sue' on a daily basis.

Good Morning Sue. All wonderful cards in their own way this morning Sue. We are all human and even the best crafter.... like yourself......will have projects they are not happy with. But.... we are not all the same.... what doesn't appeal to one... will please another. So this morning for all your lovely cards.... I give them all 10 out of 10. At least you finish yours..... I have a box with only half made cards that didn't look good from the start lol. May be one day a flash idea will come along and they just might get finished. I wish you... your family.... and all our lovely bloggers a very Happy New Year. Sending best wishes to everyone. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds

Hi Sue, I'm so glad there are less orphans this year as it means that you have been much happier with all the cards that you have shown to us. I think the city skyline should not be an orphan but agree with Lisbeth that it would maybe benefit from a circular frame. I also really like numbers one and five.

Happy New Year to our Australian contingent as you have already reached it - I hope you didn't get too wet in the downpour that I have just heard about. I will save my greetings for the UK and the States until tomorrow :-)

Ah, I, too, made those cards that just don't turn out like I think they should. Most of the time, I set them aside and come back to them another day. Many times they look better to me after I get away from them for awhile. It is amazing to me that you only have a few orphans with all the card designs you make to inspire us crafters throughout the year. Wishing you a blessed and Happy New Year.

They are all lovely, definitely nothing wrong with them, they would at some stage be perfect for some occasion or another, I can see that....Those sort of cards you put in a box and when you need one you will look at them in a different light, we all have those moments, but believe me they do find a home at some stage....So pleased you took them out to show us....Hope you are going to have a good time tonight, enjoying whatever you are doing...I wish you a very happy and healthy 2019, please continue with your good work, I just love all your inspiration every day, my No.1 blogger....lots of love Ursula xx
