Heartfelt Thanks

Hello crafters!  I used the decorative die from the Swiss border to cut into the card in a square orientation.  The corners all overlapped so were cut away completely due to the overlap.  Next I placed a sticky adhesive sheet on the back and turned it over and rubbed Diamond Sprinkles into the exposed sticky areas.  I peeled the other side of the backing paper off and added Blue Dusk card to it.  Next I cut four of the corners in white and backed them n Blue Dusk card.  I added these with mounting foam to cover the cut out corner areas.  I cut the outer ring in the Geneva set in black card and added it to the centre of the card with foam.  I cut the Zurich die in blue and tucked the top and bottom area into the lip of the Geneva die.  I stamped my sentiment and covered it with a sticky adhesive piece.  Using the smaller die in the Zurich, I cut a frame for the sentiment.  I used the slightly larger centre from the Bern die to add a black shadow edge to the frame.  I seated it with foam over the sentiment, then glittered the sticky adhesive area with Diamond Sprinkles.  I added it to the centre of the card.  Matching white, blue and black mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Such a gorgeous card Sue, wish I had a little of your ideas buzzing in my head.
Tina, whatever card you give Mum she will love. Glad Mick had better day yesterday and cuddles from twins. We will be here as long as you need us.
Elaine, Andrews holiday will do him good, a touch of normality after all the ill days, hope he does get the fishing in, so relaxing for him. You know we will be rooting for him.
Tracey, Hun, you are doing so well, remember all at your own pace.
Steph, hope you are feeling a little better each day.
Hugs to all, I'll, sad or just wanting a hug, especially missing friends.

Hi Sue. Heartfelt thanks seems an ideal sentiment to return to you for the daily inspiration you show us, for designing the tools to allow us to put your ideas in place, and to help our talents and confidence grow. You listen to our ideas and requests when we ask for certain dies and folders etc, not many designers do that from what I can tell. Up until a year ago or so most of us dreaded being asked for cards for the male species, but being a crafter yourself you have read our likes and dislikes and made it so much easier for us when asked for awkward cards/gifts as so many of your collections and designs can be used so easily for those cards we didn't find easy to do. You have also helped us to adapt your inspiration and helped us see other uses for your dies by using and 'separating' your dies (sounds kinder than snipping) lol so all of the above have made us better crafters or we are on the way to becoming more confident with what we do. I saw the most beautiful card yesterday and the only die that was used was one of your very first border designs and by using the full border then parts of to build up the design to the main focal element, it was absolutely brilliant, it couldn't have been made so beautifully if it wasn't for your knowledge and design abilities.today's sample could be used for many occasions and for any gender and that's what we have to thank you for.
I'm looking forward to getting back into my little craft room to use my new 'bravery awards' but one step at a time as the saying goes.
Wishing you a lovely day xx

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a really lovely card has greeted us today, where do you get your inspiration from, I wish I could design cards like this but then again without your fantastic dies and stuff then we would not be able to make them would we.

Got to go with hubby this morning to have his wisdom tooth out, he has been in so much pain since last Thursday, on antibiotics and pain killers, the tooth is dead but the infection has gone into his jaw - he has hardly had any sleep, just like cat naps, me too so I will be glad when he is on the mend.

Sending lots of special hugs to Tina, Mick, Elaine, Andrews (have a good holiday), Tracey, and Steph

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Remember you demoing this card Sue and I loved it then.
Seems I didn't comment yesterday, don't know why as I felt so alone yesterday a visit to the blog might have cheered me. I did get to the craft table and made four cards, shock horror none of them used Sue's dies! Trying to remedy that today.
Anyway June I hope your husband recovers quickly from his dental ordeal.
Tina, I hope you had good news regarding your hubbies prostate.
Such a worry for you both, hugs.
Maria, don't worry I am taking the drug reduction very slowly. Unfortunately I can feel the difference so wonder if I should persevere.
I hope the weather is kind to Andrew and his family.
I hope Mick's pain is under control very soon.
Love to Tracy.
My mood is quite low at the moment which I am sure is a lot to do with our bank being naughty trying to hold on to money it has no right too. I feel so guilty for the mess we got in which my brain knows wasn't only my fault but my emotions are not so pragmatic.
Going to try and lose myself in Sue's world, love to you all xxx

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

I remember this particular card from your recent shows and I was intrigued by your method of concealing the messy corners, ingenious and something that wouldn't have immediately occurred to me to do. It is so beautifully intricate with just the right amount of bling to satisfy and shows us something different to do with our borders. The focal element is also scrumptious, a really cool card and I thoroughly enjoyed your demo of it on Hochanda:-)
Well, I thought today would see me bikini clad and scaring the neighbours again, the day started off promisingly enough but by lunchtime the clouds had descended and my day in the sun became a pipe dream....that's Scotland for you! And to add insult to injury, the sun had the bare faced cheek to appear as I was about to prepare dinner and has remained all evening:-( It's Sod's law I guess, and at least it hasn't rained:-)
After two months of inertia I finally did a spot of crafting:-) Not Cardmaking as such, just a bit of stamping and colouring with my artists pencils....you see, I had promised a certain someone from Croydon that I would venture into my craftroom last weekend......and didn't! So feeling suitably guilt ridden after our conversation yesterday I cleared the gathering dust and rooted out my stamps and pencils for a relaxing play. I've had these pencils for about 18 months and they have remained unloved in their boxes....well, no more! Colouring can be very therapeutic but I tend to be very self critical and want to produce a Monet rather than a crude copy of a five year olds efforts....Nevermind, baby steps, practise makes perfect and such like:-).....Yvonne will be impressed, and now it's her turn....I'm still waiting for that birthday card lady!
Tracy my love, you made my day! It gladdens my heart to realise that I can bring a little sunshine into your life, particularly right now:-) Though, in saying that, I can't imagine what you would find amusing about my posts, them being so serious and heartfelt and such:-) hugs to you sweet ladyxx
Tina, I do hope that your husbands appointment went well and that there is nothing to be concerned about.
Elaine, so glad Andrew is letting his hair down and enjoying himself, where is the caravan stationed?
Lorraine, hope things pick up for you soon honey, sending hugsxxxx
Maria, yep, it's only about six weeks now and I'm starting to get jittery about my trip....can anything really prepare me from the trauma a week with Yvonne represents? After her recent tv appearance she has became insufferable, expecting special treatment and the like. I've told her demanding an appearance fee to turn up at Ally Pally is going too far.....:-)
June, hope your hubby feels better after his dental appointment, having had a bad infection myself I can fully sympathise with the poor soul because pain killers only work for short bursts and it's excruciating at night. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.
Yvonne, call yourself Sues greatest fan and you can't even be bothered commenting all weekend? It's a disgrace! You need to buck you ideas up girl and get your priorities straight:-)
Cuddles to Beth, pat, Pam, P, Theresa, Frances, Rebecca, Jan, Wheely bad, Linda, and anyone I've neglected to mention or would simply like a hugxxx

Evening Sue
Oh my word, beautiful. When you demoed this card on Hochanda I was completely transfixed. It was fascinating watching the way you 'made good' the mess you had made in the corners. Lol x
Seriously you are just so clever and watching the magic happen whilst you perform is so wonderful. With every card you create you always get it so right and for that I admit I am envious. There are so many times when I think of a creative idea and when my artistic jewel is complete I always feel the disappointment as it never turns out to be quite the paragon of beauty I had pictured. The solution, obviously, is to use the daily inspiration which you share with us so munificently. Thanks Sue x
Apologies for my absence folks. Due to an abundance of social engagements last week I was completely drained and just had to try and let the fatigue pass. So frustrating. Anyway, fingers crossed nothing much planned this week so I am willing and hopefully able to comment every day x
Interesting day. It began with a kitcen full of ants which I managed to sort. Then as I took some recycling out (food), I was greeted by maggots having a party in the recycling bin. I know - yuk. So rubber gloves, boiling water, anti bacterial spray and I waged a war on the nasty little suckers. It took a while but we won in the end. They say these things come in threes and in this case it was true. My screaming neighbour (and boy can she howl), needed help with a mouse in her garage. Once again hands securely robed in rubber, it was Superhero Yvonne to the rescue. How nice am I??!!! Lol x
I am truly hoping that any contact with living beings tomorrow will be restricted to the human variety, oh and the dog x
Tina - I am glad that Mick's appetite continues to grow. How are you doing? Sending big hugs to you both x
Lorraine - sorry you had such a down day yesterday. The blog is such a tonic and you know that your blog buddies are here for you. Huggles x
Tina T - routing for your hubby. Lots of love x
June - I hope your hubby is OK. Hugs x
Elaine - Andrew has got his own harem. Tell him to enjoy it. Lol. I hope you are keeping a diary of the activities be they human or feline. Hang in there. I know only too well how frustrating it can be. Sending you hugs x
Annie - I know I am a little late but I hope your daughter is recovering and well x
Pam - you are our special bird!! Our always early bird. Lol. Hugs x
Maria - please take no notice of Laine's incessant whining. Her constant need to be centre of attention is so tiresome. I will look forward to spending time with you at Ally Pally to bring some well needed respite to my traumatic perseverance of her company on the days preceding the event. Lol. Hugs x
Tracy - it is hardly surprising you are still feeling emotional. You just need to take things slowly. You are brilliant and doing so well. Big hugs x
Laine - you're right. I am relatively impressed by your brief connection with your inner crafting goddess. However it doesn't count. I challenged you to find your way to your craft room last weekend. For the record, my position of number 1, top of the tree, favourite Wilsonette is due to my unquestionable intellect, outstanding beauty, captivating conversation and inner radiance. This all comes naturally and with Sue's obvious impeccable judgement it is hardly surprising that I am in pole position. Suck it up girl x
Wheely and P sending you hugs and hope you are OK.
Well after fighting with the local wildlife I think I need to get some sleep. Sending everyone lots of love and happy thoughts.
