Love You

Good morning crafty friends!  If you were able to tune in early Monday morning, you saw the demo on this card (after we got past the video they had to use because of the IT issue!)  I really wanted to spend a bit more time on the demo and talk about some of the different ways to achieve the same effect, but it was a bit of a rush to get it all finished with the delayed start to the show.  On air, I used the Cosmic Shimmer Lava Red mister with my shaving foam, but you can use a variety of other types of ink products with this technique.  Dye based re-inkers work a treat, as well as any mister, but avoid alcohol inks.  I won't go into a detailed explanation here but there is a step by step tutorial showing how to do the shaving foam technique at the top of my blog.  Just click on the link.  Once you have finished that portion, then make sure your piece has been wiped clean of any residue of the shaving foam (if it feels damp, you a heat tool on it briefly), then cover your piece with a sticky adhesive sheet.  Press any air bubbles out that may be there, then peel off the backing paper and cover with clear micro beads for a completely different look to your piece.  I matted it with red card to give it some definition from my white background.  I cut a larger white mat and stamped the heart stamp all around the edge using a clear perfect medium pad.  I heat embossed the edge with white powder for a tone on tone look.  I stamped my sentiment from Justrite stamps and cut it out with the heart from the Timeless amour set.  I edged the heart with fired Brick distress ink and mounted it up with some foam pieces.  I glued the decorative edge from the heart flat to the micro beaded background.  I pierced around the edges with my piercing ruler to complete my card.   I think this would look lovely done with a silver or a pearl mister to make a wedding card, don't you think?!  Finished dimensions are 8" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Have just watched three end to end shows. What fabulous shows! Great demos and great cards. We have some treats ahead on your blog and very soon I will have the dies and stamps. (and I'd really promised myself to be good...)
Such a lot of work goes into your shows. Thank you

I really did love this card on TV when you demoed it Sue, and the photo is equally stunning. If only the show had been before Valentines day, John would have had a better card, but maybe a rougher shave!!!

Thanks, Susan

Just love the marbled effect on this card! I'm so going to find your tutorial on this technique & have a go. I'd never heard of it before. I know you did this post a while back, but I've been going through some old ones I missed when I was ill. Claire x
