Sage And Peach Petticoat Card

Hi bloggers!  You have had channel cards, buckle cards and now my other favourite to do, petticoat cards!       Or at least, that is my name for the cards that I do with multiple borders peeking out from under each other.  I used the Justrite stamps Embroidered background and matching embroidered borders for most of today's card.  I picked peach and sage green for the card, an unusual colour choice for me, but I thought it would look nice embossed in white.  I stamped the background with a clear perfect medium pad and white embossed it.  I left space on either side to attach my borders later.  Next I stamped and cut out six of the embroidered borders, four out of sage green and two out of peach.  I used the edgeability scallop cutting edge to cut one side of all the borders.  I glued them to the sides of my background, slightly overlapping them and bending the scalloped edges upward.  Next I stamped the lace medallion stamp on sage card and embossed it with white powder.  I used the two largest sizes of the medallion dies to cut a narrow frame and mounted it with thin foam pieces over the stamped lace medallion.  I trimmed away the excess card so none of it showed from behind my frame.  On peach card, I stamped the small frame from the Always and Forever set using a black archival ink pad.  I cut it out with the matching oval nested medallion die and layered it with foam in the centre of my frame.  I stamped the smallest frame from the same set and white embossed it.  I stamped my tiny sentiment in the centre with a black archival ink pad and cut it out with the small medallion die and layered it up to complete my focal element.  Using small pieces of the leftover card (and there wasn't much leftover!), I tore small circles and scrunched them.  I used a bit of Antique Linen around the edges to distress them and glued them together.  I glued a small pearl in the middle of each of the flowers.  I tied a messy bow out of white seam binding and attached it and my flowers around my centre feature.   I only pierced the top and bottom sides on my mat to complete the card.  I was really happy with how it came out, which was really nice because it wasn't a quick card this time!   Finished dimensions are  5 1/2" x 8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

I really do like the colours scheme for today and the format of the is also a favourite. It's such a delicate card even with the scrunched flowers and I cannot imagine anyone receiving this not liking it. I can see it also being adapted for a male themed card - without the flowers of course.
