Morning all! I should be just about touching down back in the UK as this post goes live. I am looking forward to being back home, but I will miss my Mom and the Florida sunshine too. I have a bunch of shows in March and a trade show in February to keep me busy though. Back to Kraft card in it's purest form today. I love black, kraft and white, it just always looks great to me. I simply stamped the lace medallion all over my kraft card using a black archival ink pad. I used the middle die in the Resplendent Rectangles to cut an aperture in the centre. Next I stamped the lace background on another piece of kraft card using a perfect medium pad. I heat embossed it with white powder. This gave me the background for the area behind my aperture. I covered a piece of white card with a sticky adhesive sheet and cut a frame from the Resplendent Rectangles this time. I peeled the backing paper off and covered the frame with clear micro beads. I then cut a larger frame out of black card and glued my beaded frame to it. I mounted both pieces around my aperture to create a framed central focal element. I used foam pads to raise my frame above the opening. Next I stamped my sentiment from the With Gratitude set by Justrite and cut it out with the matching dies. I softly inked it while in the die with antique Linen distress ink. I mounted this piece on foam and placed it in the centre of my aperture opening. I added a double black mat and pierced the inner layer. I easily could have added more embellishments, flowers, ribbon, etc., but I like the clean simple look to this and it could easily be used for either gender that way. Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x

Like this card with all the textured interest - micro beads and super embossing. Must get some stamps as I only have a couple of giveaway ones and can't really try your techniques. Welcome back to good old wintery UK!.

Hope your flight was a safe one-you should have brought your mum back with you although maybe she would prefer to wait for warmer weather!! Not so sure about the card-i think the cards are a little too dark for me also but i suppose that is easily changed,take care,x.

morning Sue from a snowy Burgundy today. I too love kraft card and black/white is the perfect medium for it. These rectangles are waiting for me back in the UK so I am really looking forward to using them. Have you noticed how microbeads glow in the dark or low lighting? They look beautiful in full light but certainly give a very different and almost romantic atmosphere in low light. Janet x

I enjoy using distress inks on the kraft card, as well as teaming it up with milk card for a softer effect. You always manage to bring us fresh ideas and this card is yet more inspiring work. Love the lace effect especially with the micro beads - great dimension. Sorry sue left today's message on yesterday's card by accident. Was just saying how this is ideal for both men and women this card and how much I love it. It's truly stunning and I know lots of people who would love this card both gay and straight, male and female. The resplendent rectangles is one of my gave spellbinders sets, and this card shows them off beautifully. Love all the different apertures, and the lace stamping is wonderful. Maddy x
Absolutely gorgeous!!! Love the lace stamp, it is so realistic. I am a fan of kraft card and love the colour combination, its not too dark for me but then I am a vintage/victorian/shabby chic fan and this is right up my street.

How do you get your stamping/embossing so perfect with such intricate stamps? Is it down to the quality of the stamp or the powder or is it simply mad stamping skills?!

I'm always unsure what to do with my kraft card, so it's nice to see how feminine it can look with the use of the lace stamps. i like to effect of using the black and the white inks on the different areas. thanks again for the inspiration!!

Was just saying how this is ideal for both men and women this card and how much I love it.

Absolutely gorgeous!!! Love the lace stamp, it is so realistic. I am a fan of kraft card and love the colour combination, its not too dark for me but then I am a vintage/victorian/shabby chic fan and this is right up my street.
Another beautiful card. I love the simplicity of kraft card teamed with such delicate designs.
How do you get your stamping/embossing so perfect with such intricate stamps? Is it down to the quality of the stamp or the powder or is it simply mad stamping skills?!
I think the majority of my small stamp collection are the "free with magazine" type - is that the problem?
