Wednesday Weekly Card GIveaway

Hello there my crafty friends!  Today's card giveaway is one of the demos from my last shows on Hochanda.  I started by cutting the decorative die from the Poppy die set twice across a piece of coconut white card.  I backed it with a sticky adhesive sheet attached to a piece of white card.  I used Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz on all the remaining exposed adhesive for a bit of a bling to my background.  Next I cut another Poppy die in white and nipped it in half so I could use the corners.  I cut it again in wisteria card and backed it in white, then cut the centre of it out.  I added mounting foam to the back then attached the cut Poppy die so just the corners were sticking out from behind.   I attached this to the centre of the card and recessed down into the oval the middle section of the Poppy die cut in white and backed in wisteria.  I cut it one more time and attached it but left the floral element unattached and lifted it up a bit.   I made a 3D flower by cutting just the large flower from the oval a couple of times and nipping it out to use.  I inked it lightly with Shaded Lilac distress ink and glued it back into place on top of the flower in the oval.  I cut the Happy Mothers day from the Springtime Frame die set and glued it into place (I needed to nip away a few bits of the flowers to make it fit).  White and wisteria mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  9 1/2" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be entered into the drawing to win this card.  All for now, Sue x

Happy Easter

Hello bloggers!  Since it will be upon us in a few weeks,  I thought I had better share an Easter card with you.  As it is, you will probably be subjected to both Easter and Mother's Day cards after the fact! LOL   I started this one by embossing a piece of coconut white with the Tartan Trellis embossing folder.  Next I cut the Happy Easter Egg die in three colours, blue, yellow and purple.  I cut three of the outer egg shape out of white card with sticky adhesive sheets on them, then peeled the backing off and added the sentiments and glittered the remaining part with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz.  I cut a decorative scalloped backing for each and added matching bows and mounted them with foam across the card.  I couldn't help by add several of the little chicks like they were scurrying across the card.  White on white mats and layers completed the card.  The finished dimensions are 5 3/4" x  11" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Love Blooms Here

Good Sunday morning all!  Today's card started from an idea that I had to make a floral spray and use the die cut as it's holder!  I started by using the decorative outer shape from the Julia die to cut a design into the background piece of milk card. I randomly cut it all over and then backed it with a piece of vellum.  Next I cut another Julia die using the outer cutting edge.  I added a bunch of flowers cut from the Sunflower Bouquet die set and attached them to their stems and created a bouquet, wrapping the Julia die around it.  I tied it with a piece of silk ribbon and attached it to the left side of the card.  I cut my sentiment from the Life Is A garden die set and attached it to the centre of the Julia cut area using the circle to raise it for dimension.  Milk mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8" in size.

Fabulous Day

Hello crafters!  Today's card showcases the Michelle die set and the Chantilly Lace edger.  I started by cutting the decorative die from the Michelle die into a piece of Blue Dusk card.   Next I cut two of the Chantilly Lace Edger thin borders into the top and bottom of the card.  I extended both of them so they went the length of the card.  I backed the card in white so it showed through all the detail in the Michelle die and the edger dies.  Next I cut two of the larger die from the Chantilly Lace edger set.  I used two pieces of white card together to cut them so that the top one cut all the way through and the bottom one really only cuts through the outline.  So I teased the outline die out (sometimes you have to use your scissors in spots) and then glued it on to the edger as a backing.  I did both of them, then glued them on to the left and right sides of the card.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with the centre die from the Michelle die set and mounted it with foam in the middle of the card.  I made a tiny flower with the centres from the Passion Flower die set and glued it into the centre of a satin ribbon bow.  I mounted the bow to the corner of the Michelle die.  I added flatback white pearls to the edges and middle die as accents.  White and Blue Dusk mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x
