Thanks

Hi there my crafty friends! I have a card and something to share with you today too (at the bottom of the post!)  A classic navy and white colour combo for today's card.  I embossed a coconut white piece of card using the Dot Matrix Pinpoint embossing folder for texture.  Next I cut the Ornamental Accent die five times in French Navy card and backed them with white card.  I nipped off the end of the dies, keeping just the top part and arranged the in a border across the over portion of the card.  For the focal element, I cut the outer portion of the Geneva die in white, adding mounting foam to the back of the frame.  I used the inner die to cut a decorative background in navy card and seated the frame over it.  I stamped my sentiment, cut it with the oval  and then seated it over the smallest die in the set cut in white to give it a decorative frame.  I added a blue poppies around the frame and white Lace Edged leaves as accents to them.  The card was completed with white and navy mats.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/2" in size.

When we had our big wholesale trade show (called Stitches) last weekend and they announced the annual Craft awards.   I am pleased to announce that I was the recipient of the Crafts Beautiful award for Best Craft Blog!  I am very excited to have received this award and wanted to thank all of you that took the time to vote.  It means the world to me.  Here is a pic of the framed award for you to see!  All for now, Sue x

Beautiful card Sue, perfect for a miserable Friday morning. Congratulations on the award, truly well deserved and it is the best blog ever
Helen, hope your op went well and that you are not too sore. I'd give you a hug but might hurt you so blowing a kiss.
Elaine, I hope Andrews treatment went well. It is natural for him to be nervous after he has been well fit a few days. Soon he will be well all if his days when this is all over. Thinking if you all.
Pat and Tracey, so very glad you had a good meet up, Graeme is such a star.
Carmen, I haven't been to the USA for 4 years, the last time was the year before Tim died but George came over here 3 years ago. After Robbies accident they won't travel too far from him but he is so independent he just gets on with still, still his parents worry as we all do.
Lynda, hope you are well Hun, I missed you.
June I also thought if tic tacs as they do a few flavours in different flavours.
Big hugs to all our blog family, hope our missing friends are doing well.
Special thoughts to Tina E and family.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh what a delightful card for today, love it and the colours yes, love it.

The biggest congratulations hug I can send you is coming your way Sue for winning best craft blog, what a fantastic achievement and so well deserved, chuffed to bits for you.

Pam your suggestions about the tic tacs is really good, I put the skittles in the card this morning but they are a little bit too big so I will go out and see if I can find some different flavoured ones and try the tic tacs, I am sure they will definitely work. What a joy it was making the candy machine, I have got to make some more.

Thinking of you Helen, Elaine, Andrew, Tina and anyone else I have forgotten.

Still bubbling over with joy for you Sue.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Well well well, at long last, recognition you so deserve Sue, CONGRATULATIONS. When I add my vote to these awards I can only hope I am just one of many thousands that hope and pray you are recognised and rewarded for the continuous work you put into your blog, all the samples, organising scheduled posts during your holidays, craft shows etc, trying to make sure it runs smoothly, but most of all you so deserve this award for all the inspiration and help given with our projects, although I have learnt so much from you I have so much more to learn and I know I will continue to grow all thanks to you and your wonderful blog and other members from the team. So I'm really thrilled to bits for you Sue - about bloomin time lol.

Elaine, I do so hope Andrew managed to get his treatment yesterday.

Also thinking of Andrew, with yet another round of treatment.
Pat and Tracy, sounds like a lovely meet-up.

Congratulations, Sue! We are so proud of you! It's an honor to be part of this blog. And besides that, you give us inspiration, skills and delight daily. I can't imagine that you had any real competition, because who's better than you? Who else designs beautiful, graceful and versatile dies, then shows multiple ways to use them beautifully, illustrating with photos and recipes that name the dies used, or videos that name the dies, and does this every day of the year plus gives incentives and answers every email and creates an atmosphere where followers develop lasting friendships? Nobody! You're the only one! Plus every entry is archived and can be searched by die set for ideas on how to use that set. You're just amazing. Plus, the kinetics!
About Friday's entry, I'm surprised you didn't turn the whole thing 90 degrees and use the ornamental accents like a vertical line of hearts. That's what they look like to me, and I wondered why they were sideways.
Echoing Pam's comments.
Speaking of the Grand Canyon (Well, echoes reminded me of it, and Pam's nephew wants to go there): I got a postcard Thursday from my sister, who lives in the Philadelphia area and also visited Dad while he was in Arizona. She mailed it from the bottom of the Grand Canyon. The U.S. Post Office there is the only Post Office still served by mule. A hand-cancellation of the stamp says, "Mailed by mule at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, Phantom Ranch." She hiked down with rented backpacking gear and stayed two nights, one night camping just off the trail as she hiked back up.
And no, I won't be finding my craft room very soon because I've also lost my kitchen sink and finding that takes precedence so I don't starve while crafting.
Best of weekends to everyone. Hello Helen, if you can look but not comment. We're cheering for you! And cheers also for Andrew! Last treatment, only healing ahead.
Love,
Donita in R.I., almost a neighbor to Carmen in Toronto.

Love this card. I love the French Navy Blue color with the white so off to a good start. I have the Geneva die which I use a lot and I have the poppy die set on my wish list. I also like the embossing folder you used. I have noticed you using it a lot lately and it catches my attention. I have a harder time finding them in the US but will look for it. I only have your snow folder so an area of my collection that needs improvement.
Everyone, have a wonderful weekend!

CONGRATULATIONS SUE,

I was so happy to see that you had won this award. It's very well deserved and it's about time the rest of the world knows what we know - that you are absolutely the BEST and that your blog is fabulous. I don't remember how I first learned about your blog but it was a couple of years ago and you are the one who started me making cards. Your blog and the cards that you show us daily have given me so much inspiration and encouragement to do better each day. And your videos are so informative with your helpful tips and tricks. My purse is a little emptier, but I am so happy that I have found something that I love doing and also brings a little joy to my friends.

Today's card is just lovely. The colors are perfect and the design is just another example of your fantastic creativity.

Have a wonderful day and be proud of yourself.

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a fantabulous card, a real treat for the senses. I love the navy and white colour combo, very nautical yet sophisticated at the same time. The Geneva die is simply gorgeous, i love the pierced detailing, it's very effective. Who would have thought poppies would look so cool in navy blue, but they really do. Another great card Sue to get our creative juices flowing, many thanksxxx
Huge congratulations on winning the accolade of Best Blog at the Crafts Beautiful Awards, it was very well deserved and i cant think of a nicer, kinder, more humble recipient:-) I voted in the hope that you would finally get the recognition you deserve, this blog...thanks to all of your hard work...is THE best blog on the planet bar none. It gives me and countless others pleasure and happiness on a daily basis and i cant thank you enough for taking the time to create such beautiful, inspirational designs each and every day for our benefit. You are such a special lady and i am so pleased and excited for you, enjoy your time in the spotlight because you really are a true superstar!:-)
Oh ladies, i am sadly just a tad exhausted this evening but i just had to share my happiness and best wishes to Sue on her Award. Ive had such a hectic day being pampered beyond belief with a Caci facial, professional wash and blow dry and a little bit of retail therapy thrown in afterwards.....i would normally take all of this in my stride but i feel really run down of late and just so tired all of the time, think the beginning of Spring may perk me up though hopefully:-)
P, cant comment without sending loads of love and kisses to you and little Harry, thinking of you both and hoping that he is okayxxx
Helen, hope you are recovering well after your operationxxx
Elaine, hugs to you and Andrew, Helen is his rock and has been a true star through his treatment, hope the after effects are minimal this timexxx
Carmen, oooh you are awful...but i like it, and i think we may have a lot in common:-) I've heard Toronto is a great city to live in, both my Uncles live there...and no, I'm not angling for an invite BUT.....if you're offering.......:-)
Pam, sending you special hugs for all that you do for us each morningxxx
Tina T&NannaTina, sending you both cuddles, hope you are alright?
Saba and Myra, i sense trouble brewing when you eventually meet up in April, all that cheek will have consequences for someone.....:-)
Yvonne, how very dare you! Blown off because you have a dinner date??!!? Talking to me should be the highlight of your week so this is no way to behave! I think we will be having words young lady......xxx
Cuddles to all my besties, including Maureen, Pat, Lynda, Wheely, Norah, Tracy, Frances, June, Deb C and Alison, plus hugs to anyone who needs onexxx

Hi Sue,

Congratulations on winning the best Craft blog award! So well deserved! Even I am new on the blog I felt so welcome from the very beginning. And I learned so much from you! It is the best blog ever, as Pam said when I joined this blog. I totally agree with June that we have a lovely blog family here and its all thanks to you, Sue.

Beautiful card Love the colors. The embossed coconut white piece of card using the Dot Matrix Pinpoint embossing folder for texture is a winner. The blue poppies with the white Lace Edged Leaves are so elegant. Thank you for sharing and for the inspiration.

Pam – Sorry you lost Tim. It is difficult to have family far away and not to be together as often as you want. I know from our experience. Sometimes you end up getting together at sad times only even the life has good and happy moments as well that you’ll like to share them with everyone you love.
P in Wales – The summer is so short here so you better prep your luggage!
Elaine - Good news about Andrew. Hugs for both of you!
Tracey and Pat - Glad you had a good meet up.
Donita – We are close neighbors, we don’t have a pond between us, 2-3 puddles only.
Laine – I agree, we may have a lot in common! Toronto is a great city to live in - BIG question mark! I will trade it for any European city if I will find a job there. Can you imagine getting closer to you?Ha ha ha!
PP/Yvonne =The busiest and popular lady here!Hope you’ll give us lots of details about your high life!

Thanks to all of you,
Still a newbie to Craft / Not longer the newest and the only across the pond Wilsonette
