Thanks

Hi bloggers!  Today' s card was a bit of an experiment in that I wanted to see if I could use the treat cups with the hexagonal shaped centre of the Pacific Ocean Collection.  The answer is yes, with a little bit of a tweek to it!  I started by cutting the decorative die of the Bora Bora in a piece of coconut white card.  I used the inner cutting die to cut an aperture.  By nipping all the corners of the hexagon just slightly, I was able to fit the treat cup in it.  I added white micro beads to the cup and sealed it by gluing a piece of acetate over the top.  I cut the inside of the Bora Bora in both white and black card, offset them and attached them behind the treat cup.  I cut a decorative piece below the focal element (before attaching the treat cup) using the outside of the Lotus Striplet.  I backed it with Blue Dusk card.  I used the inner section of that die to cut another piece out of blue dusk card and matted it with white and attached it with foam to the centre of the decorative strip.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with an oval die and mounted it in the centre.  I made three flowers using the Striped Nasturtium die set.  I mounted them around the focal element seated on some black jute twine.  I accented them with Lace Edged Leaves.  Blue and white mats were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue and fellow Particraft fans!

Love the striped nasturtiums in blue! So pretty!

I'm not sure what a treat cup is, and I usually skip over shaker cards, but it's pretty cool that you can see an intricacy under the beads without any beads falling through.

Thank you for giving us so many layouts we can adapt to use with dies we have.

Hope everyone's Monday isn't too demanding.

Morning Sue wherever you are in the world. This is truely amazing, why do your experiments knock my fluffy winter socks off and mine end up in the bin !! (Never experiment using my blush card though even if I do have a full unbroken pack especially as it's no longer available) 😦
My first attempt of a shaker card this past Christmas looked like a four year old's attempt lol and I'm fully aware they are supposedly easy to do but there again I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack, but thinking about how a treat cup would work out AND achieving this gorgeous card could only ever be a wish of mine. All those lush flowers, the whole floral adornment on this card makes me smile its just so pretty Sue. The way you've highlighted each die right down to the pretty Lotus striplet at the bottom, just one word is needed - "Thanks"
Hope you are ok, and I'll send my usual hug for the day as always. Have a great day whatever you're up to xxx

Beautiful card, Sue, and so unusual in using the treat cup and beads. That blue is a gorgeous colour and just love the flower sprays. Think I could do a version perhaps without the shaker element, would be just as lovely - lol, don't have any of the 'ingredients' but maybe could substitute!
As ever, hugs for Tina and Peter and well wishes for Andrew and PP's mum and dad.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, gorgeous is the word that springs to mind and how cleaver to use the treat cup. Donita a treat cup also called blister, bubble or shaker cover is the little acetate bubble that is pre-shaped usually with a lip on it that you can fill with shaker beads and things, CE bought them out and they work a treat, Sue did do a video on how to make them which is really easy to follow if you have time to look.

Special hugs to Tina and Peter, Elaine and Andrew, and anyone else who needs one.xx

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a truly spectacular card with which to begin a rather dull and wet week. Only you would have had the imagination and foresight to utilise the treat cups with the hexagonal Bora Bora die so big plus points for ingenuity.....they fit as if they were made for the job! I'm loving the colour palette today, that hint of black really compliments the blue dusk and crisp white tones. The composition of today's card is stunning, i just adore how you've used the Lotus Striplet die to add interest to the bottom portion of the card and the striped Nasturtiums are the perfect enhancement....really will have to invest in these sooner rather than later. Lovely example of your genius Sue, shows us that the treat cups aren't just for Christmas!
Like i said before, the week has begun with sunshine and showers here in Stirling....yes, we can see Norah's beautiful Hills but only a fool would consider venturing up them today:-) So i decided that my best option would be to stay put, a) because i have spent all of my money for now, in the sales, and b) i really should be making myself useful around the house cleaning! Feeling rather noble i cleaned my bathroom to within an inch of its life but sadly, when it came to the dusting.....i can now write my name clearly in the inch thick dust on my bedroom furniture....and the hoovering my vigour had waned slightly so i decided to make a birthday card for my friends 40th instead....yes, much better use of my time methinks!
Just to keep those who care abreast of our dear Yvonne's progress, she managed to drag herself from bed at 4am....Pam, the girl did you proud....to catch the 6.10am to Newcastle and arrived safely later that morning. Her sister has spent the weekend looking after her Dad and visiting Mum in hospital and will hand over the reigns to Yvonne when she has recuperated. She managed to visit her Mum earlier though and apart from the infection her lungs are clear of clots:-). She has been doing what she does best a cooked her Dad a risotto and he ate seconds so he is well on the mend too, they are both in good hands now.
Maureen, hmmm, any advice on how to approach Yvonne? Well, with great care, i found a taser gun very useful in case she invades your body space inappropriately, but in failing that pepper spray works almost as well:-) Just keep agreeing with her because she has a foul temper if crossed, and much like Gremlins, don't feed her after midnight and definitely don't get her wet!!!!
Tina, thinking of you and Peter at this difficult time, i pray he takes a turn for the better soon, hugsxxx
Wheely, hope you're okay, its been a while now. Take care and extra hugs
Elaine, hugs to you and Andrew&Helenxxx
Norah, lovely to see you back, hope you are wellxxx
Special hugs to P, Frances, Myra, Maria, Theresa, June, Deb C, Tracyand to anyone ill, depressed or caring for a loved onexxx
Extra special hugs to Sue for the best blog on the planetxxx

Hi Sue and everyone

Yet again a beautiful card. I'm always drawn to the flower dies as they can accent any type of card so beautifully, and so differently. Lovely colours too. Is it just me or does Sue's accent make the treat cup sound better than it would be if British person said it? I'm Yorkshire born and bred, and very proud, but it just doesn't sound as good!

I'm sorry to say that I dragged my feet too long in making a decision and seemed to have missed all the crafty bargain dies on offer recently. Oh well, I hear there will soon be new ones to temp us with!
