Christmas Double Days

Hello crafters!   The first card is a pretty traditional Christmas card done in a soft silver and white theme.  I started by embossing a piece of silver card with the Let It Snow embossing folder.  I cut three of the Christmas Greetings Tree in white and used spray glue to stack them all together.  I glued them to the embossed background, then cut a frame from the Ornate Pierced Rectangle Noble die set to fit around it.  I added a second outer frame to give it a bit of a detailed edge to the frame.  I added mounting foam to the frame and attached it over the tree, trimming away any excess card from the background.  I added small 3mm white pearls to the embossed snowflake centres behind the tree.  I used the Filigree Poinsettia die set to create several flowers in silver and added them in opposite corners of the card as accents. I used 8mm white pearls for the flower centres.   I finished the card by adding a white pierced mat, a thin silver mat and another white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

Card number two is more of an unusual colour combo for Christmas with it's navy blue and gold theme, but I think it works a treat.  I started by embossing a piece of French Navy card with the Star Swirls embossing folder.  I cut it in half and rubbed Enchanted gold gilding wax to half of it.  I then sprayed that piece with spray adhesive and coated it with Diamond Sprinkles glitter.  I cut both pieces into small squares and added mounting foam to their backs.  I arranged them on to another piece of gold card, leaving a small gap between them.  For the focal element, I cut the Lattice Snowflake die in French Navy card.  I backed it with gold card and added a frame over it cut from gold card as well.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it with the centre oval and raised it with foam and added it to the centre of the Lattice snowflake die.  I attached it in the centre of the card.  I used milk card for the base and paper pierced the first mat, added a thin gold and blue mat and a final milk mat layer to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  How are your Christmas cards coming along??  All for now, Sue x

Ivied Sentiment

Hi bloggers!  Today's video card has a nice ivy theme running through it from the background to the sentiment.  There is also a pretty treatment for bringing your ivy embellishments to life as well.  Enjoy!

Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi there my crafty friends!  I do hope that you aren't getting tired of the Christmas cards as giveaways, but I have extras of these from the demos so it just makes sense!  Today's card started with a piece of coconut white card that I embossed with the Holly Trellis embossing folder.  To the sides of it, I added wide strips of aqua card and cut two Star Sprays per side and glued them to the strips so that the tips were touching.  I nipped away the excess at the top and bottom, even with the card edge.  To create a bit of a feature, I cut thin strips of white card and added mounting foam to the backs and attached them on either side of the aqua pieces.  For the focal element, I cut the Peeking Snowflake die out of white card.  I cut away the top snowflake to make room for my dove.  I added an aqua backing to it and made a wide fame by using the cutting edges from the Lattice Snowflake with the Peeking snowflake.  I cut the Dove of Peace die twice.  I sprayed them adhesive and glittered them with Diamond Sprinkles.  I attached them at the bodies, leaving the wings free for the look of movement.  The base was then added with a paper pierced white mat, a thin aqua mat and another white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  9 1/2" in size.  Leave me a comment if you would like to be included in the drawing to win this card.  I will post the winners name on Saturday's post.

Julia Watts has shows on Hochanda today at 11am, 2pm and 5 pm with Justrite stamps and some great prices too!  Don't forget to tune in to see some fabulous demos!   All for now, Sue x

Stained Glass Striplet

Hi crafters!  Here is another way to use the Mini Rose Garden Striplet!  It works beautifully for the stained glass technique using coloured PVA glues.  I hope you will give it a try!
