BLOG CANDY WINNERS

Hello crafters!   I have finally had a chance to do the long awaited blog candy drawing!  Thank you for your patience.  Some of you may have noticed too, that we lost quite a substantial number of followers on the blog recently(along with every other Google based blog).  I want wanted to mention that had to do with Google removing anyone that had not signed up to follow the blog using a Google account.  It seems that is now a requirement for all of their blogs.  If you would still like to follow the blog, you simply need to sign up for a google account (which is free) and then add yourself back on the blog as a follower.  I did adjust the number needed for the blog candy drawing, but it would be great if we can get back up to the 5500 that we were at!

Now for what you have been waiting for!!

Thinking Of You

Hello crafters!  This is one of my favourite styles of cards, can't really say why, but it just sings to me!  I started by cutting two Scandinavian Borders out of coconut white card and glued them top and bottom to another piece of coconut white card.  Next I cut just the decorative die from the Hannah die set in white.  I backed it with a sticky adhesive sheet and glittered all of the fall away areas with Diamond Snow.  I used the Ornate Pierced Design Noble to cut a frame to sit over the glittered background.  before I removed it from the die, though, I inked it with Shaded Lilac distress ink.  I mounted it with foam for dimension and trimmed away any prts showing from the edge of the frame.  I seated it in the background between the bordered edges.  I used the Perfect Peonies to make two flowers, which I edged with Shaded Lilac before sugaring them with Iced Snow.  I seated them on a seam binding messy bow tied from white seam binding dyed with the same distress ink.  I added some swirls from the Splendid Swirl set and leaves from the Blushing Rose set. I stamped my sentiment and cut it with the Pierced Flags with a matching mat coloured with Distress ink.   I cut and sugared two butterflies from the Delicate Garden Frame die set and glued them on the other side of the frame.  I finished the card in my usual style.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello there my crafty friends!  I have selected a very clean and simple card for today's card giveaway.  I am hoping that it is interesting to enough people as it is not my usual sort of card, but I just loved the way it came out!  I started with a piece of coconut white card and used just the Bold Thank You die without the outer cutting edge.  I cut it three times equally spaced down the card, leaving a wider area at the bottom.  I cut three of just the smaller outer cutting die in white and inked them with three shades of Colour Cloud Inks.   If memory serves me they were: Clear Day, Turquoise Pool and Ocean Blue.  Each colour is in the same colour family but deeper shades of it.  I arranged the inked pieces onto another piece of coconut white card with the lightest shade at the top and thee darkest shade at the bottom.  They lined up with each of the cut out thank you areas so that each one showed through from the back.  I put mounting foam to raise the front piece for depth and attached them.  At the bottom of the card, I cut the thank you again in white, backed it with black and made a black frame using the two outer cutting dies to give it a boldness at the bottom of the card.  I completed the card by paper piercing a white layer, adding a thin black mat for balance and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7 1/2" in size.  Please leave me a comment to be included in the drawing for this one.  All for now, Sue x

Curved Frame Card

Hi guys!  Today's card is a bit different with a lovely curve to it.  Basically a "hand to" someone sort of card rather than post it, but it does make for a pretty presentation!

The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Just For You

Hi all!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I have another card to share which uses some of the papers from my Classic Elegance paper pad.  I selected one of the soft blue coloured pages and used the Australian Corner die without the cutting edge to cut detail into each of the corners of my paper.  I matted it with white to show through.  I cut a slightly larger piece of white card and cut four more of the same Australian Corners out of white, but this time used the outer cutting edge so they could be glued in place on to the white card.  I placed my blue square on a diamond orientation in the middle of it.  Next I cut a smaller square of decorative paper, matted it in white then added it to the centre of the card with pearls in each corner.  I used the Melbourne die to cut a white on white frame and stamped my sentiment in black on to the opposite side of the decorative paper.  I mounted the frame over the sentiment, then used the two circles from the set to cut a circular frame out of the decorative paper. I glued it to the edge of the Melbourne frame.  I used the smallest die in the Sweetheart flower set to create a small flower out of the decorative paper as well.  I glued it to the edge of the frame and added small white pearls to the frame as well.  The card was completed with a white pierced mat and another white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Thanks

Good Sunday morning all!  This one will wake you up with the brightness to it, won't it!  I cut a piece of coconut white card on the diagonal with a larger and smaller area to them.  I embossed the larger part using the Rambling Blossoms embossing folder.  I taped the card back together and matted it with Iris card.  Across the cut line, I added five of the Bearded Pansies in two sizes to create a diagonal border for my card.  I cut the decorative piece in white card, colouring in the emboss areas with yellow and purple and adding in a few fine eyelash lines for detail.  I added an Iris card backing by cutting just the outline die.  I inked a piece of white card with Crushed Olive Distress ink and cut a bunch of the leaves in two sizes.  I inked through the die with Forest Moss distress ink to create the veining and tucked them around the pansies as accents.  For the focal element, I cut the Zoe die in white and backed it with Iris card, then cut the centre out to create a frame.  I stamped my sentiment and seated the frame over it and trimmed away the excess card.  I adhered it to the top of the card.  The card was completed with my usual piercing and layering.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 1/2" in size.
