Thinking Of You

Good Sunday Morning all!   A little bit of letterpressing for today's offering.  I started with the background and inked up the negative side of my Bed Of Roses embossing folder with my Cool Peri Pigment ink pad.  I laid a piece of milk card on it and ran it through my Calibur which transferred the ink to the floor of the design, leaving the actual roses to show in the original milk card colour.  I cut the piece into four sections and added mounting foam to the back to raise them for definition.  I cut two of the Portuguese Borders in milk card and glued them to the top and bottom of the card sections, trimming away the excess.  For the focal element, I cut the centre die in the Classic Adorned Design Noble, but I used the slightly larger outside cutting die from the Ornate Pierced Design set to create a wider border around it.  While still in the die, I inked it with Cool Peri pigment ink to tone in with the background. I cut a milk background to fit behind it and glued them together.  I stamped my sentiment in Blue Violet Archival ink and cut it out with the inside cutting edge from the Classic Adorned Noble.  I cut a slightly larger mat and inked it with Cool Peri as well.  I layered them up in the centre and added some cream flatback pearls to the borders and die cuts.  I completed the card by adding a milk mat, a wisteria card mat (yes it is a new card colour!) and a final milk mat.  Using Ivory PVA glue, I added glue dots all the way around the edge of the inside milk mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8 1/4" in size.

Now for the weekly comment game winners.  This week's winners are:
Shari M!!!
Ginnie Rutter!!!
Janet Morcombe!!!

From the extra qualifying post of Wed. July 8th, the winners are:
Fran Bailey!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Good Morning Sue

Going to make a card for a lady who is turning 80 on Thursday. You have reminded me about how to letterpress the background. I think she would love the roses embossed that way. I must make some flowers and a ribbon bow so the card is special for a special Lady.

Thank you

Morning Sue
I love it when you letterpress your background and today's folder is one of the best for it well I think so.
Your format for today's gift is so simple but it makes such a beautiful gift and I think fits very well into my 'less is more' file. I also think it suits any occasion. I love the new card colour - so very gentle. Will have to look into buying some I think.

I hope everyone is having a really good week-end and that whatever plans have been made are successful.
To all in pain or suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Good morning Sue and gorgeous Wilsonettes,

What a stunning card for today's post, I love everything about it. The Noble dies are becoming a firm favourite with me due to their versatility but the real star of the show has to be the Bed of Roses EF-I have been too wary of making a mess to try letter pressing techniques before now but the effects are undeniably superb, I think I will have to put on a pinny and be brave:-). Separating the design into panels was a nice touch and I love the wisteria cardstock, a lovely summery colour.
Unfortunately, I have a manic day today, my niece will be visiting and will want entertained but I hope to sneak in some of the Wimbledon finals as well, so little time for crafting. I will try to do a little of my cross stitch for my Mums birthday though, because I am running out of time and it is a very complex design, my most challenging yet-it's of our two departed cats and I am wishing they were black and white instead of tabbys!
Congrats to the weekly comment winners, including fluffy cat , I hope you enjoy your bootie!
Best of luck to your son June, what a valiant attempt for a worthwhile cause.
Have a lovely Sunday friends old and new.

Hi Sue
I love the soft colours of this card. The dies work really well together. The embossing folder looks very deep. Thanks for sharing.
