Christmas Double Day

Hello bloggers!  Another Christmas double day again, what a quick week it has been!  I have two very traditional looking  cards for today's offering.  For this first card, I embossed a white background using the Swirling Holly embossing folder to add texture.  I cut two of the Snowflake corners and coated them with spray adhesive and dusted them with Diamond Sprinkles.  I glued them in opposite corners.  Next I cut the Ornate Pierced Design Noble out of white card and backed it with vintage gold card.  I cut  the centre out to create a frame and added mounting foam to raise it.  I embossed a piece of vintage gold card using the Bed of Roses folder to use as a background for my frame.  I decided to paper grout it with Polar White sparkle texture paste to bring out the pattern a bit more.  Once dry, I glued my frame over it and trimmed away the excess from underneath.  I cut the Vertical Joy die out of coconut white card and sprayed it with adhesive and glittered it with Diamond Sprinkles.  I cut the solid letters out of white and glued them in place behind.  I added mounting foam and glued it in the centre of my frame.  I made two poinsettias using both the Classic Poinsettia die and the Open Petal Poinsettia die.  I added them with some Holly spray and white tulle to the lower left side of my frame.  I completed the card by using my piercing ruler to create a pierced white mat layer.  Next I added a thin vintage gold card mat and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/4" in size.  Scroll down to see card number two.

The second offering today is a silver pearl and sky blue angel card.  I used the Illusion embossing folder with a piece of coconut white card to add texture to the background.  Next, I used the Ornate Pierced Rectangle Noble die to cut an aperture in the silver pearl card.  I used a paper cutter to cut the outside edge into a rectangle.  I used the two largest dies in the set to add a thinner sky blue frame which I glued to the edge of the aperture.  I mounted it on foam over the embossed background.  I cut the Christmas Angel 2015 out of silver pearl card (from my stash).  I added her with foam in the centre of the frame.  I used the various twinkle stars in the set and cut them out of both blue and silver pearl card and glued them to the background.  I added the word "peace" from the Dove of Peace die set.  I completed the card with a white hand pierced mat layer, a thin silver and blue mat and a wider white mat.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue
Both of these cards are absolutely beautiful. Magnificently festive and I can't choose a favourite.
Thank you for another Oscar winning performance on C & C yesterday. You looked absolutely stunning. Just love to watch you. Your fabulous sharing personality is so evident as you inspire us all. Wish it was back to back Sue shows all the time. I would be glued.
You helped me spend all my Birthday money. It didn't take me long. I will now patiently await the delivery of the Noble Collection Classic Adorned Rectangle Dies, Noble Collection Classic Adorned Square Dies, Pierced Tags Dies and Refined Rectangle Frames, Perseus and Delphinius Gemini Dies and Regal and Quilted Blocks Striplet Dies. Didn't I do well? My poor courier will have to endure another extremely excited and shriek filled outburst. She thinks I am a nutter - she wouldn't be wrong!
Have a wonderful time with your mum.
Will you be back in September before or after Ally Pally? I am so hoping to be well enough to make it this time round,

Sandra - I know what a blessing good friends are so it was lovely to read your comment. Sometimes the best and closest friends are the ones that we meet a little later in our lives. I don't think you are alone in wanting to thank Sue for the support that she generates from her fantastic blog. She deserve a medal x

Magpie - Happy Birthday tooooo yoooooo! Happy Birthday tooooo yoooooo! Happy Birthday dear Karen. Happy Birthday tooooo yoooooo! Seeing as you have already won a card this week I think it only fair that if you win Sue's card that you donate it to me - thank you in advance x

Tres - you just got to love flexi pay x

Lorraine - how's your credit card? x

Steph - love it - blending boobies. Made me smile. Hope that cloud is gone or lifting x

Janet - what happens if you forget something really important when you do your shopping? You can't exactly pop back to get it x

Belle - welcome welcome welcome. You did it right x

My 23 year old son Jake is going to France this evening for a fishing holiday. Today he will take over every bit of available space with all his 'stuff'. I will smile sweetly and breathe a sigh of relief when it is all packed in the car knowing that I have a week before he returns to fill the house once again.
Have a fun filled Friday everyone

Morning Sue
I hope your feeling better after a night's sleep. Unfortunately I didn't get to see your shows because of getting caught up in the French Farmers' blockading the motorways showing their displeasure that the French system are not buying French cattle and when they do not at a good price.

Anyway today's gifts are truly beautiful both in their own way. This week I can choose a favourite and it has to be No.1 as you have just given me some extra inspiration re my special seasonal gifts I will be making.

Well as it's Friday again and yes where do the days go. I cannot believe we have been here for 5 weeks now and it only seems 5mins so although we did the big shop yesterday we are going to Corbigny market as usual so cakes will be bought for tonight.

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

I had to buy a couple of dies before hand to make use of my £10 voucher! What a shame! Safe trip to Florida, I hope it's not too hot and humid there now, love to your wonderful mum too. Happy birthday Karen xxx

Hi Sue

Two very beautiful cards for the festive season. I think I love the first one just a tiny bit more as it is my style of card......elegant and simple to recreate.

The Christmas Angel 2015 is lovely and I do like the blue you have used.

Would love to receive either card.

Great shows yesterday and am going to watch them over again today!

Good morning Sue and the lovely Wilsonettes!

Yippee! It's fabulous Friday and two for the price of one, you are so spoiling us this week Sue. Both cards are very impressive-as always-but I prefer the layout of no. 1, it is more my taste. Note to self..I will really have to try the paper grouting technique sometime soon, it is so effective. I adore the angel die, she is even better than last years and I will most definitely be purchasing her in the near future.
Like Ros, I have a Christmas folder to delve into when inspiration fails me, with all of your previous years creations too-I also separate video tutorials, new die previews and standard cards also...who says I have a touch of OCD!??!
Your shows yesterday were an inspiration, and thankfully you were given plenty of opportunity to demonstrate without too many interruptions. You looked fabulous and positively glowing, what's your secret? It must be hard work, dedication and love of your craft I think.
Yvonne, my credit card took quite a battering yesterday, it is currently in intensive care after haing to be resuscitated twice-like you, I bought the Gemini and striplet collection, the adorned Rectangle and the foundations card, before going on ebay to buy the entire Canadian Collection that I have been lusting after for ages! Even though I wish Sue was back before September, I think it will take till then for my card, and my Mum, to recuperate!
Tres, I too thank The Lord for the wonders of flexi pay...and so does my bank manager!
Magpie Karen, Happy Birthday! You and Yvonne can now duel for the honour of owning a genuine Sue masterpiece, though it has to be said that Yvonne has broken new ground on charm and manipulation and if her tactics work I will be employing them in the near future myself!
Sandra, what a truly heartwarming story about a friendship found through a shared appreciation of Sues blog. It is something we should all take heed of and if anyone in the Stirling area is also interested in meeting up I would be thrilled.
Beth, fortunately my heart monitor has been delayed until next week because I had a seizure yesterday, so any inevitable spikes in heart rate during Sues shows went undetected:-) enjoy your holidays, plenty of time for crafting hopefully!
What a wonderful blog Sue has created it never fails to have me in stitches. Take care everyone, and enjoy your well deserved rest with your Mum Sue, you will be sadly missed but anytime you are able to spend with loved ones has to be cherished

Love and crafty hugs,

Laine1972xxxxxx

Hello Sue.

I love the dies you have used on this first card. The colour is lovely and I really like the paper grout effect you have used for your background, I can imagine the sparkle is stunning. The all white Poinsettias are so pretty. I think the Illusion Embossing Folder works really well with Christmas Angel die cut. I think the hint of blue really works and I love your scattering of stars. Thanks for sharing.

Great shows yesterday on C&C have a safe journey home.

Best wishes.

The first of today's cards is my favourite, I think you either like Angels or you don't and I'm afraid I don't.

Your Mum will be thrilled to have you visit with her, love and friendly hug from me to her.

Liane sorry to hear of your episode yesterday. I used to have them but after having a monitor they found my heart kept stopping so in with a pacemaker and all is going well - 11 years now. Good for credit card shocks as it kicks in and keeps me ticking over lol.

How great to hear of ladies meeting up. I go to a small group once a week and we chat and craft and drink tea/coffe with chocolate biscuits.
Mmmm did I say coffee and biscuits --- sorry got to go put the kettle on.

Hi Sue and wonderful Wilsonettes
What stunning cards we have today, they are both absolutely gorgeous and I I'm afraid there is no gnat's whisker between them today, simply can't choose. The frame is so pretty around the beautiful Joy die and the white and gold look gorgeous together. The angel is beautiful in peaceful silver pearl, she personifies "hark the herald" and the EF is delicious, must look for that one.
MAGPIE Happy Birthday for today, hope you've been spoilt rotten- sending birthday hugs x x
SANDRA it was so lovely to hear about your 1 year anniversary and the great friendships you have found, it's amazing and so heart warming.
LYNDA B, I'm OK thanks for asking. I still haven't been able to watch Sue's shows, thank goodness for the Tivo box, been mad busy with work yesterday and then a quick tea and spent all evening putting the finishing touches to my eldest sons costume for ComiCon which he's going to all weekend. He loves having a crafty mum but sometimes the things he thinks I can do are way out of my league. Been out with my youngest son all day today, getting his holiday clothes and new footy boots for the next season.
YVONNE, I got the same Striplet and Gemini set as you but was soooo disappointed that the beautiful new coloured foundation card had sold out before I could get to it. I thought I should also mention that I have a big birthday-with-a-nought-on-the-end later this year, just giving you plenty of advance notice ha ha.
BETH B, thank you for your kind words, my sister-in-law is doing really well and seems in good spirits despite losing all her hair. Thank you for your prayers. You are a lovely lady and I don't know how you manage to spot everyone's news the way you do, I miss so much of what's going on and I am touched that you commented x
LYNDA M, bet you can't wait for your daughter and grandson to come home, does he have a name yet?
LORRAINE, I love reading your comments, they really tickle me, but was sorry to hear you had a seizure, I must say you sound like you just take everything in your stride. Sending crafty hugs x
MOLLY, I was really moved when I read about your granddad's hair, bless him and you and all your family x
I'm off out for a Turkish meal tonight with my hubby and a couple of friends so will catch up with Sue's shows over the weekend, something to look forward to, can't wait to see all the demo's and samples.
Have a fab evening everyone, love and blessings - Deb C xx
