Friendship

Hi crafters!  What a crazy weekend it was!  I really enjoyed getting see so many of you from the blog at Ally Pally.  It is always so nice to put faces to the names that I see daily, thank you!  I never had a chance to get my camera out though! :(   Today's card was started by doing a bit of embossing using the Climbing Vines embossing folder.  I cut the piece into two with a 3/4 piece for the top and a 1/4 sized piece for the bottom to create a channel card.  Next I used the Eternal Rings striplet to fill the area in the channel.  I placed white flatback pearls at all the junctions.  I cut the Ursa die out of White card twice, then backed it with Sky blue card both times.  I added these to the top and bottom of the channel area in the card.  For my focal element, I cut the Copenhagen die set in white as my back piece.  I stamped my sentiment on white card and cut it out with the smaller die in the Copenhagen set.  I used the Stockholm die to mat it in sky blue.  I completed the card with a white mat layer that I used Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots all the way around.  I added a thin blue mat and a final white mat to finish it off.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x 9" in size.

On another note, Julia Watts is doing the Craft Clinic today at 11am for two hours.  Be sure to tune in!

Julia is also running some more workshops with my latest collections of dies. The first is at Creative Expressions HQ in Kettering on Tuesday 28th April featuring some of my Caribbean Collection. You'll also get to learn how to make decorative stick pins and a 3d flower. Julia ran this workshop recently and it was so popular that all the places were sold so it's being repeated.

Julia is also holding an all day workshop in Milton Keynes on Saturday May 16th featuring a bunch of my dies including the Nobles, Caribbean Collection and my Weaving Dies. Loads of techniques in these projects as well.

For more details, please email Julia at juliawattscrafts@gmail.com

Now for all the weeks winners.  The Wednesday Card Giveaway winner is:

Morning Sue
I hope that today will be a little calmer than the last two days and that your hearing has gone down to normal decibels.

I always love when you use pastels. Always clean, light and so very calming. So today's gift is definitely a winner in my book. Your Striplet and Gemini dies always work well together and take your eye just where you want it to go into the picture.

Sam it's so good to see you this morning. I hope you're a little better.

Congratulations 'P' I can hear the squeals of delight right over here and I know you will cherish Sue's work of art.
Congratulations to all the other very lucky ladies. Enjoy your gift.

So I suppose it's all back to normal this morning for all you lucky wilsonettes that went to AP.
I hear you all had a 'ball'.

Have to do a little shopping this morning and then I have to get down to finishing off a couple of cards which are needed for this week.

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Another amazing idea I am so bad at coming up with ideas I wouldn't dream of putting the Striplet behind a channel Such a simple effective technique which would work with most of the Striplets and Gemini or border or bracket dies - endless I bought no end of stuff from you and CE I daren't add it all up! Huge thank you for for your tips, patience and kindness I enjoyed last AP but I really really enjoyed this AP because I was able to meet you and the rest if the CE gang

Another bright and beautiful day here in Cannington, so a spot of gardening is on the cards. An hour a day and the job will soon be done. Good job I enjoy my garden or it would become a chore not a pleasure. I still tire out very easily so had a chat with one of the nurses from our Cancer clinic, and she said it will be up to a year before I will be back to normal as the radiation from the radiotherapy treatment is still in my body doing its job.

Good morning Sue and everyone

A very calming card I think today. Brilliant use of the striplet die, it looks so elegant.

Still tired from Ally Pally on Saturday. Have been making some camelia flowers from my dies from the coconut white foundation card I bought at the show and they look really lovely. I was really taken with the one on the card on Sues demo table on Saturday. I think it was the card for her mother's birthday. I also bought cosmic shimmer dries clear glue. My flowers look so much better using these products, and the glue grabs quickly making it so much easier.

I showed Sue a picture on my phone of a birthday card I made for my mother in law using her dies, and she named them straight away. She was very kind and said it was nice. I also told her I was the lady who had emailed her asking about magnetic sheets, and we chatted about how long it had taken me to get there from York. I realise after reading her comments about it being nice to put faces to the names she sees every day on the blog I didn't tell her that I was a follower.

I have yet to try distress ink, but I think this will change soon as I feel the urge to tint some camellias!

Going now to catch Julia on the telly. Well done to all the winners.

Love Helen. Xx

Hello Sue
Such a pretty card today and a lovely color too.
I am glad you all had a great time at AP, I wish I could have been there, too! However, my Camellia Complete Petals die arrived this morning along with some others so I am now more than happy!
Try to take it easy this week although I think I saw it mentioned you were filming today. Where do you get that energy from, Sue?
Best Wishes

Hellooo Sue and the Wilsonettes! Beautiful cards Sue. So so many of gorgeous dies and embossing folders....I honestly don't know how you do so much! "Thank you" for all that you do xx Maria, it was a great day yesterday. Well worth getting up at 4.30am for. Sue, you were so so lovely....I couldn't get many words out but I have a photo of us which my husband took and it will be treasured x He was so good to me. not only with packs of card, sticky tapes and flowers but also a lovely stash of your gorgeous pins, spacers and crystals to make some of my/your beautiful pins! My free stamp says "I am thankful for you in my life"....no need to say anymore because it is your wonderful inspiration that keeps us all going! Plus I have to keep my mojo up to keep my mum impressed for her to show them at bingo! Lol! Ally pally was amazing. There was many a bargain to be had and embellishments that could be made. There were a lot of sparkly things that caught my eye! It was also amazing seeing the great view over London and all the better with the beautiful pink blossom trees. The icing on the cake was meeting you.....and after that, the trip on the little train that takes you to the car park! Saved the legs! Lol! Take care everyone, thinking of you who are going through a hard time or who are poorly. Thinking of you too Norah. It must be such a hard thing to do and not to feel guilty....sending love and hugs to you and all here. Congratulations "P" on winning the giveaway and also the comment winners! Take care Sue xx and everyone too xx Love Karen xx

Hi Sue

Love everything about this card, thinking I neeeed that embossing folder, so pretty. I'm hoping to order the eternal rings striplet now a few places have restocked- also hoping my last two NY dies arrive soon as they were on a backorder. Wow, I will have lots to play with! Glad AP was a success. I went to a concert there in 2012 and the views over London at night was qmazing, the sea of lights was a lot more beautiful than you'd think. Hopefully September but a lot of saving up to do first and it all depends on the trains given the weekend rail works.

Congratulations to all the winners xxx

Been asleep since after tea hence late post. Expected extra tiredness and extra pain after weekend so shorter posf than usual.

Big bear hugs to all, extra hugs always here if you need them,

T xx
