Smooth Sailing

Good Sunday morning all!  I thought I would share my message in a bottle card today.  I was trying to make it look like it was bobbing up and down in the ocean, but I couldn't resist putting a small ship inside of it either.  LOL  It is just barely visible under the dew drops I used in the shaker.  I started by inking a light cloud background then cutting an aperture in a piece of coconut white card with the Message In A Bottle Die.  I filled my bottle treat cup with some dew drops (from my stash) and sealed it with acetate.  I added my small ship (it was actually from the Little Treasures die set) to the piece I removed from the aperture, then I glued it to the back of the treat cup behind the acetate.  I cut several of the waves from the Nautical Accessories die set out of differing shades of blue and glued them across the card.  I cut the sentiment from inside the Porthole but cut away the outer ring and glued it to the top of the card.  I added several seabirds to the sky from the Island Paradise die set.  The card was finished with white on white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x 8 1/2" in size.

The winners of this week's Comment Game are:

Clare Powell!!!
Heather Toms!!!
Kate from Kendal!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and l Wilsonettes, what a wonderful card today, you are so clever to think up these examples.

Pam I reiterate all you have said above. The eye test went really well, she could not see anything untowards although it has to be checked by the consultant, should have another check in a years time. I certainly like the Saturday appointments, easy to park in the hospital and not many people around, so different from a week day when it is mayhem at times.

Congratulations to the 3 lucky winners.

I am going to be watching John Lockwood on Hochanda today as he has launched some new stuff.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Hi Sue
Oh this is such a fabulous card x
The colours are perfect and using the dew drops is ingenious. I have oodles of dew drops in my stash and have had them forever. I know what will become of them now! x
For the cynics amongst you who noted my absence yesterday and presumed that my early morning posts had proved too much and I couldn't keep it up - wrong!! I went to my friends on Friday and we had such a lovely time I ended up staying overnight. I didn't get home until 10am then had to get ready for a wedding and was out again by 12 x
I made it back home just in time to crawl into bed and watch Strictly - although my eyes were not open for the full program. So the plan this morning is to re watch Strictly in its entirety. The bits I saw led me to believe that 2017 is going to be a very good year x
So, after such a full on Saturday I will admit to being just a tad done in so pardon my inability to catch up on comments today!
Still so shocking to see the utter horror that is being caused by Irma and my heart goes out to anyone and everyone who is affected x
Take care

Hello Sue,
I have to say that this isn't my sort of card today but I'm guessing you know that already! It's a great idea though and the colours are lovely very coastal!
Sue - I've been watching the effects of Hurticane Irma on TV on CNN . Feel so very sorry for people who have lost power but praying no lives are lost!
Been a mad day here as we had a power cut from 8.30 am until just before 11am. For vital repair work we were told! So we had Sunday Lunch at 4 pm! There were eight of us and it seemed noisier than usual but lovely as always to see the grandchildren!
Elaine - Glad Andrew is enjoying his breakfasts and hope the scan results are good.
Rosemary - I'm so sorry about your friends' reaction to your illness. Some people just can't cope and don't know what to say! Just being normal is about right!! I do hope this doesn't upset you! That would be a real shame! Sending lots of love!
Saba is safely home! Just in case she doesn't get in today!
Maureen doing the Great North Run!!!! I hope Mo Farah isn't upset as she says she beat him!!!
Love to all, Myra ( Friend of Maureen!)

Rosemary please don't think you are alone, we are all here to listen and send you our love and hugs.
Elaine, so glad Andrew's scan went well and he is being so positive, he is in my prayers.
Dragonsnap sorry you've not been well recently hope you are on the mend.
Donita a bit short and sweet from you today, hope you are alright.
Congratulations Claire, Heather and Kate on your win.
Maureen I've had a word with Mo. He's asked that next time could you not wear your red silk bloomers, it really was distracting for him!
Well I am now home in Germany as Myra said. It's been a busy two weeks back in Blighty but lovely to see the grandchildren. Got a busy week ahead as well, we are going sailing again next weekend and I need to get organised for that.
My thoughts and prayers are for all those affected by this terrible hurricane, Stephanie K thank goodness your family are safe with you.
