Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Good morning crafters!  Today's card giveaway is another stained glass card (I have loads of them!)  I started by cutting the Poinsettia Stained Glass in black card and attaching it with spray glue to a piece of clear acetate.   In the traditional stained glass technique, I used Polished silk glitters of varying colours applying them to the back of the acetate in thee different sections.  You need to start with the darkest colours first then work your way towards the lighter colours.  I started with the green for the leaves, then the red for the flowers.  I used gold for the edges and white for the background, filling in the sections with glue, covering with glitter then tapping off the excess.  I set it aside to dry overnight when it was completely filled it.  When all the glue dries and turns clear, the glitter colour will show through the front of the acetate.  I cut another of the Poinsettia Stained Glass dies in white and overlaid the black one with a slight offset.  The original black die did have a wider border on it so it shows from underneath the white die on top as well.  I cut the Twinkle Frames in white and added a white backing and seated the stained glass in the centre, adding flatback pearls to the twinkle stars around the edge (and the centres of the poinsettias).  I stamped a sentiment and cut it into a tag shape and tucked the end under a white crystal dazzler that I added to the middle of a red organza bow.  I added the bow in the corner of the card and the card can effectively be used either vertically or horizontally.  White and black mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2"  x   8" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be entered into the drawing to win this one.  I will announce the winner on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous card Sue, lovely giveaway. Stunning stained glass card
Elaine, I'm glad you were finally able to get some sleep. If Andrew has to have his top up its good he wont have to stay in. How long is Helen away for, hope she manages to enjoy the wedding.
Rosemary hope your FIL is feeling a bit better, you must be quite anxious, 94 is a grand old age.
Yoohoo Saba, did you sleep well in your beds. Hope you have clear skies today.
Well my daughter & SIL have gone, now I'm Grandmas taxi for my granddaughter up and down to the stables, happy to help but she doesn't half slam car doors, yikes
Carmen, good to hear that the Kid is doing well and is happy and great news on his scan result. Where are you going on holiday?
Crewe Trish, not had my meeting yet, they cant do it while I'm on reduced hours, and she is on holiday for the next 2 weeks from Friday, she just feels it necessary to mention it nearly every day. Love your granddaughters huggles.
Huggles to all, especially our poorly, missing and carer friends.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a beautiful giveaway card today, I love these stained glass dies but when I tried this technique I got in a right old mess so I will try it again.

Pam I reiterate all you have said above, xxx

Congratulations to June, Karen and Jackie for winning in the Blog Candy Draw.

Off to craft club today and we are also holding our MacMillan Coffee Morning at the same time, so it is going to be a very hectic morning, but well worth it.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

What a wonderful Wednesday. Good morning Sue and thank you. I know we all long to be the honoured recipient of one of your stunning creations and there is always the odd one that stands out that you hope and pray for, well for me it's the Stained Glass collection. I decided that no matter how I try, I would never do this die justice I just don't have the confidence to try, so to be able to receive such a card would be better than winning any of the lotto draws for me. Time will tell 😕
Sue, the feedback I got was no cards/flowers so my predicament is no longer a real worry.
Thank you for this absolutely beautiful sample and I hope you have a good day. Love and hugs coming your way xxx

Hi Sue
What a pretty card today, I always like the effect of the glittter behind the acetate. I just wish I had the patience to let it dry and stop dabbing my finger in the wet gluey glitter and making a mess!! It's either that or I leave them safely to dry, forget about them, as I've told my brain to do, then put something down on top of them without thinking and wonder where they are when I can't find them. Haha, welcome to the mad house!! Thank you for sharing.
Love Diane G xxx
Pam I hope your door survives. Have you rhought of having a tally sheet that you mark off when your manager mentions your illness, then when she asks what it is, tell her it's your record for showing the unions! I'm sure it would stop very quickly then! Look after yourself xxx
Congratulations to all the lucky blog candy winners xxx

Hello Sue,
This is just beautiful, the colours and the design are gorgeous.
Pam, it's a good idea from Diane (most unusual, she doesn't usually have any ha ha) to write down every time a meeting is mentioned. It will be good for future reference. Hope you are bearing up and that your daughter and SIL have a whale of a time. By the way, children are born to slam doors and annoy people, Husbands to leave doors open everywhere!!
Elaine, glad that Andrew is feeling a bit better, and I hope you manage to get your coffee morning but tell the miserable old so and so of a Warden that Friday 29th is the official day, not Saturday so she is wrong!!! People are having coffee mornings all week up here.
Rosemary, how exciting for you with the shows you have lined up, these will give you a great boost. Now don't shout at me but I don't watch Strictly - I'm odd that way. Ask any of the gang, or Yvonne!!!
Donita, there is a lot you don't know about Myra, but believe me it's better that way as you'll sleep easier, and I'll sort Saba out when I see her lol
Laine, sorry to read that your energy is not up to scratch, hope you feel much better today.
PP, give Laine a ring a day early, that will get her moving as she rushes out of the house to avoid you!!! After being cheeky to you I do hope you are well.
Maria, I hope you are well and not in pain.
love to all

Hello Sue,
I really love this card! It's beautiful and I do intend to copy it! - well nearly! I've made one card using the Dies so far but used Red Glitter Kiss. It's just black, white and red but I'm rather pleased with it! I actually copied your idea of lightly embossing the Wise Men Die , then fussy cutting it. Then cutting the Die in another colour as you did on a video! The detail is amazing! I almost meant to say I loved the music you had playing at the end of that particular video!
Donita - in my world - all things are possible if you only believe!!
Elaine - so sorry about your Warden! People have been having coffee mornings all week ! It's having one that counts! She just couldn't be bothered! Hope Helen has a lovely time at the wedding and a good rest! Knowing Andrew is feeling better will be such a help to her.
Pam - yes slamming doors seems a nationwide problem - it's either that or leave them wide open! Clearly not to be recommended in a car!
My son now calls " shut the door!" I'm sure he got annoyed when I did that to him!
Must go and make a sandwich or two!
Love to all,
Myra( Friend of Maureen!!). Xxxxx. Despite her cheek! X

This is just a perfect card and the perfect post as this particular die is coming in the mail today if the tracker is correct. I love these stained glass dies. I have not tried glitter on the back of acetate. I may agree with June Smith if I tried. Myra, I liked your idea of the red Glitter Kiss. I don't have any Glitter Kiss but I have been wanting to get some and I see it now on some American web sites. Looks like a fun product.

Twinkle Frames ..... the two together are just stunning! I am so pleased that i purchased both dies, and am really looking forward
to putting them to good use, probably a simpler version of your gorgeous one on today's blog.
Thank you so much for being such an inspiration to so many card crafters, God bless you.
Love and hugs

Hello Sue,
What a stunning card for the Wednesday give away, it's fabulous. I love your twinkle frames, I purchased it recently but haven't yet had chance to play with it. Your poinsettias with their polished silk glitters look amazing. Thankyou Sue for the chance to own this gorgeous card.

Elaine, ekes, I'm happy to say i wasn't murdered in my bed.
Izzy, that's what I was worried about, I've never even seen a spiff, let alone smoked one. I've led a sheltered life!
Carmen yes we are practising for our meet up, I can hardly wait. Although I think Maureen has something in store for me. Hope she doesn't bring a pikey tool with her.
Maria love I'm so sorry to hear you are suffering, sending you special hugs.
Well it's been a lazy day, just sitting on deck, reading and the occasional dip into the crystal clear waters. I've seen needle fish again and decided they are more scared of me than I am of them. We saw them earlier on the week, I googled them and learned they can attack! I sent my hubby in for a swim to see what would happen, he survived. But the highlight of my day was this evening. The stars are out in force with no street lights to diminish their beauty and suddenly the ISS made its appearance, moving slowly across the night sky until fading into oblivion. I waved, wonder if they saw me! Tomorrow we are heading for the harbour where we keep our boat. Sad out holiday is almost over.
Love and hugs for all

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

This is one of my favourite festive dies, i just love the stained glass designs because they are so bright and cheery...they also remind me of some Art Deco inspired cross stitches that I had framed for my brother, the frame is very similar to those that I stitched. I think that using the silk polished glitter on acetate is my favourite technique for colouring the poinsettias, its just so sparkly and fun....it does require heaps of patience waiting for it to dry though but its definitely worth the effort cos the results are stunning. Whoever wins this card will be so fortunate, its one of my most favourite designs thus far from your festive cards, good luck everyone:-)
Having a better day today, had to pick myself up to go and have my hair blow dried....my Mum has cheekily stolen my appointment to get it cut and coloured because her grey roots are showing, Leslie our hairdresser joked that she wasn't allowing her to leave the salon in such a state because she would be a poor reflection on her:-) Being too young to have any grey hairs i had to sympathise, and being the kind and generous human being that i so clearly am I immediately offered her my place....well almost!:-)
There is a coffee morning on in the salon for Macmillan on Friday which i am hot footing it to....Allaine, the owners wife, is a fabulous baker and makes chocolate truffles to die for that whizz me back to the ones that we used to get at school, they don't taste of rum and are a lovely moist texture...i hope nobody notices if i nab half a dozen!
Pam, your manager is a right gobby old mare isnt she? Her holiday cant come soon enough so that you can get a bit of peace to do what your paid for rather than having to suffer her passive aggressive attitude. I couldn't slam a door even if i tried nowadays....5 and a half stone weakling, that's me:-).....gone are the days when it was my weapon of choice against my parents and a sure sign of my displeasure:-)
Elaine, hope Helen and Daniel enjoy their holiday, wouldn't it be nice to have a bit of Florida sunshine? Wishing Andrew well too, hope his hospital visit went okay...is he still enjoying his breakfasts? Glad you're getting some quality sleep, you must be worn out! Hugs to you allxxx
Rosemary, what a treat, I love Giovanni, boy can he move! His pert buttocks havent escaped my notice either i have to confess:-) Will you be going to see the main Strictly Show on tour too? My dream was to have seen Vincente and Flavia do their Argentine Tango tour, they're my favourite professionals, wish they would come back. And Gleb, mmmmm.............
Maureen, not watch Strictly? Are you insane? Don't answer that Myra! Well, after what Yvonne tells me about George, who needs a burger when you have steak at home:-) Me, i will continue to ogle from afar because that's all i am capable of nowadays!
Myra, when do you and the Gang of Nine meet up? Is it soon? Fancy a gatecrasher.....i could tie up Saba with her own boats rope and suitably disable Maureen with my tazer, it came in very handy when dealing with Yvonne's lip:-)
Yvonne, call yourself a Wilsonette? Where is the comment then? Tut,Tut!
Carmen, thankyou honey, you are the only one who refers to me by my proper title, its much appreciated because a little bit of respect goes a long way with me:-) Hope you enjoy your holiday, its well deserved.xxx
Huge hugs to all my blog besties, hope you are all wellxxx

A beautiful card Sue and I actually have this die. I bought 3 of the stained glass ones but havent tried them yet. I also bought some acetate but I think I've got the wrong thickness. Didn't know which to order(on line) so I went with the thin one and I think it's too thin. Could someone tell me what thickness to get please. Is there a tutorial available for this card? I really must get started on my Christmas cards as many of them will be going to CANADA.
All for now.
Love and hugs.
