Christmas Double Days

Hi crafters!  We have a double day with a navy blue theme today!  I started this first card by cutting the Frosty Frame twice out of coconut white card.  I cut the centre out of both of them, and then cut one of them in half lengthwise.  I added thin bits of mounting foam to the first one to raise it and cut the Stitched Striplet out of navy blue and put the frame over it, trimming away the excess from underneath it.  Then I added the extra frame that was cut in half to the top and bottom of the frame.   I stamped my sentiment and cut it out and added it atop the tag from the frosty frame die set. I used Faded Jeans to lightly ink around the sentiment.   I mounted the entire piece on a larger piece of coconut white card and added Snowflake Flourish Corners cut in white to each of the corners.  Navy blue and white mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 3/4" in size. Scroll down for card number two.

Card number two is a really good one for quick batch making.  I embossed a piece of navy card with the Falling Snow embossing folder.  I used Silver Dream gilding polish over the top to highlight the texture.  Next I cut the Radiating Star in silver and backed it with silver card.  I cut the Tidings of Comfort die in silver and added it below the star.  I cut the Holly Swirl and nipped away the holly pieces and cut it and attached part below and part above the star as an accent.  White, silver and blue card mats and layers were used to complete this card,  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8" in size.

Just a quick reminder that I will be leading off the Creative Expressions Takeover Weekend tonight at 6pm on Hochanda!  I will be showcasing some of the Christmas dies that haven't yet been on the tv and a few of the more popular ones that have, including the Frosty Frame shown in the first sample today!  I hope you will be able to join us for what is going to be a very fun and craft filled weekend on Hochanda!  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh I so love double days and you have not disappointed me with these 2 samples, both stunning, and so different.

Looking forward to the Takeover weekend and your first show at 6pm, it is only fitting that you lead the way as the General in charge with your commandoes backing you up.

Good morning Sue. I love the double days. Next to 4 posts a day what could be better than double the inspiration. Your first sample is so beautiful with the delicate border of the frosty frame and the second sample is very striking, although it has a very dark sky background, by the stills alone you can see how effective it would look when the light bounces off it. Two gorgeous samples Sue. Not quite sure which shows you are actually demonstrating this coming weekend as the synopsis doesn't mention which shows are yours, due to very limited room in the little black box I have to pick and choose which I set to record as I refuse to delete any shows of yours from year's gone by lol. So I hope you have a good day and I'll send you my love and hugs as I usually do and have a day of love and laughter xxx

Hello Sue
I adore both of these cards and couldn't chooose between them. I really didn't think I needed any more Christmas dies until I saw the first one, the frosty frame has made me change my mind though and I'm certain if I get to see the show I will be ordering it once I'm home. I never would have thought to cut a second one in half to use as an extra layer, it works beautifully.

Laine well done on the protein front, keep it up. So pleased your results are showing signs of improvement. Sorry you are one of the ungodly ones! Hope it doesn't rain on you too much, I'm righteously happy sitting in the sun. Will you be going with your mum to watch strictly? What a lovely gift you are giving her.
Yvonne, lucky you, bet you were singing Tomorrow all the way home.
Pam what's all this about special circumstances? You were ill for goodness sake, it's not as if you threw a sicky and went on holiday. I hope your union rep shoots her down in flames.
Elaine, it comes to us all at sometime, I've needed glasses for ages now, can't read a thing without without them, hope the doc can sort out your hearing problem without the need for a hearing aid.
Donita! You've finally succumbed to the love and hugs team. Well done, love and hugs to you too.
Pat thank you I am enjoying it but it's such hard work lying on deck soaking up the sun, surrounded by crystal clear blue waters with only the gentle lapping of the waves as distraction!
Love and hugs for all

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Ooh, my favourite day of the week, twofer Friday and i am never disappointed with your offerings...the most challenging aspect is trying to pick a favourite, always a headache:-) the theme of navy and crisp winter white is a hit with me for sure, I particularly love the effects on sample one, its stunning and just edges it for me in design. I adore snowflakes and this frame is fabulous, i love how you have created a second layer with it, would never have thought of that myself....i must admit to having to read the instructions more than once though before it eventually became clear, in my defence I hadn't been up long:-) Sample two is perfect for batch making and is really eye catching, love the swirly tail extending from the star. Beautiful samples, giving me plenty of ideas for my own Christmas cards, thanks.
Going to make this short and sweet because you are about to demo on Hochanda and i am loving the ideas for the gingerbread man and house....they are actually the only dies apart from the 3D Fireplace that I haven't bought yet from the festive collection, i didn't immediately take to them if I'm honest but, as ever, your demos have the power to change my mind:-) Really enjoying your shows, cant wait until tomorrow and Sunday to see the others in action too, particularly looking forward to Julia demoing your weaving dies. Enjoy the ride Sue!
Maureen, yes, I'm pleased, my Mum can relax a bit now, she's always worrying about me:-( Hope you are well too honey, and lovely George....what a saint that man is:-)
Donita, thanks for the hugs bestie, hope the weathers improved down your way....no more photo opportunities down the beach during a storm i trust. A thought, why do people walk their dogs in such conditions, I'm always afraid that a strong gust of wind will carry Darcey or Brodie away!
Rosemary, i think you've outdone me on the ticket front:-) i hope you enjoy both your evenings, something to get all glommed up for!
Saba, i must admit to being ever so slightly jealous as I pull on my winter coat and brave the elements:-) it sounds gorgeous! Yes, i can confirm that I will be joining Mother at the Strictly show:-) i plan to behave like a star by getting my hair and make up done for the occasion and also an entirely new outfit. It may prove to be an expensive evening but it is so worth it:-)
Pam, ive ran out of words to describe your boss and her appalling attitude, i think contacting your Union is the best way forward. Hope you are well honey and your hand is healing.
Missing the demo so i will send oodles of cuddles to all my blog besties and anyone who fancies a hugxxx

Hello Sue,

I've been " constructing " wise men today and creating red poinsettias with the red glitter kiss! Wow - it's lovely!
I'm sorry I haven't read the posts today as I've been busy , not just crafting,!
Sending love to all my friends on the blog! So many lovely ladies!
Lots of lovely ve Myra, ( Friend of Maureen!!) xxxx

Hi Sue,

You are spoiling us today with these two beautiful cards that show again your talent. Love both designs and the colors palette, but I have to confess the first one is my favourite. The Frosty Frame die is gorgeous no matter if it used on its own or combined with other dies like in this sample. The second card is lovely, great to make it if you have little time.
Have you pictured Holly Swirl as a tail of a star when you created it? How clever is that! How many of us would have used it this way without this sample? For sure not me. This card proves again how versatile your dies are. Thank you for sharing your talent with us, Sue.

Pam – Sorry to hear you still have problems at work. On the plus side, if is there any consolation, you won’t see your manager for at least 2 weeks.
Donita – JS has better prices but delivery time is longer.
Elaine- I sent you a big and gentle hug for each health problem that you have. (and some people think I am cold person:) )
Laine – Always pleased to hear good news, even from you :) Does your mum know about the tickets or is it a surprise gift?

Be happy, healthy & have a great weekend,
Still a newbie to Craft / not longer the newest, or the only Canadian Wilsonette

Two gorgeous cards. Love the navy on both cards. The second one with the Star and the trimmed Holly Swirl will be very useful for my last-minute rush to make enough cards.
Take care everyone.

I love both of these cards Sue and truly wish I had time to try at least one of them. I'm right in the middle of packing to move house and I treat myself every morning by reading all the comments on this blog. Sometimes it takes me till noon as I have to use my big magnifier
in order to see them.
Love and hugs.
