Thankful For You

Hi bloggers!  This sentiment is for all of you!!  I started this card by doing an embossed background using the Jacobean Floral folder on a piece of white card.  Next I cut a wide band of aqua card and stamped the Stamp To Die For (STDF) called Strawberry Swirl all over it using a clear perfect medium pad to get a watermark look. I dusted it with some silver mica powder for a soft look to it (you can see better in some of the close ups)  I matted it with white and peach and added it across the centre of the embossed card.  Next I stamped it again on to white card with a Black Archival ink pad.  I used Distress markers to colour the image (tumbled glass, peacock feathers, mustard seed and Tattered Rose)  I cut it out with the matching die called Azores from the Atlantic Ocean collection and mounted it with foam in the centre of the card.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the centre die from the Atlantic Tag die set.  I added it to the centre of the stamped image with foam.  The card was completed with white, peach and aqua mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 1/2" in size.

As the last week or so has been a complete whirlwind with Ally Pally and the takeover shows, then I filmed videos for a couple of days, I have completed forgotten to mention my exciting news!  I was recently notified that I have been nominated in several categories for the Craft Awards.  I have been recognised and nominated for best Die Cutting Line, Best Overall Designer for 2017 and Best Craft Blog.  I am very excited to have been nominated and would like to ask everyone to please place a vote for me.  You can find the awards here by clicking this link.

Phill Martin, part of our Creative Expressions demo team has also been nominated in several categories (Favourite craft celebrity, best workshops and best stamp line) and Creative Expressions has been nominated for best international craft range and best craft show (Ally Pally).  I would love to hear that you have ticked the boxes for all of these as well!  The winners will be announced in early 2018 so there is plenty of time, but don't forget to vote!

Love this gorgeous card. Hapoy to see you and Phil inmates, already voted for you. Good luck, you deserve it Sue.
Maria, my friend has fibromyalgia so I do sympathise with you. It is a horrible illness and sometimes hard to recognise as mr friend looks so healthy. Take it easy and rest, thinking of you.
Elaine, hooe Andrew is well. Good to hear you are sleeping better too. Get your coffee morning organised, it will be good for you to get together. Hope Andrew feels better after his top up.
Yvonne, hooe your neighbour is feeling better, lucky she had you. You be careful or you will end up in the next bed to her, we don't want that.
Saba, can't believe your trip is almost over, glad the weather is now allowing you to enjoy the beauty of Croatia.
Elaine Ann, welcome back, sorry you have been poorly, hope you feel better now.
Laine, thanks for the support, funny thing is she isn't a horrible person. Just not a good manager, she said yesterday she has no time for illness, she used to tell her sons just to get on with it. She doesn't think before she speaks or realise the impact her words can have.
Carmen will have to google your destination, haven't heard of that but I hooe you enjoy it.
June hooe your craft club/coffee morning went well. Lots of laughter I can imagine.
Hugs to all, especially our missing, poorly friends and their carers too.

Morning Sue. I don't know what to comment on first, your gorg sample or my excitement about your announcement ☺ either way what a lovely start to the day. Your sample today just goes to show how not only the dies you cleverly design but the Stamps To Die For designed so beautifully to match the dies do all the work for you. Such a restful background but then the centre focal point just drinks you in, I love the close up's you give us, shows so much detail of the stamp.
I'm chuffed to bits for you, Phill, and the CE company as a whole. Every category you've been nominated for is well deserved, and at last some recognition for your own brand of dies, congratulations for that massive acheivement. We appreciate just how much love, care, and attention to detail you put into your die collections, how you love your blog and the comments you read about your samples, it all shows and it's lovely to read that although you feel it's not work but 100% love and enjoyment your passion shines through and now it's time you are rewarded for what you bring to me and us, I know I can be a real nuisance at times lol but I've no idea where my crafting would be without your tools and samples etc that help me grow. So as a really BIG thank you for all the above I will, like all the UK followers be voting for every single category you're nominated for, the same goes for the CE team and company as a whole. It's a long time to wait, but gives plenty of time to gather the 1000's of votes you all deserve. Now I've said my piece I'll leave you with the usual xxx

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, such a beautiful card today, I love the colouring you have done on the stamp, it shows what a professional you are. Oh yes I have already voted for you in the categories and I hope you win because you deserve it more than anyone else I know.

Pam I reiterate all you have said above. The crafty group went really well yesterday, I donated 10 different dies for the raffle and they were all picked out, such a worthy cause. Bev will be doing another one tomorrow at her home, then we will find out how much she has raised but we really did have a good laugh.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Dear Sue,

Well done! So happy for you! Chuffed,as Stephanie Cotterill said. I'd like to echo what she wrote, and I only wish I could have written it! Nicely put.

Sue, it's such an honor to be part of your winning community.

On today's card, I love the colors and the soft watermark background with mica powder.

Sunnybec and Diane H, welcome! We might as well start you off with love and huggles, which is how Crewe Trish's granddaughter settled the debate over hugs and cuddles.

Maria, so sorry about your fibro flares. Go easy.

Saba, I found your island on the google map. Do you keep your boat in the water at the closest point to Germany and drive to vacation on it? Or do you tow it from home and put it in a body of water you want to explore.

Carmen, I'll look up your vacation destination next. It's funny that people get us mixed up sometimes, but now I'm doing it, too. At any rate, between the two of us, apparently, Her Highness has been good about staying visible on our radar screens.

I also had to look up these breakfasts everyone keeps talking about. Wow, June Smith, that was generous putting 10 dies up for raffle.

Huggles to all! Especially you, Rosemary and Crewe Trish,

Hello Sue,
What a stunning card, your colourist skill is amazing. I love the combination of colours you've used. The Jacobean embossed background really gives a beautiful backdrop to your focal image. I'm flying to the UK next week so will be able to cast my votes once I get there. Wishing you and your team all the very best for the awards, you truly deserve to win all the categories.

Pam you are a generous soul but I'm not sure your manager deserves your generosity.
Elaine, enjoy your McMillan coffe morning, a cause very dear to my heart, they were wonderful to my sister. Hope all went well with the wedding and Helen had a wonderful time.
Donita, we keep our boat in the water, near Zadar. She is a sailing boat so we are not able to trailer her. She is a Hallberg Rassy if you are interested.
Izzy don't listen to a word Myra says, I'm the quiet one of the gang!
Carmen when do you leave for Cuba? How very exciting.
We had a fabulous sail up to our home harbour today. Really strong winds and there were times when the boat was leaning so far my side was almost under water whilst my hubby was way up in the air looking down on me. Loved it! Was a bit hairy when we encountered a regatta coming in the opposite direction towards us though. Tomorrow we are heading up to Austria, travelling up the Croatian coast, crossing through Slovenia and Italy before arriving at our destination for the night.
Love and hugs for all, special one for Maria.

Hi Sue and everyone

What a lovely card. I love the colours and the watermarking. Isn't it amazing that sometimes when you look at photographs of embossed card it looks debossed, even though you know it isn't? I bought some stamps from your stall at Ally Pally, but have not tried them yet.

Congratulations of the nominations Sue, I have voted for you, Phill and Creative Expressions and Ally Pally. You so deserve to win. Seems a long time to wait though.

Been to the opticians today. My prescription has changed in both eyes. Strangely, they have improved not got worse. So when I use the new contact lenses I should be able to see close up much better as I was really struggling, even with reading glasses on.

Maria, so sorry to hear you are struggling with pain. Is this a new diagnosis or something you've had for a while? I hope you feel better soon x

Hello Sue and all Wilsonettes. I do like this card and am so tempted to buy the dies but I promised myself that I wouldn't buy any more until my house sale has gone through.
I voted for you and for expressions but what a long time you have to wait.

Love and hugs.

Elaine I hope you enjoy the coffee morning with the ladies, good for you. I know M&S are donating money from their coffee sales and are holding special events. It's such a worthwhile charity and very dear to a lot of people's hearts. Good to hear Andrew is being looked after and hope the BBQ went well xxx
