Shaded Corners Card

Hi crafters!  Today's video is a lovely card that is brought to life with a bit of inking!  Don't forget the impact that can have on your cards and projects!

I also would like to let you know that I am premiering my September die launch here starting tomorrow morning!  You know what that means??  Yes, giveaways!

The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous card, love it. Cool and frosty. Looking forward to the start of the new launch, it will be super.
Rosemary hooe you are okay. If you read the comments yesterday you will know how much you are cared about.
Pp your baking session sounded amazing, you had my mouth watering.
Laine, hooe your mouth clears up soon, must be so sore, a white chocolate brownie would be medicinal for you.
So glad Irma is slowing down but with another following on her tail it must be so scary still. Is it normal to have 3 bad hurricanes within such a short space of time in the same area, I haven't heard of it before. I hooe things get back to some normality soon for all those affected and homeless.
Work went okay, my HO said she thought I should work less hours to start with but my manager didn't agree, don't think she has grasped how ill I was. However I managed although quite tired so just rested at home. It was nice to be with my colleagues again and have someone to talk to through the day. I was surprised how few people were in, I know it is the end of the school holidays but with all who have left the place looked empty.
Hugs to all, thinking of all missing and poorly friends.

WOW what a fabulous card. Looking forward to the new release but we're off to Germany next week and I know there's no wifi where we are staying so hope I can pick up on my phone.
Went back to Asthma nurse yesterday and yet again had to wait to see GP. I have another week of extra strong antibiotics, have been referred for a chest X-ray and have to have tests for COPD in a few weeks although I was told I could go away next week so long as I tell my insurance company and things don't get worse, so that's good.
Hope you aren't overdoing it Pam. These managers have a lot to answer for.
Thoughts and prayers to all in need.
Crafty hugs,

Morning Sue,

Such a gorgeous card this morning, I will watch the video later when I have more time to appreciate all the work that you put into crafting cards to share with us.
Back ache all night equals waking up every time I had a spasm.

Elaine, I can understand your frustration in the PO losing your parcel. Since our village PO closed last year (it's now an Indian Restaurant), they moved their services into our Spar shop. Well there's never enough staff to serve and the amount of parcels that do not reach their destination is amazing. They once sent me to our Sorting Office who promptly told me all Spar had to do.... was to give me a form to fill in and send off for the PO to investigate. By the time I had got into town then joined the queue to speak to someone regarding my parcel, I arrived home over an hour 1/2 later. I was also told by the lady they were getting fed up with Spar staff doing that to customers. Strong words were given by them to Spar's managers. I always ask for my parcels to be signed for now so I know they will get to their destination.

Love 7 hugs

Hello Sue,

Pam, I can understand you enjoying the company but take it easy and don't go h*ll for leather. Your Manager is an idiot - but we knew that already!
Elaine, I hope your parcel eventually arrives safely. It's so annoying with all that time, effort and work - not to mention the cost of the wool - for it just to "disappear".
Rosemary, have a cuddle pet ((())). Hope you are looking in here for support.
Sharon C, I do that, read everything and then by the time I get to my post, it's gone - into the space where my brain used to be! I scroll up and down like the demented woman I am.
Cheryl, hope the Pantomime costumes are going well.
love to all

Hi Sue and everyone
I just had to comment today. What lovely people you are. Thank you all so much for your support.
PP I did go to my GP who sent me to see psychiatrist about my depression who told me " I will put you on a course you will have to wait 6-8 months!! You are on the right medication goodbye!!!! I was so horrified, mental health support is disgusting on Wales.Sendi g love and hugs thank you xx
Donita yes that is me with John Lockwood at Alley Palley last year there is also one with.me with Phil Martin. I do have one with Sue but it is on my daughter's phone so will have to down load it sending love and hugs.
Elaine can't believe the post office lost your beautiful knitted items. I'm sure they will turn up.We used to run a Post Office and were very conscientious. We even went to people's houses who were I'll send for Thier pension for them in the days of order books. Every Post Office has a form you can fill in and send off for lost mail
Make sure you fill it in asap. I believe there is a time limit until they consider a parcel lost. Thank you so much for your lovely message you are so kind.
Pam thank you too. Take things easy. Your manager needs the sack. Glad HO is helpful.
Diane Myra Maureen Pam Donita PP and all who I have missed you truly are great friends thank you so much.
Dragonsnap 2 I hope the tests get a good result for you. Enjoy your holiday. Love and hugs.
Sue I know you are trying to go to Florida today take special care will be thinking about you.
Had some good news yesterday my daughter Kirsty has had promotion and is now a store manager for Tesco s in a bigger store so pleased for her she works so hard doing 12 hour shifts a lot of the time where as my son who has mental health issues has got himself into trouble again and is on court today after bopping someone who he helped get off drugs and the drug supplier now that person is back on Heroin. I think he was frustrated but that is no excuse.
Sue I just love yesterday and today's card, will be trying both.
Love and hugs to you all xxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Sue,
This is such a pretty card. And thank you for reminding us what a difference a little shading can make. I sometimes forget and then could kick myself afterwards.
I'm not really a "blue" person but I love that shade. In fact, beginning to really like dark blue/white combo............ you are slowly winning me round to include blues in my colour spectrum.
AND YEAY, can't wait - it'll make me jump out of bed early in the morning, that's for sure. What am I talking about? Why, your premiering the new die collection.
Hugs, Rose

Donita Naylor said...

Dear Sue and Trembling with Anticipation Followers,

Yes, oh yes, oh yes!!! This card is doable! Substitutions allowed, I'm guessing. Nice to know that double sided tape is enough to keep ice flakes in place, and guessing that carefully applied distress ink might suffice for the soft color on the edge and showing through from behind the corners. And maybe a different selection for the focal element, for those of us who don't have that Rose oval.

So happy the September launch starts rolling out Wednesday.

Kudos Pam on surviving your first day back and recovering from it in time to try your second day back.

Beg pardon Jess Watson, but how do we know it's Maureen and Patricia's birthday? Perhaps you are privy to inside information? Many Happies to both of you! May you each have a week with a high frequency of cake.

Here's a little hello for you, Rosemary Powell. We love you! We want to hear what you think of the launch samples, starting tomorrow.

Crewe Trish, I hope you're enjoying your cruise. We love you, too.

Maureen Killen, I'll keep an eye out for your niece. What is her name, in case she steps away from Vancouver and strays about 3,000 miles east?

Sharon Casey, me too. Information goes in and swirls around, enjoying itself but not landing on anything with a handle that I can use to retrieve it.

My feeling about 9-11 this year is grateful that we're getting some distance, that we have kept going and come this far. Well, not that we've made a lot of progress toward peace, but we don't have to keep reliving the horrors of that day. One year I interviewed a bunch of Rhode Island women who delivered their babies that day, and those babies are now 16, old enough to be driving.

Remember to breathe, fellow followers. The launch will be here to greet us when we wake up Wednesday morning. (Or in Carmen and Stephanie in SC and my case, right before we collapse exhausted in our beds Tuesday night.)

Until then,

Princess Pixie! said...

Morning Sue
Can't wait to watch the video for this beautiful card (that is next on my agenda) x
Gorgeous colours - so pretty. I love the rose oval frame, it is so delicate x
My plans of making cards at the weekend were put on hold as I had quite a busy few days. Not got much planned over next week or so as mum and dad are coming to stay on Friday. My mum really enjoys sitting with me whilst I craft so bring it on x
The baking went well yesterday and muffins and brownies were demolished in a very short space of time x
I am sooooo excited for the launch. The new dies are amazing and my imagination has been working overtime with the endless possibilities and hours of fun to be had. Nothing better than you working your magic Sue x
Elaine - I remember 'The Rev' in the Communards. Brilliant sense of humour. Hope your parcel is located. So frustrating x
Donita - glad you got those dishes done. Lol. The memories of 9/11 are still so vivid and thought provoking for everyone x
Carmen - brief comment - you OK?
Stephanie K - hope the weather wasn't too bad x
Maureen - we've moved x
Laine - the white chocolate brownies were the first to go. Mind you if you had been here they wouldn't have made it out of the front door would they? You need to get your mouth sorted out. Sounds nasty. Can I suggest no talking will probably help. Maybe we shouldn't chat on Thursday! (I can dream), lol x
Littlelamb - you must be such a proud grandma x
Myra - you wouldn't get me anywhere newer the tent. Love watching but the contestants need a degree in construction these days x
Marie - moving is not a fun thing to do at any age. My parents who are 79 and 80 live in a large 3 bedroom house and really need to think about downsizing but it will be a huge undertaking. Thinking of you x
Pam - yes company is lovely but please don't overdo it. Your manager is an idiot x
Dragonsnap - you need to take it easy x
Rosemary - my first counselling sessions were a disaster because I just didn't click with the counselor. When my GP arranged things in conjunction with 'Mind' it really helped. Perhaps you could contact Mind directly and ask for their advice. Hang in there x
Well I did start this comment before 12! Lol. I'll shut up now. Sending happy thoughts and lots of love to everyone especially my blog besties x
Take care

Hi Sue, a lovely gentle card today. I like the way you inked the edges and corners to give a subtle touch of colour and the new iced frost looks to be quite static but is lovely and sparkly. Looking forward to the new launch as I only had a quick look at e-mails then promptly forgot what I had seen so that it will all come as a surprise from tomorrow.

Pam - take it easy!
Rosemary - Congratulations to your daughter on her promotion but I am sorry for the problems with your son. Is it CBT your doctor is referring you for? I do know there is a long waiting list as there are not enough qualified people available. Hang on in there and keep coming here.
PP - hope your friend's launch goes/went well. I meant to ask yesterday, please may I come to tea? Being an ex-Surrey girl I know how to behave :-)
Laine - I hope your poor mouth clears up soon but you really should see the dentist as the hole may be part of the problem.

Lovely card Sue, blue is my favourite colour so an ideal card for me but obviously can be done in other colours. I haven't peeped at your new release this time. This card is so pretty with the colors peeking out and the snow glittering around the edges. The Rose Oval is beautiful and easy to cut out. This die set is now one of my favorite dies to use - just lovely! The first time I used it was for a little grandmother's 97th birthday! I wish you could have seen the excitement in her face as she saw this birthday card.

lorraine eastwood said...

Good afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a really enjoyable and informative video featuring a truly spectacular card. I love the hint of iris coloured cardstock, it works so well with the coconut white. I don't have any of the dies featured but i am sure that they could be substituted for something similar to give the same effect. Wonderful card Sue, thankyou so muchxxx
So, the launch is tomorrow after all....i was nearly oh so right Yvonne....and i simply cannot wait:-) I don't have the strength of will not to look at your dies before the launch however, i do only examine them once to satisfy my curiosity so that i have all but forgotten them by the launch date and I am just as surprised as anyone to see them in all their glory. Seeing the delights that you create and your own vision for them is a true treat....i cant promise to be up at the crack of dawn to view it immediately upon publication though but i promise to catch up at some point during the day....i have an obscenely early hair appointment so i will be busy until the afternoon.
Had an appointment with the nurse for a repeat of my bloods which are still a bit wobbly...i also asked her advice on what appears to be a bed sore at the base of my coccyx.....she took a swab fearing that it is infected and put on a honey dressing with a very padded massive plaster. Sitting down is a real pain At the minute and i cant help but think that if i was an animal they'd probably put me down ! :-)
Pam, so glad you managed your 4 hrs without any ill effects, you are such a trouper....cant believe your manager though, they obviously have never experienced gall bladder problems or they would be far more sympathetic, just ignore them dear, they are a waste of space!
Maureen and Patricia, had no idea that it was your birthdays, you kept that very quiet....i guess that when you reach your vintage though Maureen you don't broadcast it anymore:-) have a lovely day ladies filled with pressies and oodles of cake.
Lynne, thanks for your kind message about Dante, i miss him every day and light a candle next to his picture on his anniversary, gone but never forgotten....
Rosemary, yes it is a frustratingly long time to wait for counselling and such a shame that your GP couldn't be more constructive. Try to keep talking to us if it helps in the meantime though, a problem shared is a problem halved after all. Huge congrats to your daughter on her promotion and good luck to your son in court, i do hope they are lenient for him.
Carmen, are you okay honey, miss your casual insults:-)
Yvonne, I'm always guaranteed an insult when you're around though:-) You are so right, that baking would never have stepped through the door on my watch but i am glad the launch was a success for your friend, a little bribery in the form of a sugar rush is perfectly acceptable in my book! Don't worry about my ability to chat with you on Thursday, nothing short of my mouth being surgically stitched up would stop me conversing with my bestest buddy:-)
June, I'm just a little bit jealous that i wont be there with you on Saturday, do give Sue an extra tight squeeze from me though:-) and enjoy your day.
Myra, sending you hugs dearxxx
Lots of love and hugs to my blog besties, may today be a happy one for you allxxx

Hi Sue,
Beautiful card. Love the soft colors, the pearls and the ice flake border. Once again you didn’t use black at all (beside the sentiment)!!!
Happy to see my favorite Samantha … isn’t this die a great addition? Thank you for the great video and tips.
Tomorrow is the BIG DAY. Looking forward to the start of the new launch! Good luck to you Sue, and to us!

Pam – Hope you aren't overdoing it. You need energy for the launch :)
Elaine – I understand your frustration. Hope the problem will be solved soon. Hugs.
Dragonsnap2 - Take care and enjoy your stay in Germany.
Rosemary P.- Good to see you back. This is the first step to fight your depression. We are here for you.
Maureen K. – Of course, I will keep an eye out for Carolyn. Toronto is only 5 hours away from Vancouver … by plane. Hope she will enjoy her stay in Canada. Wish her good luck to find a job.
PP – By the length of your comment I understand that you feel better. We needed the old you back. Muffins and brownies … not my favourites but I never had white chocolate brownie; it sounds yummy.
Laine – I am back, honey! The dentist can be a lady with delicate hands, but if you prefer a man (wondering why :)) then be a martyr, dear. I promise not be sorry for you when you'll decide to see a dentist.

Have a great day ladies,

Hello Sue,
I watched today's video and shook my head, thinking, why didn't I think of that? I know it's because I'm not you!! Now there's a profound start today! I do have the Dies you used except for the central one! I can adapt! Lol! Great card for posting as well and I'm already thinking Christmas Dies! Need to have a look through those! Thank you , Sue for another lovely card! Wishing you all the very best for tomorrow's Launch . I haven't really had a close look at what's on offer so will enjoy some surprises I think!
Hope everything works out tomorrow Sue! Thinking of you!
Pat L - it was bad enough having Patricia and Maureen on twin birthdays but now it's triplets!! We won't forget your Birthday now either! I hope you have all had a lovely day! You deserve it!
Laine - thanks for the hug! Sorry to hear about the potential bed sore! I hope it's been treated on time and you don't suffer too much! Like you I'm sooo looking forward to tomorrow! Mind you I won't be up at 6am!! You knew that though!
Donita - keep an eye out for Maureen's niece! I know you are a long way off but sense of direction is not a strong family trait!!
Rosemary - great to see you! Hang in there and for the next few days we'll be around all day!!! Who cares about housework? Me actually - but we'll get there! Multi- taskers R Us.
Pam - glad the day went ok - just hope you don't overdo things!
Ok! I'd better shush! Who said - thank goodness!
Love to all, Myra ( Friend of Maureen!!) xx

Hi Sue. I really love your card today !!! As always your video is fab too !!! You have used some beautiful dies. I love the look you have created with the Indonesian corner dies. They are very pretty and Lacey looking. The Samantha die is beautiful, as is the Rose oval die set to. The inking underneath the die cut areas makes the whole card look sort of dreamy. It is a really lovely effect. Using the ice snow is another lovely effect on this card. Thank you Sue for sharing your beautiful card today. I am very excited to find out that you are starting your new die release tomorrow !!! I know I will find it difficult to keep up with you Sue, but I will try my best !!! Sending lots of love to you Sue from Tres x x x

Hello Sue,
Love today's card, especially the shading behind the Indonesian corners, it really adds something to the overall effect. Thankyou for another informative video. I can't wait for tomorrow's launch, I have had a sneaky peek but but to see them being showcased is so exciting. Hope it's a fabulous success, but knowing your talent it will be.
Pam smile nicely at your idiot of a manager and then stick your tongue at her behind her back! Take it slowly this week at least.
Rosemary, it's been mixed news for you today. Keep your chin up, we are all thinking of you and sending you love.
Littlelamb congratulations to your little stars.
Yvonne I need one of your chocolate brownies!
Elaine I can feel your frustration from here. Hope your parcel turns up after all the hard work you put into knitting them.
Donita you'll recognise Carolyn if you bump into her, she'll be saying " weye eye man" a lot. It's what they say in Maureen's neck of the woods. Jess knows about the birthday girls because she is one of our naughty gang!
Carmen you NEED to try a white chocolate brownie!
Laine you poor love, what with yucky blood, a sore mouth and an equally sore derrière you must be fed up. Now it won't help your blood but salt water is good for sores- wanna come sailing with me? I was sad to read about yesterday's anniversary, sending you the biggest hug possible.
Birthday Girls Patricia, Maureen and Pat hope you have all had a wonderful day.
Myra I've set the alarm, I'll give you an early morning wake up call.
Love and hugs for all

Lovely card Sue. Will give this a try with slightly different dies. Brilliant video. Thank you. Looking forward to the launch tomorrow. Glad you are not giving me an early morning wake up call tomorrow because as you know I am as bad as Myra in the mornings. Thank you for the comment about my granddaughters. Yes they are stars. Love them to bits. Hope Maureen and Patricia had a good birthday today and from your comment sounds like Pat also had a birthday. Busy week for birthdays isn't it. Enjoy your sailing trip. Glad the first day back at work wasn't too bad Pam and echoing all your comments, Hugs to all who need them especially Rosemary. Thank you PP for your kind comments about my granddaughters. Did say thanks to everyone else last night. Quite late. Well best turn in if I don't want to miss the launch.

Hi Sue and everybody

What a gorgeous card Sue, love the colours too. Really enjoyed the video....and the bling!

I'm sorry I have not commented in such a long time. I was not well and had quite a few problems and was reluctant to whinge to you all, even though I know you would have been very supportive. I suppose I just wasn't in the right frame of mind. I am feeling so much better now, but admit to being nervous about joining in again.

However, I decided yesterday that I felt I was up to Ally Pally so booked my ticket and thought I'd bite the bullet now and say hello. I've lots to catch up on and wish everyone well who has been or is still ill.
I'd like to support Sue on her new launch and maybe even meet some of you at Ally Pally.

Love Helen xxx

Wow, it's amazing what a bit of inked color adds to this card. The beautiful, intricate dies are already gorgeous but the color brings out the design even more.
