Windswept Grasses

Hello bloggers!  Welcome back and to the final day of this Sept die launch.  Today is all about the Finishing Touches range starting with the windswept grasses die set.  There is a left and right facing grass die so you can use it in any direction that you need,  Shown here, you can see that it works perfectly to accent your floral elements.  This set can also be utilised for many other uses in your card making too. I know it will be a very handy set to have in your crafty arsenal.  Don't forget to leave your comment, tell me what you think or just which die has been your favourite so far, any comment will get your name in the drawing to win this set.  The second post of the day will be up for you to view at 12 noon.  Hope you can make it back then.  All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue,

A lovely and very different leaf style to previous ones.

To choose a favourite of this September launch is almost impossible! I have already purchased many of them and they have been arriving in the last few postal days. I'm very much looking forward to seeing more of your amazing examples using them.

I am also excited to see you on our tv screens this weekend! What delightful demonstrations do you have in store for us this time??

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, this is one of those leaf dies that will come in extremely handy indeed, sometimes you only need a narrow leaf behind your elements and this fits it perfectly, yes Sue I will be sniping away at mine when I get it.

Pam I reiterate all you have said above. hope the finger is feeling better.

Off to craft group this morning and we are doing our own thing, might take some jewellery to do.

What a start to the final day! I love the background to this card & will be interested to hear how this was done. A most useful addition to the finishing touches, trying to be practical I told myself I didn't need anymore finishing touches, but I hadn't thought of grasses, I don't have anything like these, so yes they are are going on the list. Thank you so much Sue for all your hard work & inspiration.

Donita Naylor said...

Dear Sue and Loyal Followers,

Ah, windswept grasses. Destined for my foliage file. They seem a little spikey with these pointy flowers, but they do have a lovely grace. And I bet in mixed-foliage sprays offsetting flowers, perhaps all done in white, their distinctive shape will contrast perfectly with tiny-leaf foliages.

If I had to pick ONLY ONE set to get from this release, it would have to be the first hexagons. Although I love the stitched animals and the cheeky monkeys, the stitched clouds and stars as well as the clouds you can snip from the fairy and hot air balloon snow globes, plus Victoria, Scarlet and Ella, and Sagitta and Columba, they merely add even-more-lovely variations of what I've already got. So I'll start with the hexagons. And then indulge in adding more of what I've already got enough of.

For those of us in North America, the end of the launch means our suppliers will soon offer them. Talk about pent-up demand!

Also, it will be nice when the blog gets back to "normal" and we can get to know some of the new people.

Saba, I was going on no hours sleep when I posted Tuesday, and only got three hours after that. By sunk, I just meant that so many dies were insisting on me owning them, especially the fabulous Columba, that I might as well give up on ever retiring. I didn't mean to be insensitive when you were at anchor in big weather. We're getting big waves from the approach of Jose. My Tuesday assignment was Jose-related. I got soaked in the rain and used up my iPhone battery trying to capture a tremendous wave and people watching it. That's hard. Jose isn't even near, and he's only a tropical storm, but people all trooped to one town's coast to see big waves and watch surfers ride them. It was like a sunny day at the beach, judging by how full the parking lot was, only it was raining and almost dark. Everybody and their dog strolled along the sea wall to look at the waves and sometimes get splashed.

Speaking of Tuesday,

Poppyfield Card Crafts, you noticed rosebuds on the Columba card, which I had completely missed. Where the heck were rosebuds? So I took another look, And ...

... Theresa Pace, you said something about frondy bits near the flower. Both of you together solved the mystery for me, which was that the cluster was snuggled up against Columba, and it only has one flower instead of the three on the other clusters. And for The Columba sample, Sue used a rosebud instead of the flower that comes with the cluster. Yes, those frondy bits are quite nice. I bet we see them today.

Happy Last Day of the Launch, you Dearie Pies. We shared something tremendous, didn't we? Sue, look what you have done. Not just dies that are ahead of their time, and an award-winning blog, and a rich archive of samples and tutorials, but also us.

Love,
Donita

Donita don't worry, I didn't think you were being insensitive, it actually made me chuckle. Our gale force winds never materialised so we had a quiet night. Even so they would have paled I to insignificance compared to the awful storms you are having over there. My heart goes out to all those poor people who have lost everything. Hi Sue. WOW !!! What a wonderful card to start the last day of your new die launch. The windswept grasses dies look fabulous !!! I want to thank you so much for giving us a left and a right hand die for these leaves. In doing so you give us so much greater versatility, and personally I think that it is designing like this that puts you, as a designer, into a league of your own that no one else even comes to !!! You think of all the important stuff which enables the crafter to get so much more from their die set. I did not think I wanted / needed any more in the way of leaf sets but oh my word, was I wrong !!! The windswept grasses are unlike any dies I already own. They look incredibly classy and elegant as far as leaves go. I have added these to my "must have" wish list. I love everything you have shown us in this new launch, and I think it your most versatile launch ever. You have catered for everyone's taste, for every occasion, from babies to children, teenagers, women and even those difficult men !!! Choosing a personal favourite, now that is much more difficult. Top of my list is all of the Hexagons, also the new weaving die, then all of the necessities collection for the babies, children and men, the list is just endless with your new launch. Thank you for sharing another wonderful card and fabulous windswept grasses dies !!! Sending lots of love to you Sue from Tres x x x

Hi Sue,

What a way to start the first post of the last day of your blog launch new collection! This card is fabulous. Love the colors and the background. I hope you’ll show us how you made it. And again, delicate finishing touches die set, it really has so much potential. Very clever to make them asymmetrical and give us two, I love symmetry. It's going to be a great last day! Thank you, Sue.

Have a great day everyone,

I think that the Finishing Touches are my favourite type of dies, perhaps they are so useful also with little creations as tags and labels, or even mixed with any other design and dies... and LOVE these windswept grasses leaves!! Fabulous linear style!!
So useful mixed with other leaves and flowers!!! Great release!

Hi Sue and everyone.
Love your colourful happy card and the leaves do make it so
much more with the gorgeous flowers. Another die that would
be very useful for many cards. TFS Sue and thank you for all
the great stamps and dies you making.

Hugs to all who need some.

I love the hexagon die sets, the tags, and the Gemini dies best. I know that's rather broad but I have problems deciding on favorites. These dies are most versatile so I need to start there and then add more specific sets like the adorable tool box and oh, the peg board.... want that one. Sue, you make decisions hard.
Can't wait to have some of these goodies available here.
Love to all. Keep Peurto Rico in your prayers,

Good afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a gorgeous card sample, the colours are so rich and vibrant....cant wait to see how you achieved that beautiful background, the colour and design is so cheery, it has really brightened up what has turned into a dismal day in Stirling:-)
The finishing touches as a range are endlessly useful and these cute grasses are no exception....its always the same, you tell yourself that you really don't need anymore in your collection however i am just so easily persuaded when you create a die that is so unlike its predecessors. Sad that the launch is coming to an end, however it will be great to see if we have any new commenters and to hear everyone's news again.
Picking a favourite from the launch is like asking me which of my fur babies i love the most:-) if i had my way i would do an Yvonne and buy the entire release but since i am so high maintainance in other ways i will have to buy them gradually. I think i would prioritise the hexagon dies, peg board, all the Gemini dies, edgers and cute stitched animals and cloud, however, i certainly wont stop there.....:-)
I'm off to catch up on all the comments before my next post

Love and crafty hugs
