Just For You

Hi crafters!  Another window box card for you and I do believe this is the last one that I have to share with you too!  I started by embossing a piece of milk card with the Crackle Embossing Folder (one of the first embossing folders by Creative Expressions) for texture.  I used some Frayed Burlap distress ink over the top to highlight the lines of the emboss, then added a wide strip of kraft card to the bottom of the card.  I cut the window frame and shutters out of kraft card.  I added a wisteria valance to the inside of the window, then backed it with milk card that I inked with Mustard Seed to give the appearance of a glowing light in the room.  I cut the 3D Window Box die out of kraft card and inked through t he die with Frayed Burlap, then assembled.  I added the flowers cut out of green (for the stems) then cut the flowers again in an assortment of colours and cut just the flower off the top and added them to the stems.  I finished it with an assortment of green coloured vinery form the same set.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Jessica die and added it with foam to the bottom of the card.  Milk and kraft mats were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous card Sue, so lovely. Love the way you have arranged the flowers.
Sue, I hope you are safe in the UK, Irma is going to wreak havoc over Florida and all in her path. Those poor people who have to live through that.
Donita, George thought it too much for Robbie so as a family he, Mary, Robbie and Alex did an extended holiday travelling round those states so that Robbie did get there. They all had great fun.
Mavis, hooe you are now feeling a lot better, hospitals are certainly not designed for rest, you will feel better at home.
Marie, lovely surprise from your granddaughter, congratulations to her.
Bejay, hooe you find Minx soon, such a worry.
Crewe Trish, hope you had a lovely birthday, and glad the cruise is going ahead. Stay safe and enjoy.
Cheryl, anither busy period fir you again, hooe the panto prep goes well.
Thank you all for your kind concerns, I hope I'm doing the right thing although my daughters are in your camps. I do feel slightly pressured into returning but also I feel as if I need to try for myself to see if I can manage. I promise I will take care, you are all so good to me.
Daily hugs to all, thinking iof all poorly and missing friends.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, yes another beauty today, look at the sharpness of the embossing from the dies on this card, just goes to prove how good your dies are, another wonderful keepsake.

Pam I reiterate all you have said above, and yes still worried about you so please, please take it easy next week, you don't want a relapse do you.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Morning Sue. As much as you love Florida I'm hoping and praying (like we all are) that you are safe in the U.K.

What curb appeal, wouldn't you just stand for ages gazing at such beauty if this window box was on your route home, or pull over in the car to admire it's amazing selection of colourful summer bedding soon to be full of Autumn/winter flowering pansies and violas (now that's an idea Sue, additions to use in this window box plus your shadow box) what do you think ? I'm still ashamed to admit I've not used my window box die yet ! They would make such lovely New Home cards for market, so what am I playing at for goodness sake, will put a note to self on my shelf in my little room for when I'm fully back in action.
Until then, my love and hugs are on their way and I hope you have a day of happiness and laughter. Like many, I'm really quite anxious and worried should you be over seas xxx

Morning Sue. This is a gorgeous card. I love the little piece of valance at the window. The flowers are beautiful and so detailed. This would make a fantastic New Home or Get Well card. Another one for me to try for my box of stash. Thinking of all them poor people who are having to battle with the hurricanes . It must be devastating for them.
Best Wishes.

Such a gorgeous card. It is a work of art. Love the colours x
My sister and hubby completed on their new house yesterday and I think you have just helped me (as you always do) with inspiration for their card x
What a delight this card will be to receive x
I am still in the taking things slowly zone so as not to revert back to the completely useless zombie like state of the last few weeks. I am planning to treat myself to a bit of card making at the weekend. The housework desperately needs attention but will participating in strenuous hoovering and scrubbing make me happy? Card making will cause great feelings of excitement and hysteria so it's a no brainer x
Pam - sounds like you are the only one who doesn't think your return to work is too hasty. Does it have to be this Monday? Please look after yourself. Big hugs x
Diane - 3 mornings in a row - are you impressed? Hugs x
Cheryl - which pantomime is it to be this year? Oh no it isn't, lol. I love panto. Hugs x
Fluffy - the terrible 2!! That would be Laine and who is the other member of that duo? Hugs x
Donita - when I give 1 person a hug I had to give them to everyone. Don't want anyone to feel left out. HUGS to you x
Rosemary - strictly can't come soon enough. Love the excitement of the first show when we find out who will be paired up. Lights, sequins, camera, action - bring it on. Hugs x
Marie - what a wonderful surprise. Technology is amazing. Hugs x
Bejay - hope Minx is home very soon. Hugs x
Maureen - friends? Me and Laine? Questionable!!! My eternal quest to shake her off is proving futile. Hugs x
Carmen - I am a true friend - no ulterior motives! Unlike some I could mention - the wolf!!! Lol. Hugs x
Laine - your praise of my culinary expertise during your stay last year was constant. So why are you attempting to tarnish my well earned 'queen of the scabby potato' reputation. You ate your body weight in this particular crunchy delight whilst you were here! And have you forgotten my white chocolate brownies? When we met up with Sue at Ally Pally it seemed like you were trying to outdo Sue in the 'who can eat the most' contest. Prepare for a severe telling off this evening!! Hugs x
Saba - made the mistake of giving Laine my number a long time ago. If only I had known then what I know now things would be so different. Hugs x
Off to meditate in preparation for that phonecall this evening! I am sure there is some paint somewhere that is drying. Watching that appeals to me more than Paine's weekly drivel x
Sending happy thoughts and lots of love to you all especially my blog besties x
Take care

Dear Sue and Caring Crafters,

I swear those shutters look real! Great idea with the mustard to seem like a glow from within. You have done three window/door cards that I can think of, and each time the house exterior was different. One used a stone mask, one was stucco but I forget how you achieved it, and this with the crackle embossing folder. Woo!

This is such s newsy group.

Glad to hear, Pam, that your nephew got an enjoyable and comfortable trip Out West.

Happy Birthday Crewe Trish, and wow, what a birthday present, Vegas, Grand Canyon, a chance to see post Harvey Houston and a cruise! Plus a nice dinner.

Bejay, I'm so hoping Minx comes home like nothing happened. I've been there too. I try to let go of him in my heart, and be grateful for the time I had, but I want lots more time. To see him again is such a joy! Freedom comes with danger, and the risk is that letting them loose might shorten their life. But shutting them up reduces their quality of life. IMO.

Arlyn, are you new? Welcome!

Maureen Killen, please thank George for me as if he'd done my dishes. The help is very much appreciated.

Love,
Donita

Hi Sue,
What a pretty card, I love the lace at the window, what a great touch. I always think kraft card gives such a great effect on a card.
Donita: I think you're right. My sister said Minx isn't destined to grow old as he's way too adventurous...at 6 months he was up on the roof of the bungalow! I got him on September 1st last year so if he doesn't get home, I hope I gave him the best 12 months he could get anywhere.
Rosemary: I hobbled around the area yesterday stuffing leaflets through doors, Misty, the dog, came along and Bud, my older cat, came too. Since Minx has vanished, Bud is by my side all the time bless him. I believe that if he can possibly get home he will.
I'm thinking I need to do something crafty in his honour to keep my mind occupied. I've got some air dry clay so I may just get my hands dirty today lol.

Hi Sue, a lovely card with so much detail. I love using your window/door dies and welcome all of your samples. I have just made a birthday card for my niece with an opening door and her age as the house number:) and I used your vellum idea for the fanlight. Quite pleased with the result but I think she will like the tactile cats that live there best lol. I must find my stamp of tree lights for the interior view through the window for some Christmas cards. I hope you and your family are safe from the terrible storms and am thinking of everyone affected.

Crewe Trish - Happy Birthday and I hope you enjoy your trip to the Grand Canyon.
Bejay - so worried for you, I hope Minx comes home safe and sound very soon.

Hello Sue,
What a super card, really draws you in to be warmed by the firelight glow. I love it.
Pam, are you sure about going back on Monday? If you do go in, listen to your body and you'll be home by 9.30 a.m. Take care. I'm pleased that Robbie got to see the Grand Canyon and other wonderful sights, he deserves every happiness.
Donita, believe me George is useless. Well he does cook good meals and he mows the lawn, but anything else - well!!! Take no notice of Diane and the others in the gang, they just see him at his best (which is usually comatose in the armchair ha ha). Still I've stuck with him for nearly 51 years so I suppose he can't be that bad, but the glue is starting to soften lol.
Pat L, oh I'm so annoyed, but I've been out most of the day and didn't read your comment, otherwise I could have taped it. I'll try to see if I can watch it on catch up. I'd love to see this wonderful child.
Myra, I'm so pleased you told us about the cricket zzzzzzzzzzz ha ha. (You know I love it too.)
PP, Myra gets up very early every morning (in her dreams) and could easily post by lunch time if she wanted ha ha. Enjoy your tedious chat with Laine, try to be nice to her and listen to what she says. I know it's hard but you can do it.
Laine, oh my dear, I'm so sorry that you have to phone "you-know-who" but if you don't, who will? Try not to fall asleep while she drones on, and on, and on, and ...... Pretend to be interested ha ha.
Crewe Trish, belated Birthday wishes and have a wonderful holiday.
Cheryl, I meant to say good luck with all the costumes, which Pantomime are they performing this year?
Bejay, I hope you get good news soon of Minx.
Rosemary, you have such a wonderful way with Dah Dah Dah's ha ha.
Love to all, take care ladies.
