Christmas Double Day

Hi bloggers!  I have mixed a bit of the old with the new for this first card in our double day.  I couldn't help but pull out the Vertical Peace die from my very first Christmas release as I thought it just went so well!  I started by covering a piece of coconut white card with three shades of Distress Oxides; Fossilised Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Fired Brick.  I cut both the Ray of Light Background and the Vertical Peace die out of this piece so I had matching colours running through both of them.  I backed the background with black card and attached it to a larger piece of white card.  I cut the Peace die in black and used it as an offset shadow and mounted it along side the background.  I cut the Three Wise men die and added a black backing by embossing it and then using that to hand cut it.  I completed the card with white and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8 1/2" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

Card number two was created while I was having a play with several colours of Glitter Kiss.  I started by using the Snowflake mask on a piece of white card.  I used both the Ice Blue Glitter Kiss and the Periwinkle Glitter Kiss through the mask.  The snowflakes are fairly thin so they did not get a thick coverage of the Glitter kiss, but I liked that it added some colour to the background.  I wanted a bit more texture so I embossed it with the Snowflake Mosaic folder when it dried.  I inked lightly around the edge with Broken China distress ink.  I cut the Lace Snowflake in white and stamped a sentiment in Cobalt Blue Archival ink.  I used the same colours of Glitter Kiss on another piece of card and then cut the frame out of it (once it was dry).  I mounted the sentiment in the centre of the Lace Snowflake, then cut some poinsettias out of the same piece of glittered card.  I added two poinsettias and some Berry Bough to the corner as accents.  White on white mats were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7" in size.  Two completely different cards, but I hope you enjoyed them both!  All for now, Sue x
