Gorgeous card Sue, so bright and Christmassy.
Congratulations to our winner Catherine, lucky lady.
Elaine, belated congratulations on your 54th wedding anniversary, it is such a shame that John can no longer remember these dates. He would be so upset if he knew. You have good memories of when things were different. I hope Andrew finds something suitable for his diet, I do think the hospital dietician should be able to help. Has he tried the lactose free milk. Loved Laines suggestions. I make up a kilner jar with porridge oats, fruit and yoghurt, leave in fridge overnight to soak through, that is a slimming recipe and is delicious.
Pat, well done to Sarah, she is a little trooper, she doesn't let anything stop her. I know how proud you are of her.
June so glad you had a good time at Betty's, I always feel it is a real treat.
Saba, enjoy your trip round that beautiful area next week too.
Little lamb, hope your family got home safely, what tales they will have to tell.
Have a great weekend all, hugs all round especially for our poorly and missing friends.

Donita Naylor said...

Dear Sue and Loyal Commenters,

Video days and two-fers really spice up the week. The poinsettia star decorative center really does make a lacy background, and how clever to use white on white inside the treat cup for contrast. I could swear the still photos show little stars inside the treat cup, not just white and clear beads. Wish we could get star-shaped glitter jewels over here in the Western Hemisphere.

My poinsettia dies arrived this week. Like the old cartoons used to say, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Well done to Catherine Lyons!

Elaine, congratulations on your anniversary, even if you did have to do all the remembering. He's still there to hug, and he still knows who you are. And he has an excellent record for all the years before this. So sorry, though, about the heartache of losing him. Just because it's slow-moving doesn't make it less of a loss. As for breakfast, how about almond butter on a banana? Cut the banana in half along its length, spread almond butter or cashew butter on the flat, then put the other half back on. You could even stick some chocolate chips in there, or mix in some Nutella. Shaved steak, onions and mushrooms, stir fried, over rice. Can he do quinoa? (Pronounced keen-wah). It's a super grain that you cook like rice. It makes little circles instead of rice shapes. Fried polenta is also good, no dairy or wheat there. You can use tomato sauce like gravy if you want, or butter and syrup. Also, pumpkin pie. You can make it with a nut crust. Or just pumpkin purée flavored with orange juice concentrate, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Blueberry pie filling is wonderful warm on top of ricotta cheese on toast, or whatever he substitutes for toast -- rice cracker or cereal bar. Pumpkin and blueberries are both super foods. Grapes, dates and nuts. Avocado, as others have suggested, would go good with that. Lots of cultures eat fish for breakfast. Salmon is good, and it's another super food. It doesn't have to be lox and cream cheese. Just part of a salmon steak, baked or pan-fried. It's awful if you overcook it, though. How about a baked potato drenched in no-bean chili?
Izzy, sorry I didn't catch that I garbled your name yesterday. I was congratulating you on being quick to realize that Sue's Pixie Powdered leaf card resulted in three fabulous Pixie Powdered leaves for another project.
June Smith, You really got the royal treatment, didn't you! I wanted to see your pictures from the tea at Betty's, but I didn't see them on your Facebook page, and there was not a place for me to request your friendship.
Laine, is that an expression, or did you just make it up, about slapping you on the bottom and calling you Trevor? You were on fire Friday!
May everyone's Saturday be enjoyable, even if only for a minute, and may everyone get home safe from their travels.

Hi Sue. I am sorry it is so very late !!! Insomnia again as usual !!! Just to quickly say that I really LOVE todays card !!! Great colours that you have used and FAB dies to. Hi Sue,
Beautiful card and great video as always. I love shaker cards but I've never made one yet. I’ll plan to make one soon, using the star treat cup or the heart shape one, for a little boy who is turning two in December.

Congrats to Catherine Lyons!

Elaine – Hope Andrew felt better today. I was touched to see that so many ladies tried to help, giving you so many ideas for Andrew’s breakfast! This proves again how amazing this blog is and how much we care about each other even most of us never met.
Thank you Sue, for give us not only a daily dose of creativity and inspiration that feed our souls, but for giving us a chance to care, to answer to somebody’s pain or call for help. Without you all these won’t be possible. And for all the above you have a special place in everybody’s heart.

Hugs to you all,
