You Are The Best

Hi there my crafty friends!  You may have seen this one recently on some of Phill's shows!  I started by cutting two of the Petite Petal Striplet die in white.  At the same time I cut the white ones, I added another piece of black card behind the white card and it embossed the design into the black card while almost cutting through the outer shape, leaving me with a backing piece to use.  I had to nip a small area with my scissors.  I offset the white ones onto the black backing and then paper pieced the areas within using blue dusk, white card and glittered white card.  I glued them onto a larger piece of coconut white card on each edge.  For the focal element, I cut the Scarlet die in white and backed it in Blue Dusk card.  I cut the Victoria die in both black and white and cut them in half, the white one through the shorter side and the black one from the longer side (if that makes sense)  I attached the white one behind the Scarlet and then added the black cut pieces behind both of them.  I cut a smaller piece of white card and added a thin black mat and added it to the centre of the card (between the striplets) with foam, then attached my focal element.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with the centre of the Scarlet die, adding a cut black mat behind it.  White, black  and blue dusk mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  9" in size.

Just a quick note to let you know that the 2017 Autumn die release launch starts tomorrow here on the blog at 6am!  There are 29 dies to give away this time around.  I can't wait to share them with you!  All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue,

I have just ordered this striplet die and I’m awaiting its arrival, so thank you for sharing another inspiring example of using it.

I am very much looking forward to the release of your new dies, having seen a sneaky peak online.

I have loved having a play with the tool box dies earlier this week. The video showing the creative background with masking tape is my next project using them. I spent a whole day creating the tools so I have a good stock of them ready to ‘go’.

All for now. I’m off to work shortly. Have a good day!

Love,

Dear Sue and Loyal Commenters,

The cool ideas that I liked on this sample are having two whites in the petals striplet, one plain and one glittered, and cutting the white Victoria in half one way and the black Victoria in half the other way.
About pinning samples to Pinterest, I have to say that's how I first found out about you. I couldn't believe how beautiful those cards were, so I Googled and eBayed and started discovering.
Today I glitter-kissed some different colors of red for poinsettias, played with pink and autumn Pixie backgrounds and made some Distress winter skies for behind the birches. Some people express their creativity with art -- I express my freedom from having to concentrate. Just hope eventually I end up with all the bits I need.
The power's out. Hope it's back on in time to shower, which will be around your dinner time because I work an evening shift. Like Muriel Kelly, we have to wait longer now that you guys have set your clocks back, only we're at the other end as Muriel. Instead of arriving at 1 a.m. Eastern, the 6 a.m. blog post arrives at 2 a.m.
The newest stamper in our group gave me a compliment as we were packing up, but the compliment really belongs to Sue. She said I really have nice dies. I enthusiastically agreed, saying, Aren't they great! Then I remembered my manners and thanked her.
Izzy, no I didn't get the green bean recipe but besides green beans and thin-sliced almonds, it seemed to have a little vinegar.
Well, here we go on another week.
Love,
Donita

Good Evening Sue. What a pretty card. I had trouble getting hold of this striplet die, but it was worth waiting for. I do have a TV and I am broke. In fact my husband has cut up my credit card as he is worried by the number of parcels arriving each week. All contain craft items, but as I tell him, Shoes, clothes, handbags etc hold zero interest for me. He even cuts my hair - because I don't care. Some men don't know when they are well off. He doesn't know I have pre ordered some of the new release of your dies.Heh Heh. You have been an inspiration to me Sue and I could and do, spend all day in my craft room immersed in creating. Thank You.
