Christmas Double Day

Hi crafters! Two completely different cards using some of the same dies for today's double day.  For the first card I selected an aqua card background and embossed it with the Poinsettia Trellis embossing folder.  I added small white pearls to the centres of all the flowers on the embossed background (outside the focal element that is.)  Next I cut one of the Scalloped Snowflake frame and two Art Deco Snowflakes in white.  I cut a long strip of white card to create a faux buckle card.  It isn't actually woven between them, just made to look as if it is. I placed the strip over the top of the Scalloped snowflake die cut then under the Art Deco snowflakes at the edge.  I stamped my sentiment and covered it with a self adhesive sticky sheet.  I cut the inside of the Scalloped frame die in white and backed it in aqua card before cutting the centre of it out.  I added mounting foam, then peeled the backing off the sentiment and seated the frame over it.  I trimmed away the excess around it then sprinkled the Diamond Snow on it through the frame and attached it to the centre of the card with foam.  I added three small pearls on either side of the strip and completed the card by add white and aqua mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  9" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

Card number two was begun by embossing a piece of ruby red card with the Wild Poinsettia embossing folder.  I used red glitter kiss over the negative side of the embossed piece and grouted the design.  I allowed it to dry well then made a multi layered frame to go over the top of it using the Double Pierced Noble Squares (both A and B sets).  Before attaching the frame, I cut the Scalloped Snowflake two times in white and cut them down the centre.  I used each section to extend from the frame inward.  I cut two more Scalloped Snowflake Frames in white and offset them and attached them to the centre of the card.  I stamped the sentiment and used the inner cutting die from the set to create a frame for it out of Ruby red card.  This one was also covered and glittered in the same method as the above card,  White and red mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  Which do you prefer; the frosty aqua one or the bold red card?  All for now, Sue x
