Best Wishes

Hi bloggers!  Today's card shows a completely different use for the Atlantic Ocean Background.  I cut one of them leaving a wide border.  I backed it with black card and then cut the centre out of it and then added mounting foam to the back of it.  I cut the die a second time, but cut the outer edge right around the edge of the die.  Next I used a piece of black gloss card and coated it with glue.  I tapped on various shades of pixie powders (Midnight blue, rich gold, olive green) until the entire glue area was covered, then I heated it.  I kept heating it until all the glue had bubbled and then finally stopped.  I used the Heated Pearl background and mounted the first frame over it.  I turned the second frame in to a diamond orientation and glued it into place.  I cut the Striped Nasturtium flower with a white backing and a black outline over the top.  I seated it on a white satin bow and added leaves cut from the Family Tree die.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Stitched Flags die set and attached it across the middle of the card, tucking the end under the flower.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  the finished dimensions are 7" x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. Firstly, thank you for my die that was chosen for me during the new launch, I gratefully received it yesterday, it's a lovely size and look forward to using it soon xx
This is what I call a Sue card. This kind of design is so adaptable to use for any or most occasions and for any gender and looks absolutely gorgeous in any colour choice. I really love how just one design using the same collection of dies can always look so different in a different colour scheme, brilliant.
Such a beautiful pretty sample today.
Sending much love and a day of laughter and happiness xxx

Laine So pleased you sound much better , even if you are a little pooped. xx

Carmen, i do hope you feel better still today ,please take care of yourself .xx

Pam , well what can i say about the Coffee Morning ," NO ONE MADE ANY CAKES " there were 2 bought boxes that did help , a lemon cake being one and a box of apple pies , lol however we had games of bingo and we all scurried around looking for a tin of this and that to make a hamper to raffle off , the main thing is we raised £77 35p for this worthy cause ,not bad as i only counted 17 of us altogether , all my cakes got eaten so i was pleased about that too .

Dear Sue and Christmas Crafters,

As nearly everyone has said, what an innovative way to use the pixie powders! How different the Atlantic Background looks in different colors! How ingenious you are!

Crewe Trish, I just meant that sometimes a good day is a matter of deciding which things to take in, which things to ignore, whether to complain or be grateful, whether to give ourselves a break or push ourselves further.

Carmen, the lack of depth in your workplace (only one backup for you) is a management problem, not a call for you to take risks with your health. I can scold, but I've done the same, although not as heroically as you.

Elaine and Saba, so Hecky Thump really is a regional expression! What a great fake name to use for anonymity. Although all you guys will know it's me.

Sunnybec, you must be new. Welcome to the group! We love you already.

Pam - excitement is mounting!! You are right! So looking forward to seeing everyone! Saba is brave and comes in the car with me! It's lovely to have company on a journey! I am so sorry Diane can't be with us but Emma's Birthday comes first! We will miss Diane lots though! Norah isn't coming either . She has been in touch but has had some difficult times lately. She hasn't been on here either as you know.
So we are down to seven for this time! Reminds me of Enid Blyton! Mind you I think one the seven there was a little dog , if I remember rightly! Lol!

Hello Sue,
Love this card today. The black background card with the pixie powders looks so opulent and it's definitely a must try for me.
Pam, hope things are going well at work. Do you think Myra is hinting that I'm the dog in the Secret Seven, no it can't be me as I'm not called Scamper - although I do walk funnily now and then ha ha!!! Diane obviously puts her daughter's 21st birthday before us, what sort of friend do you call her. I won't share any of my sweets with her in the future ha ha ha ha.
Elaine, what a magnificent effort you made and must be so pleased that your cakes were all eaten. Glad you enjoyed it.
Hecky Thump, otherwise knows as Donita. Have you bumped into my niece Carolyn yet? She was at Niagara Falls yesterday. You will recognise her, she's 30 and has black hair ha ha.
Carmen, have you seen her? She's been to Toronto and was talking about going to Whistler!

Good evening Sue,
What a glorious card, your background with the pixie powders is amazing, and what a clever technique. The Ocean background is one of my favourite dies, love what you have done with it for this card. It really does give it a different look.

Elaine well done on raising such a lot of money, shame the others didn't bake something though. I just knew you had Yorkshire blood in your veins!
Pam you are right, the excitement is mounting, we are all getting a bit giddy.
Donita love the idea of Hecky thump as a blog name, we have some brilliant Yorkshire sayings " aye up" being one of them. It has a multitude of meanings depending on the intonation and I've tried my level best to explain them to my German husband but to no avail. Bit like cricket really he doesn't get that either.
Myra I flatly refuse to take the part of the dog in our gang.
Rosemary I hope all your tests come back ok, sounds like it was a difficult day for you. Big hugs.
Maureen you're mad!
Busy day tomorrow, packing and cleaning then it's up up and away on Saturday.
Yvonne hope you are gradually recharging your batteries, Laine was being nice to you which worried me a tad.
Love and hugs for all
Saba xxxx
