King Of The Grill

Hello there my crafty friends!  I thought I would share one of my favourite cards from the barbecue themed die set called King of the Grill (in case you didn't see enough of it this past weekend!)  I started by cutting the Celebrations square Shadow Box in milk Ruby Red card.  I added mounting foam to the back and attached it to piece of black and cream dotty paper from my stash.  I decided to add a multi layered frame cut from the Stitched Square Pegboard Frame die set.  I used milk card for the wider base piece then added in a thinner black frame around the outside edge.  For the individual shadow boxes, I cut the barbecue in black gloss card, coloured the flames with distress oxides and added a skewer and  fork off of the edge in the largest section.  Above that, I cut the griddle and added a chicken drumstick and sat the mustard and ketchup to the side.  I cut the chef's hat in white and added it to the smallest section.  The sentiment was cut twice, once in black and once in milk card.  I offset the milk die cut behind the black one and added two utensils to the corner in the upper box.  The card was completed with milk, red and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue. A new week begins and I'm sure I can smell the delights of sizzling sausages or is that just wishful thinking. A truely fun card full of colour. This is a collection I'm sure the women who visit market will love this for the men in their lives, this is why I need to get it ready for when we see the sun again next year. If I had a £1.00 for every time I hear the words "you don't see these type of cards in the shops" then I'd be wealthy enough to have every single die you've launched - all 600 + and they are right. So thank you Sue.
Well I hear movement from the bedroom so I'll send love and hugs and wish you a happy Monday xxx

Good morning Sue. A fun card, and as Stephanie says not one you'd ever see in a shop. I love all the little details such as the ketchup bottles and utensils.
Belated anniversary wishes to Maureen and George, hope he soon feels better and you get to meet up with your group. Hugs to all. Sue xxx

The posts man couldn't get it in the letter box and as we were away he left me a card to say where it was. I can't wait to get my hands on it and have a play. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds

Dear Sue and Crafty Crafters,

Because of today's card, I had to order the square shadow box and 16-20 other things, such as more Pixie Powders (that was because of yesterday's card).

In Rhode Island, people BBQ in winter, even in the snow. (The grilling, not the eating). They do it in the garage, next to the open garage door.

Congratulations Maureen and George! And condolences for the urping. (That's how you know you're in real life and not a movie.)

I wonder if tea tree oil (melaluca) would ease Andrew's rash. Pure shea butter is also very soothing.

Best of weeks to everyone, especially those that could use a good week.

Love,
Donita

Hi Sue, I love this cheeky card and the die set. I adore all the tiny elements but sadly have no-one to whom I could send such a card so cannot justify the expense. I will just have to admire from afar.

Maureen - Belated Happy Anniversary to you and George. I am sorry that George was not well and hope that he feels better today. I don't think he would dare to be unwell enough to stop you going to the meet-up :-)

I have just got back from having my flu jab and am beginning to feel a little light-headed so I think a cup of tea and a re-watch of one of Sue's shows is in order.

Hope everyone has a good day.

This is such a charming card that any fellow with a grill should be delighted to receive. I don't even know how to light a charcoal grill but I would be tickled to get this card. BTW, Helen, what colors are grills in England? I have seen red ones here but Sue is correct in saying they are mostly glossy black.I was curious about that comment also....
Elaine, I do hope your husband gets the right cream or salve needed to clear up his rash. It sounds dreadful, poor guy.
A rainy Monday here so will do a few necessary evils known as house work and then finish a birthday card I am making with Sue's weaving dies...my first attempt and I do love it. My stamping buddy recipient will be impressed. No one in my stamp group "weaves" but I will bet the orders will go in after they see what can be done. Love them...Julia's demo sold me.
Everyone, have a good Monday,

A fun card Sue but unfortunately no one to send one to but I do like the look of the square shadow box card. That would be useful. I do hope Maureen gets to the meet up this time. Echoing all Pam's comments.

Elaine, I'm so sorry Andrew is suffering, hope they can help him at the skin clinic.

This is the perfect card for all the men in my life. I live in Wisconsin in the USA. We grill all year round. Snow, sleet, rain, hot summers, it doesn't matter here. You can never go wrong with good meat, seafood and vegetables on a grill. In fact, tonight we are making fish and sweet corn on the cob, on the grill. I'm already drooling just thinking about the yummy flavors.
