Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello there my crafty friends!  We are now getting into the Christmas card making season I think.  You need to have started them by now I think to have an enjoyable relatively stress free Christmas, but I will be like a broken record every week reminding you! LOL  If you need an elegant card that doesn't take too much time, today's giveaway id the card for you!  I started by cutting a piece of coconut white card then cutting a diagonal cut across it.  The top half I embossed with the Wild Poinsettia embossing folder for texture.  I added some mounting foam to the back and then adhered it to another piece of card stock.  Next I cut the Garland Edger in gold mirror card, extending the length so that it reached across the card on the diagonal.  I glued it into place just under the embossed area.  I added mounting foam to the other side of the card from the diagonal cut and adhered it below the garland edger.  I made three poinsettias cut from red card covered in Red Glitter Kiss.  I assembled them and added them to the lower portion of the card with white Holly Swirls as accents.  White and gold mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6" x  8 1/4" in size.  Leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this one.  All for now, Sue x

Lovely Wednesday Giveaway card, who would not want to be the proud winner of this one. I love it. I haven't yet started my cards this may kick start me.
Carmen, glad you survived the inventory, bit worrying about your headache still, maybe seek medical advice time. Take care of yourself.
Lynda, hope you are feeling better after your poorly spell.
Alison, don't worry about the weigh in, it is a given that you will put some weight on during holidays otherwise folks will think you didn't enjoy it.
June, glad I make you smile.
Elaine, you are an absolute whirlwind, I don't know how you do it. Good luck with the coffee morning, have a slice of cake for me please. Hope the grandchildren enjoyed their lasagna. Jack and Ryan had a roast dinner, their favourites after school.
My meeting with Union rep went well. He is going to request that they discount this illness completely as per the guidance and also the previous illness when I may have inhaled dust at work due to the fact that they may have caused it, proof or not, and he will take it to appeal if necessary. Feel better after talking to him.
Hugs to all (a group one with Rosemary in the middle would be nice). Thinking of poorly and missing friends.
Special thoughts and prayers for the victims and survivors and their families of the dreadful shootings in the USA. We live in a troubled world at the moment.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a beautiful give away card today, yes I think we are all in Christmas mode at the moment, I have made quite a few but they are ones that must be hand delivered, need to get my head around the posting ones and not do too many layers.

Pam I reiterate all you have said above, you capture it all in a nut shell. Pleased that the meeting went well for you, let's hope they can put a line underneath it all and you can then get some peace and not have to keep worrying.

Off to craft club this morning, hope to do some inking, stamping and colouring today.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Good morning Sue,

What a beautiful card. Just my taste that one! How lucky would I be to win this?! Fingers crossed.

I've been gathering my materials for my Christmas cards for some time now but have still yet to get into production. Half term holidays will be the time I think - or so I keep telling myself. I will get there, eventually.

Hi Sue, you are so right about needing a constant reminder to get a shimmy on with our festive cards, I learnt my lesson the hard way last year, very hard so once bitten twice shy lol one thing that I learnt which was so very valuable was if possible place a die on a sheet of card that gives you an apature or negative which can be used as a base for your next card and so on, I got on a roll with your weekly inspiration plus the other trick I just mentioned. This sample though is one on its own Sue it's gorgeous. I love how the deep red poinsettias draw you in, the gold border and that hint of the Holly Swirl that cuddles and curls beneath your floral element is just beautiful. I love the festive inspiration you give and I'm really really looking forward to seeing each sample from your new festive dies get its day on the blog.
Keep warm be happy, and I'm sending my love and hugs as always xxx a big extra big thank you for giving me the tools and knowledge to be able to make 2 very simple CAS sympathy cards which as you know was extremely sensitive and was a big concern to me. Thank you xx

Morning Sue. WOW This is a gorgeous card giveaway. This is the card that made me buy the Edger it's a beautiful die. I learned my lesson 2 years ago when I got so far behind that I was having to stopping up half the night to try and catch up. Now what I do is after the Christmas rush is over I still make Christmas cards until the end of January this way I know I have a head start for the Christmas. You might think I am a bit daft but all the stuff is already out so why not lol. Good Luck everyone for the draw on Saturday.

Dear Sue and Crafty Crew,

In my mind I am raising the Garland Edger so it's higher on the card. The embossing folder is lovely, but Merry and Bright looks so lonely up there. The poinsettias almost look like velvet, and the pearl at their center is perfection.

I have a question about the robin card. How do you not cut out the robin when you're cutting the frame? Can't figure that out.

Carmen, please take a day off and rest. If I was your head, I'd throb until you did something sensible and necessary, like rest. Even if you have to go unpaid, your health is more important.

Pam, so glad your have the backing you need.

Maureen, you've made me laugh two days in a row with your typo of calling yourself Myra's fiend. A little early for Halloween, don't you think?

Tonight while waiting for Sue's new card to appear, I cut some Cheeky Monkeys and vines, etc. And here's a refrain I'd like to use again: It was all I could do to keep from losing my bananas!

Sue, I found myself wanting a few sizes of split-leaf philodendron to put in the jungle where the monkey is swinging. Maybe we need a houseplant set that could double as rainforest foliage?

My wish for you all is that you have the best Wednesday you could possibly have. I'll do the same. It might take some effort. As (I forget who) said during the launch: "Choices will have to be made!"

Love and huggles,

Donita

Today's is gorgeous! I must say I love the red glitter kiss! I have used it and it's really effective and so sparkly in real life! I have two sheets waiting to be cut out! Pam - glad you feel happier having spoken to your Union Rep. I'm sorry you have had all this stress though!
Carmen - good you are feeling a bit better ! Take care!
Ann - I do hope you hear about your Flight soon , just to put your mind at rest! We had booked Flights only with them for next year but fortunately our Credit .card Company will have to refund that. That's why they charge extra I guess!
Tracy - interesting about your Poinsettias! I never buy a red one as it doesn't match any room in my home! Usually have a shade of pink or a variegated one! Can never manage to keep them though! My Mum could!
Laine - I suspect you are a wee bit under the weather! Sorry if you are! Sending a hug!
PP - I think you have been missing for a few days! Did you overdo things recently! Get well and come back soon!
Maureen has been calling me her " fiend" for a while now - sort of like the devil on my shoulder!! I'm very fond of her really!

Good morning, Sue, from Alberta Canada.  I love this card.  I'm very partial to your channel cards.  I was wondering if you have made a video showing how to make and assemble this one?  I really appreciate your videos as I learn so much better when there is a visual tutorial as opposed to a written one.  I was getting a little confused with the insertion of the gold strip.

This is another stunner as usual and it would be an awesome card to win.  Cheers!

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Wow, is it Wednesday already? Boy, isn't time flying by, you are so right to urge us to start thinking more about Christmas and creating all those gorgeous cards from your fabulous dies. Today's card is a beauty, i love the poinsettia EF, the detailing is stunning and the rich red poinsettias are a real statement, totally fabulous! Good luck ladies in the draw, hoping it goes to one of Sues many devoted regulars.
Had an early start today.....okay, i got up at 8am which in my book is still technically night time:-).....so feeling a little pooped tonight, I'm just not as young as i used to be so goodness knows how oldies like Yvonne, Myra and dear Maureen cope!:-) Went for my regular wash and blow dry at my hairdressers...my Mum stole my appointment though, i was meant to get it coloured and cut but Leslie thought my Mum was in greater need given that the grey hairs were forming a rebellion on her head. Yes, i am a kind and considerate daughter willing to sacrifice my own happiness for the sake of others:-)....at least now i wont be embarrassed to be seen with her:-)
Saba and Myra, thanks for your special hugs they really helped, i was feeling rotten yesterday but made good on my promise to post a comment regardless of how short it would be...besides it gave you all a rest from my verbal diarrhoea! Are you back home in Germany now Saba? When do you fly over for your girlie weekend? Myra, i believe that you care for Maureen deeply even if it isnt always immediately apparent:-)
Carmen, glad you're feeling a bit better, it must have been a real struggle for you doing the inventory whilst you felt so lousy:-( Do something about that headache if it persists though. Sending huge hugs honeyxxx
Pam, so glad you are finally getting some professional support that will really make your bosses sit up and notice, maybe you can relax now and concentrate on getting betterxxx
Elaine, hope you enjoyed your coffee morning, I wouldn't have minded a slice or three of cake either:-) Men have never interfered with my appetite, tell your granddaughter they're not worth the aggro, have a nice piece of cheesecake instead and watch an episode of Bake Off....now I AM showing my age!
Yvonne, big hugs to you sweetie, I'm going to be super nice for a change because you're under the weather...yes, stranger things have happened.....hope you feel better soon and have a chance to look in on the blog, dare i say it but you're missed....a little!:-)xxx
Rosemary, good luck with your tests and hope you feel better soon, sending hugsxxx

Gorgeous card. Just love poinsettias and the white with the red poinsettias is so very striking and elegant. The gold is something I never do, put gold with white I usually use silver with white, but this definitely works.

Hi Sue,
Really gorgeous card today. It’s right up my street. I love poinsettia, just so Christmassy.
Pam, so pleased that your meeting with union rep went so well - at least you know someone is fighting your corner. Weigh in went well - I was exactly the same weight, so I was pleased about that!
Love and hugs to all, Alison xxxx

Hello Sue,
I'm starting to panic, haven't made a single C card yet but you are giving me the inspiration. Today's card is gorgeous, love how you have divided it up into two equally beautiful parts, the embossed look on the top and the simply gorgeous poinsettias at the bottom with their holly swirls. It's stunning Sue, thankyou.

Pam glad the union rep has made you feel better about this silly situation. You've been ill, why can't the management accept it instead of causing you all this stress. Hope it all gets resolved soon.
Laine, glad to see you back on form although you are obviously sickening for something being nice to Yvonne! Yes I'm back in good old Germany but only for a few days. Flying to the UK at the weekend to meet up with most of the gang and I can't wait. I seem to spend half my life packing and unpacking at the moment.
Barbara Happy Birthday, bit late but I hope you have had a lovely day.
Carmen glad you are feeling a bit better.
Elaine- Hecky Thump! Are you a Yorkshire lass like me? Hope your Grandaughter soon gets over her boyfriend blues. I'll have a slice of the lemon one please.
Donita that was no typo! She loves Myra really, we all do. Maureen is considering having an axe in her head for her Halloween costume, I'm sure Her hubby George will help!
Love and hugs for all

Good morning all.
Yet another beautiful card Sue. I know I've asked you before, but when do you rest?
I am so fed up of sorting things out prior to my move. On the days that my Daughter comes to help she says things like "Chuck it" Charity bag" "Crafty ladies" "You don't need it Mum" Then she loads the bags into her car so that I can't have a second look.Having said that, I will miss her when she goes back to Fuertaventura next week Maybe I'll start my Christmas cards eh?

Hi Sue, I had a customer today ask me about the embossing folder that you used on this card. I cannot find it anywhere. Is it available please or is it coming soon?
