Baked With Love

Good Sunday morning all!  You can probably tell that I have been looking through some of my older folders! LOL  I found this lovely apron card that never had it's day on the blog so I thought I would share it.  I do believe that it is the last of the apron/kitchen cards that I made.  I started with a piece of milk card and covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I cut all of the kitchen pieces from the Baked with Love die set out of milk card and randomly added them all over the card.  You can see the canister, mixing bowl, measuring spoons, utensils, muffin tin etc. behind the apron, then I sprinkled the remaining exposed adhesive with Diamond Snow.  I cut the apron out of dotty decorative paper from my stash and added pockets cut out of red with mounting foam.  I cut the rolling pin and wooden spoon out of milk card and attached them coming out of the pocket, then added the oven mitt hanging off the edge of the apron pocket.  I cut the sentiment twice out of ruby red card and glued them together then attached them to the centre of the apron.  Milk and red mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8" in size.

The winners of this week's Comment Game are:

Lydia Jordan!!!
Jess Watson!!!
York's Butterfly!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue and all, stunning card, love it, I was thinking of making cupcakes today too.
Enjoyed Lisa's demos on Hichanda, the fairy globe is lovely, and the clouds and hit air balloon too. As ever enjoyed another tutorial on the pixie powders.
Congratulations to comment game winners.
Thank you to everyone fir their encouragement and checking Wednesday posts. I too checked so I have emailed Sue, it might be me, hope so. Tracey you remembered my surname correctly, thank you.
Maureen, you are a hoot, you had me laughing out loud. Sad about the Walnnut chocolate but I like Hazlenut too. Maybe you should write to Mr Cadbury, other chocolate is available. Hooe you had a great time at the Proms. That man is a real hero, shame his wife couldn't see that for the £ signs, and after he did it for her.
What a palaver Helen had to go through but at least Andrew has his appointment, hope they can do something quickly for him.
My manager is back from leave tomorrow, hey ho, let's see what she has to say about Wednesday .....
Have a great Sunday folks, hugs to all especially our poorly and missing friends.

Good morning Sue,

What a fabulous card. I too was open mouthed when I saw the first glimpse of the card, thinking, "wow, a coordinating embossing folder!"

Soooo clever. I love that idea. But dare I confess that I have bought theses die sets and still not had time to play with them. Although I must admit that it's because I have bought so many that I am still working my way through them!

My latest 'play' has been with the sets of hexagons and the weaving die. I think I'm turning into Julia Watts with my love for the weaving effect.

Thank you for sharing. Crafty hugs,

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, what a fantastic card this is, I have that set but it has not been out of the folder for a little while so you have encouraged me to have another go at it, I love all these sorts of dies with all the little things that go with them.

Pam I reiterate all you have said, I hope it is you who was the Wednesday winner. Don't worry about tomorrow your manager will probably have made contingency plans to cover your work, she knew this was coming from your last hospital admissions. Your health comes first.

Congratulations to all the winners.

Had a lovely time at the workshop yesterday learnt lots more about different stamping techniques, and was lucky enough to win the top prize which is a really lovely 'Sweet Petunia' bag for putting my 'Misti' and all my stamps and inks in when I have to go to my craft group, I was so pleased about that.

Off to a craft open day today so will be seeing John Lockwood, looking forward to that.

Unfortunately because I have been out I missed the Hochanda shows but I will watch them on rewind over the next few days.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Ohhh I am so exited. It's my birthday tomorrow. But I got my pressie from my hubby on Thursday. I am now the proud owner of a Gemini Machine. I can't have it till tomorrow though and I can't wait to use it. I have wanted one for so long especially as my grand calibur was on the blink. Two broken handles and not embossing in places. I have had it a long time though and it served me well. Roll on morning is all I can say. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds

Hi Sue,

Fabulous card, I too thought the background was a new embossing folder, until I looked at the close-ups...brilliant idea using the kitchen utensils to add some subtle detail behind the apron...I actually baked a cake yesterday so I'm feeling like a kitchen goddess!

Donita - we call that a tart tin over here, the moulds are shallower than in a muffin tin - although the word "tart" has another meaning too which I won't go into on a family blog!

Ann - what a wonderful surprise - does it make up for your holiday nightmare?...

Hi Sue, love this card and so pleased you found it in your folders. I love the way you have created the background and the colours of the spotty apron remind me of a high-end company's style (CK) which is totally appropriate for you. All of the utensils are brilliant but I know I am not alone in having a favourite in the oven mitt.

Pam - I am sure Sue has good news for you. Maybe your manager's holiday has sweetened her up but you give it to her straight if she gives you any bother.
Maureen - I hope you enjoyed your proms, it sounds fabulous and Mr 'Daft' certainly isn't! What a man.

Hello Sue,

Pam, your Manager can't say much about Wednesday. She's known this was on the cards and your Union Rep will keep her (and you) right! Try not to worry.
Pat L, sorry to read that Sarah's appointment has been put back and hope everything is o.k.
Barbara Mac, I meant to say yesterday that your comment the day before was spot on.
Congratulations to the comment winners, Lydia Jordon, Yorks Butterfly and Jess it's lovely to see your names there.
Laine and PP still no sign of you, I hope you are well.
Thank you ladies who commented on the Proms. It was a wonderful night which raised over £30,000 for a very worthy cause, and the beauty is that every £ raised goes towards helping local people. Brian - the man himself - has Parkinsons and is going to attempt to walk around Great Britain to try to roll this idea out so that any money raised by people will help the people in their own communities who need this aid (he hopes to increase the number of ambulances and volunteers). It's been calculated that it will take him about two and a half years to do the walk!! He is an incredible man. The vocalists - male and female - were wonderful, as were the Chorus and the orchestra.
love to all

Good Day Everyone,
Of course I got fooled with the fantastic pieced background acting like an embossing folder. Just brilliant. A very cheerful card which would go well with a home baked goodie....I noted all the baking going on in some of the ladie's homes. Yum. Shopping this afternoon will include a stop at the bakery in Publix.
Ann, enjoy your Gemini. I have loved mine. Remember to turn the plates often as they do warp quickly from the pressure but it cuts so many dies, one pass, that were persnickety (never Sue's) plus now I can use some of the larger dies and embossing folders.
Nanny Joo Joo, you and I are on the same page. I made a pile of weaved backgrounds yesterday. I am addicted to these new (for me) dies. I also ordered the Hexagons and am eagerly awaiting their arrival. I think they will be perfect frames for all my woven backgrounds.
Pam,hope you have won..I am thinking the timing is perfect.
Congrats to all our new lucky winners.

What a delightful card! Our 5 year old granddaughter and I were supposed to bake chocolate chip cookies on Thursday after school but she fell off the monkey bars and broke her arm. We rushed her to the hospital and she had to have surgery to put pins in to hold the two broken bones together. She has been such a brave little trooper through all of this. She didn’t even cry when they put the IV in. She squeezed my fingers really tightly and had to watch them put it in. She even thanked the nurse for helping her.
As they wheeled her into the operating room all the nurses kept saying how adorable she is and she told them that she takes after me! (That brought a few chuckles into the moment.)
We are hoping to make our cookies one handed this week. I told her that I will keep one hand in my pocket the whole time so we both have only one hand. She is looking forward to that! 🙂
Congratulations to this week’s Comment game winners. Enjoy your goodies!
My wish for all of you is that only good things happen this week and that you share a smile with someone who looks down or grumpy! It may be the only bright spot in their day! (((Hugs)))

I’m glad that you had a great night at the Proms and that so much money was raised. He seems such a lovely kind man. I wish him well in his future endeavours, he’s a star. x
