2017 Autumn Die Release Blog Launch --Industrial Chic Swirl

Hello there bloggers!  Welcome to the final die release of 2017.  There are 29 dies on offer this release and I will be showcasing each of them over the next nine days with either three or four posts per day (a bit different than previous launches).   I will be showing a single new die set per post and as always,  holding a drawing for one lucky person per post to win that die set!  Leave a comment on the post and the winners will be drawn and announced on Nov. 17th.  Again, I ask that you please sign your comments in a manner that there will be no confusion as to whose name it is when announced (ie.,  crazy crafter from Colchester, or cat lovin' crafter, or just some other funny alias you devise yourself!)  I only have one set of each die to give away so I don't want any one disappointed with two people trying to claim it!  Please feel free to leave a comment on each and every blog post, but only one per post please.
I am starting with one of my favourite new collections called Industrial Chic.  I have let my inner grunge go a bit and I think I have come up with a lovely collection of very easy to use dies, great for those pesky male cards or anyone that enjoys the sort of steampunk flair.  Starting the launch today, I am showcasing the I.C. (Industrial Chic) Swirl.  It works great in any corner and can easily be turned into a pretty sort of grunge look as well.  If this one floats your boat, please leave me a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this one.  The next post will be online at noon today for your inspection.  All for now, Sue x

Wow, what a way to start your new launch, love the card and die. The background is superb and suits the die.
So looking forward to your takes on the new dies especially the Steampunk which is way out of your usual style, but I'm sure you have a few surprises waiting for us.
Lovely shows from Phil last night, he is such a funny hapoy man.
Elaine, good news that Andrew and Mary are doing well and that you slept better. Maybe your body is telling you to slow down a bit.
The decorating seems to be going well ladies, you are all doing so much better than me. Maureen I know you don't want to get paint on your clothes but wouldn't coveralls be more convenient and less distracting for George, poor lamb.
Marie, hooe it's moving day fir you,. If so, good luck, hope you get settled soon.
Helen Bell hope you are feeling better, gotta get you fit for this launch.
At hospital this afternoon to see Anaethetist pre op, fingers crossed I get through this time.
Enjoy the marathon folks, help yourself to my basket if hugs. Thinking of poorly and missing friends.

Morning Sue.
So, you spoil us yet again with another brand new collection and an in site to what you enjoying working with.
I'd like to start by saying that steam punk, cogs and industrial types subjects have never been my styles but greatly admired the talents of those that bring these subjects to life, some have it some don't and I don't. So although I'll be admiring each post you show can I ask not to be included into the draw for this collection please, I'm not being rude or picky or ungrateful but I'd rather let someone have the chance of receiving these generous gifts that will put them to wonderful use rather than site in my die box and not see the light of day. Hope I cause no ill feeling or offence by being honest.
It's one of those things like your first sample that I get pleasure looking at, and greatly admire how they are put together.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of your new collections and samples that go with each die.
Enjoy your day as much as we will Sue xxx

I've also had a sneaky peek at the others in this section and have to say, you have changed my opinion! Great for masculine cards but also suitable for more feminine ones too. Looking forward to the next post.

Dear Sue and Industrial Chics,

Perhaps still a little swirly for a male card, but I love this!!! It's so different from the classic Sue Wilson look, but it still looks distinctive and still has your DNA. I'm surprised that the word isn't plain but has an industrial look, too, and I never imagined the flower looking so exotic.
I'm so excited about this! Thank you for bringing this new look into being.
I had to look up steampunk. I pictured a kid with a lot of piercings sitting on a steamer trunk on the dock. Didn't realize it comes from setting fiction in the age of steam power, but with a futuristic sci-fi twist. I think of that movie Wild Wild West, set in the time just after the railroad connected the U.S. coasts, but the bad guy had all those diabolical mechanical contraptions.
My power is still off and there's no telling when it might come back on. At work, I filled up a 1.5 liter bottle, a quart jug and my water-filtering pitcher, and supplied myself with drinking water. My power has been off for more than 24 hours, but I grabbed a popsicle from the freezer, and it was still solid. Although just barely. Do you guys call them ice lollies? That name makes more sense. Popsicle must have been a brand name. Oh! You took the lolly, we took the pop. You took the ice, we took the sicle. Now they both make sense.
Best wishes for Pam and Marie today, and, as Pam said yesterday, anyone who's decorating.
Elaine, glad everyone, including yourself, had a wellness upswing.
Here's hoping PP and Helen Bell both feel better Tuesday.
So glad, Theresa, that your husband is tuned in to what makes you happy, and Pat L that your Platinum is on its way.
And thank you, Rose in Chester, for teaching us the proper attitude for buying dies, that we are worth it.
I'm thinking that when Pam puts out a basket of hugs, we don't have to limit ourselves to just onE. The worse you feel, seems like, the more hugs you need.

What a most auspicious return to the blog for me, and a massive surprise to see another blog launch.....got a text from Yvonne informing me that it was beginning this morning and I just had to see what delights Sue had in store for us.
I adore steampunk style cards but don’t have the knowledge or expertise to create them for myself....i tried something similar years ago when i went to a local craft class but since they’ve stopped i tend not to go out of my comfort zone. I would really appreciate it if you did more cards like this fabulous beauty and perhaps some video tutorials to help me grasp the techniques used to create such a wonderful effect....i really appreciate you taking us all out of our comfort zones with this new die concept, its fabulous and i am so excited to see what other delights you can create using it.
Just in case you hadn’t twigged, i am in love with this die and card and look forward to more of the same later in the launch. Thanks for prodding my creative juices Sue, its much appreciated.
Love and hugs to all, especially my besties, i have missed you soxxx

Love and crafty hugs

Hello Sue,
I have been eagerly awaiting your new launch to see just what you do with this somewhat different collection and this first sample has not disappointed. Steam punk has never really been my thing and I'm hoping your samples over the next few days will convert me and give me the inspiration to come out of my comfort zone and try something different. This IC swirl is such an interesting design and to me would work well for all genders and ages. You really have let your inner grunge go with this one and I'm intrigued by your background and how you created it.
Sorry I've been missing this week, it's been so full on every day with the family being here, we've been to the zoo, Lego Land, a play barn, swimming baths and on forest trails to name but a few. They are now safely home and it will be Christmas before I get to see them again.
Donita loved your take on popcicles, hope you get your power on soon.
Lorraine lovely to see you, you've been missed.
Pam hope all went well today and youmget a date for your op very soon.
Love and hugs for all
Saba xxxx

Pam hope all goes well for your pre op assessment

Donita hope the power comes back before everything in your freezer defrosts
Welcome back Laine and Saba

Sending love and hugs to everyone

Hello Sue,

I have never been into steampunk and grunge, they just really are not my style. However this card with the Industrial Chic Swirl is showing steampunk and grunge done the Sue Wilson way, with just the right amount of elegance and style. A great start to the release.

Just a bit different. A useful die to have.

I wasn't sure...we have had Steampunk in stamping here for a long while. My husband likes these so there we go...masculine cards. While I like your traditional cards best, variety is the spice of life and my cards certainly are all over the place style wise. I like to think something for everyone. Is that a new flower I spot?
Donita, come out of the dark and Pam hope your appointment went well.
I am happy. My computer is up once more.Tried to post several times and it would drop or disappear somewhere. Who thought new carpet would be such a hassle? I have barely noticed it with the house topsy turvy.

My brain usually switches off when I hear "Steampunk". Industrial Chic Sue Wilson style is something else. This card is super and like a number of others I can hardly wait to see a video of you making it. I can see this die being useful all round and the virtual scissors are already snipping away. Love that background.

Take care everyone.

LOVE your card and ADORE your die Sue!
I have to confess that I had not entered the world of steampunk creations until last year and I'm so glad I did ... it started a hearty addiction. I often mix my cogs and gears with flourishes and flowers, so this die has combined them perfectly for me :)
