Best Wishes

Good Sunday morning all!  I have a bright cheerful card to welcome you to the blog this morning.  I started by stamping the Pinwheel flower Stamp To Die For all around the edge of a piece of coconut white card.  I heat embossed them with true white embossing powder.  Next I inked the edges of the card with Worn Lipstick and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide. The stamped images acted as a resist so the ink was easily wiped away from the tops of the images.  I cut a smaller piece of coconut white card and embossed it with the Jacobean Floral embossing folder for texture.  I added it to the centre of the card with foam, then cut a wide frame using the Double Stitched Hexagons.  I cut out an assortment of sizes of the Pinwheel Floral die in coconut white card (enough to make three flowers)  I inked them with the same distress oxides then stamped over them with Black Archival ink using the same stamps as the edge of the background.  I created three flowers and seated them on the frame with the Windswept Grass as accents.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with the Stitched Flags and added it across the frame.  White on white mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.

The winners of this week's Comment Game are:

Margaret Rogers!!!
Barbara Gosden!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, another beautiful card today, really autumnal with all the flowers.

Pam I reiterate all you have said, and yes the Groovi was wonderful, if you ever get a chance to try it out at a make and take or something like that you will so enjoy it, it really is so easy to do and the parchment really comes to life. I learnt about the blending of colours onto the parchment yesterday, it was amazing, and so useful especially for vellum too.

Congratulations to all the winners and also yesterdays one, I am sorry I forgot to mention it.

Off to another all day workshop today, this is stamping, inking, blending etc. got my bag all packed and ready to go.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Dear Sue and Wilsonettes,
Instead of resistance is futile, this one demonstrates resistance is beautiful. Love the colors.
Congrats to Margaret Rogers, Barbara Gosden and Littlelamb!!!
Our gathering was fun, we made lots of cards, and although I brought the "library" of Sue's dies, we made mostly cards that each of them had designed with their dies. Pat showed us how to make an embossed frame and leave any shape unembossed in the middle. The concept is that you cut the shape as an aperture in cardboard, then do it again in the same place. Glue them together to make a double thick cardboard frame with your shape as the aperture. Then put your paper in the embossing folder, put the cardboard on top of the closed folder and run it through. I guess the cardboard takes the place of one plate in your sandwich. The thickness of the cardboard applies pressure for embossing, but the aperture gets no pressure and thus doesn't emboss, leaving you a smooth place in the middle for your diecut or sentiment. Pretty cool, huh? I had to see her do it before I understood it. I would have tried putting something unembossable in the middle to block the embossing. But I would have gotten it backwards. Our hostess cooked us a chicken dinner with a potato casserole that had cream cheese in it and a crunchy corn flake topping. Plus she had green bean almandine, hot rolls and cake. Best meal I've had in ages!
Enjoy your Sunday.

Hello Sue,
Sorry I missed posting on your great card yesterday and have to say that the first time I saw faux leather was on your video. I have done it many times since as it's so useful for men's cards, especially if Native Americans or cars are involved! Today's card is so pretty and the colours are beautiful.
Congratulations to Lesley on winning the Wednesday giveaway and also to Margaret R, Barbara Gosden and our Littlelamb for winning the comment giveaway.
Pam, don't take any chances with your legs if you've had problems in the past.
Carmen - follow the yellow brick road Dorothy - my shoe size and my age more or less correlate, I just look a lot older!! (Any of the gang will confirm that ha ha)
Marie, oh what a disaster, I hope you can arrange something. My sister in law stayed with her daughter but her furniture had to go into storage for a couple of weeks.
June, you are so lucky to be able to go to so many crafting classes.
Donita, that sounds like a handy way to get an un-embossed centre, I'll have to try it. The meal you had sounds yummy!
Elaine, sorry to read that you had such a lousy night, hope tonight is better.
Pat L, so sorry that I'm so late in commenting on your beautiful flower arrangement. I'm not surprised it was the Judges Choice. Oh I see you are decorating, we are about to start - officially tomorrow but I've been preparing for it this afternoon!
PP lovely to see you back.
I'm going to be somewhat busy this week so I'll probably be short and sweet for a while. Don't all cheer at once.

Hi Sue and everyone

Beautiful card. I love white embossing and florals, so a hit for me. Still not had chance to catch up properly, apologies, but thinking of you all.

Pam, it doesn’t look like we’ll be finished for Christmas. We had tooo many irons in the fire. Will continue with the painting, but probably not get new bedrooom wardrobes til next year now. Good news from Yorkshire Water though. A very polite and friendly young man ( no, not like the Harry Enfield sketches) showed up on time, assessed and said we’d get a new plastic stop tap hopefully sometime next week. They have to dig up the pavement to do this, but he said he’d mark it so that I didn’t have to be in when they came to do this. I was impressed with his spray painting of the manhole cover, it was perfect. Nothing on the path at all. Wonder if he was a crafter? Or maybe he used a stencil? Best part is that we do not have to pay anything as it is not actually on out property and they should maintain it. It must be 20years since we’ve accessed it!
Congratulations to all the lucky winners.

Love Helen xxx

PP - I'm so glad you are feeling better and had a good weekend. Thank you for the update on Laine. Glad to hear she is OK.
