Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, yes I agree with you and Pam it does look like a Christmas jumper, do you know that is something that both my hubby and I do not have!! a Christmas jumper, talk about humbug, well not really because we both love to see the Children at Christmas time, we normally get a skype call with our granddaughter opening her presents, children get so excited don't they, we just sit back and enjoy the day and reflect on the past year.

Anyway I digress, congratulations to Viki, I know just how you will feel when the postie comes to your do with your prize.

Pam I reiterate all you have said above, please take care regarding the blood pressure. I bet the twins are having a great time, yes you will miss them loads but what a great time it will be when they come home full of their adventures.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel regarding my craft room, well at least I can see the colour of my floor now ha ha. got some more labelling up to do and then tackle my embellishments, they were in lots of different places so now got to sort them out, I think by end of tomorrow evening I would have more or less finished (I hope).

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Morning Sue. I feel so dumb and totally thick. When the 'title' of the sample came into view my first thought was - I know I've seen every single die launched since day one of your new venture and have now come to terms with never being able to afford to catch up and own every die, but when on earth did I miss a C jumper die ?!!! Oh dear me there really is no hope. Wollop the penny dropped when the sample appeard lol and how beautiful it is Sue. Your ideas and designs are second to none, you really do deserve the best designer award plus the awards we've voted for. I've seen the most stunning festive samples on this gorgeous blog, but this is just stunning and I'm certainly looking forward to watching the tutorial to this beautiful festive work of art. I can honestly say that this will be the highlight of my day of that doesn't sound daft ! It's too late now to make fluffy cloud and cute animal cards unless my dies arrive today, but thanks to your gorgeous loveable New Arrival collection I was able to make a decent amount of CAS cards to stock up my market baskets for tomorrow, I really don't know where I'd be if it wasn't for your die collections, Phills baby collection stamps and CE goodies.
I'm going to rabble on today and share a fear. Before getting more knowledge from the team and learning about the CE glue, and adding glue to foam not only for 'wiggle time' but to stop the card falling apart I used glue I'd seen in a craft show from a big company who raved how brilliant it was. Move on a year when having an infusion on the ward, I noticed a card I'd sent pinned on the Thank You card board but it has become unstuck and I was suddenly mortified thinking of the previous cards made with this same glue and the 3d gell glue and sold at market !! In fact it's longer much longer than a year ago as I'd not found CE at that time. So as I was making my cards and dotting glue on my foam, that fear came back into mind and it worries me so much how many people have had to either re-stick a card they received years ago or actually thrown it away - although the 2nd option would be better as I can't believe how I had the gaul to sell them in those days as being totally honest, oh boy they were awful then compared to now and even today I can say nowhere near the standard of what I see on Facebook, now that's talent by the bucket load lol. Enough you'll be glad to read.
well done to Viki on winning a beautiful card, enjoy.
Saturday love and hugs on their way xxx

Dear Sue and Craftinettes,

After seeing the title of this sample, I was like Stephanie Cotterill, only I figured you had turned the apron upside down to make a sweater, and used an embossing folder to make it look knitted. As they say apparently around the world, Doh!

I'm amazed that you knew to use blue over red to get gray, and to use broken sticks or whatever to tone down the blue over white. People who can play music by ear are the same to me as visual artists. Do you just know, do you pick things up from a lifetime of noticing what happens after you try something, or do you learn it in school?

The snowflake frames are starting to grow on me. I hope you stop soon, or I might succumb.

Carmen, you rock and roll, having a stash of cards already made!

Helen Bell, you said it! Buying, organizing, blog commenting, watching videos and looking at the creations of others barely leaves time for actually making cards.

Thanks to everyone who shared their progress on making Christmas cards. I'm full of admiration.

Fikreta, if you are new, welcome to our little family. If you're not new, nice to see you comment.

love and huggles,

Hi Sue
Yes it is a sweater background on your card and so adorable, loving it and it would look good in any colour .
Well done to Viki enjoy your card .

Pam i bet the children have a great time , i have never had the chance to visit New York sadly.
Johns meds are not suiting him , they upped from 5mg to 10mg this month he has felt dreadful so i phoned yesterday ,he is to come off them and go back onto the 5mg until he sees his consultant in December .
Andrew had a phone call yesterday from the Dermatology Dept they now know what his skin condition is and can treat it accordingly with antibiotics, nothing to do with his treatment and nothing to worry about they say so we are hoping Andrew will go ahead with Chemo next week .
I think Mary will feel better today when her girls visit , it can be very lonely on your own in the week especially when you are feeling poorly but they have to go to work . Im just off to do Mary some shopping so will have to shoot .
Echoing Pam again today

Hi Sue, I can just imagine snuggling down inside this cosy jumper in front of a roaring fire with snow falling outside. Do you think I watch too many Christmas films? I love the Scandi style of this card and your video shows clearly how to create it, I think it is lovely.

Pam - so sorry your new meds are giving you a headache, if it goes on for more than a few days ask the doctor to change them as they could be too strong to start with. I hope the twins have a lovely time in New York.
Elaine - glad they know what Andrew's problem is and that it is nothing to worry about.

Hi Sue and everyone

Beautiful card. I really like the effect of the blue chalk colourcloud on the ruby card. I have the die set, but not the mask. Loved the video.

Donita, I’m glad you understand what I mean about finding the time to make cards.

I’d like to do some today, but REALLY have to do some more painting. ( decorating, I mean not artistic painting). Glossed three windowsills yesterday, but a tiny fly managed to stick itself to one of them during the night! I have 6 doors ( both sides), architraves, skirting boards and the staircase and downstairs toilet to undercoat and gloss, oh yes and the loft hatch. Started last year, but had a poorly shoulder and op, then some other health issues so it just got left. Oh well, slowly but surely. Doesn’t help I’m such a perfectionist. I’ll just plod on until it’s done.
Right, I’m off to tackle the fly!

Love Helen xxx

Hello Sue,
I’ve watched the video! It’s marvellous I looked at that blue going on to red and thought Hmmmm! However I should have known better - it’s a masterpiece! It’s very clever and so effective! I don’t think I make enough use of masks! I have a confession to make - since watching the video I’ve ordered the Snowflake Dies! I already have some of your snowflakes but this is so eye catching and I think bits could be used all year round!
Stephanie I totally agree about CE Glue. It’s the best and I even use it with my After School Club children. It grabs so quickly so in their case things aren’t sliding around. They have to learn you only need a little bit though! I’ve heard tales about the glue you mentioned before . One friend told me Cards she had made were smelling badly and it was the glue!
Sue - having praised CE Glue for me it would be even better if the black cap and top could be improved on! They do snap off!
That naughty step is some length to fit everyone on it! Maybe you need to sit on one of The Spanish Steps lol.
Helen - that’s a lot of painting! When you mentioned tackling the fly - into my head “ I know an old lady who swallowed a fly, “ you may be 21 for all I know but it made me chuckle!
Crewe Trish - moving house is stressful at any age! My heart goes out to you! Take care!
Elaine - good news - well some good news!
Pam - I’m sure the twins will have a great time! I love New York! Sorry about the headaches! Take care!
Saba - I just think your dear husband fancied Duck !! Have a great time with the family!
It’s Diane’s daughter Emma’s 21st Birthday today!!! Happy Birthday Emma!! Xxxx
Love to all, and hugs for PP , Laine and Norah. Plus one for someone who said they needed one and I’ve forgotten the name! Sorry!
Myra ( Friend of Maureen!” Xxx

Hi Sue. Although this is not usually the style of card that I would make, I have always admired the Scandi look and this card certainly does not disappoint. Love it.

Maureen Killen said...

Hello Sue,
What a beautiful Scandi looking card today, and the background is so clever.
Pam, I hope the twins have an amazing time and please get those meds checked quickly as BP and headaches are not good together! Daughter and oldesst granddaughter (13) had an amazing time at the Dodi concert and Eleanor waited to give a letter and some of her artwork to Dodi, but she didn't appear so gave it to the Tour Manager, who was super impressed. I've heard all about it, more than once ha ha.
Marie P, you are a star tackling all that at the age of 86. Good for you!
Saba, Peter is a goose for buying duck instead of chicken ha ha.
Myra, did the curtains survive the pixie powders?
Donita, I meant to say that I always wondered what those big water buckets which hung below planes or helicopters were called. Bambi Buckets, what a good quiz question!!! I've done my neighbours cards, my family cards, but it's the gang cards which are giving me trouble - a bit like them really ha ha.
Elaine, brilliant news re Andrew's rash. He should be able to get his treatment this week. I hope John's meds are sorted soon.
Steph, I agree with your comments regarding glue. There's nothing like CE dries clear but I also agree with Myra in that I wish the nozzle and cap could be improved.
Helen, oh please don't talk about decorating. I suppose we'll have to start soon.
Fluffycat, I was watching Christmas films yesterday while sitting with my youngest granddaughter, then we graduated to Despicable Me 2, for about the fourth time ha ha. It's a Wonderful Life will be coming on in a month or so!!!!
Congratulations to Viki - enjoy.
Love to all,
Maureen (fried Myra's fiend) xxx

Good Morning (Sunday)....I stayed up late, actually finishing a Christmas card and watching a movie as hubby wasn't home and then watched the video in bed and got through part of the blog posts and had to call it a night so am behind posting. I guess that fits in with no time for all that is involved in the card making process...made a card, didn't get to the blog...and of course the usual Saturday stuff.
I love this card. Very pretty...the embossing folder is lovely. I have been using embossing folders more this year that I had been. I go in spurts but there are so many beautiful effects using them.
The glue postings were very interesting. I do not have any CE glue! We just don't have access to many of these products here. I do use (I hope) a good glue, have not noticed any of my cards falling apart. I am also a fan of Scor-tape.I have been using glue on the back of foam tape on glitter (thank you Sue). Some of the gals in my group have been using school glue they put on a sponge and store in a Tupperware container. Then they rub their die cut over top. I passed on I do want my cards stuck with better glue and two, I would get glue all over and I hate to see dried glue on cards. I am going to order CE glue next time I order something from England.
Congrats Viki! Way to go. Love to everyone and Pam, hoping the headache left you this AM.
