Wednesday Weekly Card Giveway

Hello all!  Today's offering is a card that I made last year, but somehow completely missed blogging it.  I started by using my Grand Rectangles to create a frame.  I cut them to the desired size, then added them to the Basket weave folder for embossing.  This was done with the card still in the dies so the embossing has to be done with the folder open so the dies do not cut into the folder itself.  I added mounting foam to the back and went to work on the focal element.  Using the Delicate Doily die, I cut the decorative insert in to periwinkle blue card.  Out of black card, I cut the Lacy Tiers die and glued it in place around the doily cut out.  Using a score tool, I added a double score line around the edge.  I mounted my embossed frame over the focal element.  I stamped a sentiment on to a forked tag and folded it and glued it to the side of the frame.  I added some black tulle and a swirl from the Jewelled Flowers set and seated a handmade sugared rose on top.  A single black pearl in the centre and a white mat finished the card nicely.  I think this one would cheer up any one not feeling well, don't you!  Leave a comment today if you would like to be included in the drawing for it with the winner to be announced on Saturday's post.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" in size.

I know that we have reached our goal of 5000 followers for the blog candy drawing.  I am headed home today so I will get everything caught up and hopefully do the drawing and post the winners on Friday afternoon.  It is quite the process, so please bear with me a few more days.  All for now, Sue x

GM Sue - love this card and love the blue. Ydays video with the flower centres is a brilliant idea and one I haven't seen before - it's defintely a must try! Hope you have a good journey home - it's cool and soggy here at the mo so hope you have a little sunshine packed in your case for us along with loads of your fantastic samples - hope we will get a sneak peek?.. - is it your new die range coming soon?... urgho - if so I can feel my ccard trembling! I will be glued to your shows at the weekend - have done some sorting in my craft room but still a bit more to do - I have a vision of how I want it to be but some tough decisions must be made about getting rid of stuff and I have to be 'in the mood' to be tough and get rid. Off to do some ironing then the craft room gets it - hopfully! Best wishes to all Wilsonettes in need of them.

Today's gift is a beautiful piece of art and would enhance anyone's wall rather than subjecting it to the postal service. I defy anyone not to love this piece.
The colour scheme is gentle (have fallen in love with the Periwinkle blue) and then out pops the touch of black to just finish off.
Brenda - Oh yes I know that phrase 'just in case' very well. When unpacking carrier bags appear mysteriously and they're not mine!
Sandra - it's my Daughter who rescues/cares for all the animals. Our holiday home is in Burgundy in the department of Nievre.
Hope you have a good flight home and that you leave everyone in the US in good health and many happy memories made.
Take care everyone and see you tomorrow.

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
I love the blue of the card, it is so beautiful in colour and the black additions just make it pop all the more. I love the swirl from the jeweled set, with the beautiful rose on top, it just sets it off a treat. Need to get the grand nestabilities square dies further up the list but they always seem to be out of stock. Beautiful Sue as always, imagine for getting about such a beauty. Give Mum a cuddle and see her soon again when your holidays here is over with. Take care dear Jill until we can give you another load of cuddles via Sue.
June (Yorkielass), Happy Birthday flower. I hope you have a great day and someone is good to you. Yes it is my birthday as well today, having always had a numbers thing going on in my head, the 6 for the month, 66 for the year, but if you add the 3 6's together you get the 18. Born the right month and year, plus being a twin, Jim was the other half of me not only in star sign, but in life as well. He was the naughty have of the twins sign and i was the quiet side. Thank you girls for my birthday wishes. Just shown Rory your Happy Birthday note Pam, got him to read it out, but still waiting on him saying to me, but that's Rory as it will dawn on him later on.
Going into Stirling to meet my friend for a cup of coffee and a window shop and back for a coffee.
Gentle hugs to our fragile friends and i hope that the sun is shining where ever you are, if not outside i hope it can from inside out.
Love and crafty hugs

Sue - Im sure you have made many happy memories during your time in Florida, but I imagin it gets no easier when you have to leave for the airport. Have a safe and comfortable journey back to the UK. No point in saying rest and relax on your return, as we all know just how manic life is for you !
Todays card is stunning, truly beautiful. Keeping my fingers crossed (well I would if they were the right shape and size to cross) LOL.
Im really looking forward to watching your shows Saturday (hope they have bought a bucket to replace the cup for all the emails you will receive)
Unfortunatly its market day Sunday so will record : (
To all my lovely friends that need love and hugs there are many for you all.
Yorkielass and Norah enjoy your birthdays.

Love to all.

Good morning Sue,
and good morning to all the ladies. I've a load of apologies to make. Brenda, I'm sorry I didn't realise it was the big 1st communion day on Sunday. I hope you all had a gorgeous day and that your granddaughter enjoyed herself and got loads of cards and presents.
June (Yorkielass) and Norah - Happy Birthday.
All the ladies who are poorly - get well soon and those who have been bereaved I hope you will soon feel sronger - I'm sorry I haven't named you individually but I'm hopeless at remembering names.
Finally - Sue, if I'd realised that you would answer my call to come back to the U.K. so quickly (I blogged you to come back yesterday), I'd have put the request in sooner.
Love and best wishes to all xx

Hi Sue,
Today's card goes up there with my favourites! It is beautiful. I love everything about it I don't have the grand squares but I must try to get them. I really liked the double scoring - its these little touches that make a "Sue Card."
Love the rose and swirl too.
Safe journey, Sue, sad to leave Mum but I guess not for too long this time. Going to Warwick to see our son and daughter in law at the weekend so will miss the Shows Live ! - I can't believe it - however I have set all shows on both days to Record.
June and Norah - Happy Birthday - hope sun shining.
Tina great to hear from you - think of you often - welcome Bubble and Squeak - great names!
Sandra - heard your email read out yesterday. I sent an email in as Julia is such a lovely person.
Sending hugs to Steph, Julie ( hope you ok x) ,Gail , Ita , Cazzie , Tres and any I have missed.
Love to all friends on this blog of blogs!

Love today's card and would like to say how poorly I feel and am certain that only having this card to cheer me up is all I need to lose this horrid green thing that sounds a bit like zealous.
I make yesterday's card yesterday, and as predicted I was not as good as yours but it wasn't so bad that I have sent it to my sister in law.
Please bring some sunshine back with you please.
