Wedgewood Blue Filigree

Hi bloggers!  This is one one of my favourite cards from the current series of videos.  I  think it shows off several really good techniques with the dies and I think you will enjoy this one!  The Heart Lattice folder used in the demo are on the way and should be back in stock by late June/early July.  Thank you so much for all the lovely Birthday wishes yesterday, it really made the day extra special for me!

Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. I hope you were spoiled yesterday and had a chocolate martini or two. Any pics to share? : )
Another gorgeous card. Periwinkle blue/white/black is a fabulous combination. I need to get the stamp, the lacey detail looks so real, it is beautiful. Thanks for making the dies work so well together, being able to make that thin mat saves so much time : )
Pam, my daily hug to you : )
Ahuug for all that are in need including Julie, Jean and Gail.
Norah, so sorry that you weren't too good. I hope you are feeling better today. Did you manage to sort the wool out? I had a vision of it all popping out of the cupboard when you opened the door! Good reminder about the double sided tape for those that are nervous of gilding flakes. The sun is shining here at the moment, I hope your hills are clear too : )
Cameeli, I hope your eye is sorted out, that must be such a worry.
Theresa/TOB, you were very lucky weren't you! If I do something like that I get the giggles which can make matters even worse so well done : )
Brenda, how lovely for you and your sister. Thank you for sharing that special time with us : )
I hope everyone has a good day. Take care.

Good morning Sue
An exquisite card again today your Californian collection dies are so versatile as all your sets of dies are. You can tell that they were designed by a crafter for a crafter. What a great idea to add beads to the Creative Expressions pins. I'm going to try that because I have quite a few small beads that I could use with my CE pins. I can't wait for the lattice hearts embossing to come back in stock.
Glad you had a great birthday.

Now Sue I'm going into the world of gilding flakes for the first time today so please wish me luck. I can see flakes going all over the place but I have cut a set of dies which need this technique so fingers crossed - yours please.
Rather windy and cold at the moment here in Sheffield but at least it's dry.

Good morning Sue while i can still say that and to our wonderful Wilsonettes,
I love this card Sue and the touch of blue with the black just takes away the darkness for me. That wee hint of blue top and bottom of the bottom black layer just lifts it and the flower, bow and stick pins finish it off to perfection(sorry non bow people). Glad that you had a lovely birthday yesterday and there seems to be a few Gemini's amongst us. Little factoid:- Did you know that Gemini's are supposed to be crafty with there hands and good with all things pertaining to the making of things? I wonder where i went wrong then. Although good at practical crafts my twin Jim was the real artist, so clever that he could see something once and memorize it. But that was only if he could be bothered in which he could tell you everything in great detail to the minutest insignificant detail. So that is why you are so exceptionally clever with your hands and design.
Mrs B. what you imagined is only the tip of the iceberg believe me. Wool cupboard didn't get even started as i called the doctors for an appointment yesterday for the wee lad as he has conjunctivitis, can't get an appointment until next wednesday. School called to say they were bringing him back home as he couldn't see, so called the doc's back up to be told by this wee nark of a doctor that "Mrs McPhee, Schools are under the misapprehension that they need to send children home when a child has this. It is merely a viral condition that can be treated at the pharmacy by the chemist". I takes him around there, where the chemist tells me it is highly contagious and he shouldn't be at school. So i told the lassie chemist what our glorious, him that should be obeyed doc said and she was dumbfounded that a doctor could actually come away with such a stupid informed statement. The daughter decides we are going to that cheap shop on the telly for our groceries. That was funny, as the whole time we were in the shop her face was bright red and she is trying to quckly run me through this shop. Have you ever tried running when your legs collywobble beneath you the whole time? MMhh, will go myself next time as all i could do when back home was drop where i stood. Then drags me off to the fat club where the woman who took it all those years ago is still doing it and recognised me on sight. We'll try, but if those scales say one at a time please again i'm not going back.
Julie flower, oh how lovely it is to see you back amongst us again. Give the other eye time and i truly hope it comes back to normal. It was so lovely having your lovely husband become a honorary member of the Wilsonettes and for him to report your progress and to see that you have a husband among few.
Cameeli, now we don't want another going off awol on us, so please take care of the good eye. If you have cucumbers ready, cut one up and use it as a coolant on your eyes.
see you in a minute
Norah

Glenharon said...

Back again, as i was well over the character amount...ooops.

OOOOH Brenda, it'll not be the same mixing with us after your encounter with the regal classes. Did your sister have to tell them who she was bringing as they normal vet ALL that could come in contact with their Majesty's at the royal tea parties. But i am glad that she had literally the time of her life. It will be one memory that she will never ever forget.
Lindsay, i see your good intentions went missing as did mine yesterday. Och what's another day in the grand scheme of things and at least you got something done. How is our little stallion and wee foals coming on? I hope Floppy is making some progress(i have my fingers crossed for our two wee heros).
Have a great couple of days away Alice, enjoy your quiet time.
Janette, how about either the Black Watch or the Royal Stewart(which being a red fan is my favourite but also my own tartan) for the 50th birthday card. A lovely splash of colour there in the Royal Stewart.
Dawn, my mind went and wandered off leaving behind the matter. Still gone this morning, but i am hoping that i will be better again in a few days, just need to try and keep going. But i do feel so totally spoiled by the fact that the Wilsonettes are so very, very caring and makes most of my days, even when i am so sore, worth getting up for the new day.
To our Steph in the hospital, flower i can't wait until you are back amongst the Wilsonettes again, but be good and i hope what they are doing is going to be worth while.
Tina, i'm sending you the biggest cyber hug i can, your days are going to get better, but it takes time and us, your family and normal friends to get you through. I hope that you are back again soon flower.
From a (dry) Ochils i send hugs to our fragile friends and to anyone in need of one today,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah(Glenochil)

Good afternoon Sue and all the Wilsonettes.
I'm so glad to hear you had a fab day yesterday.
I haven't watched the video yet but have looked at the card and all the photo shows and wow. You make my day. I've said before but if I pass as much attention at school I would be an A* student. I love learning from you and what's more being dyslexic you make it so much easier to learn. Show me purely written instructions and I've given up before I start, but the pictures and videos make it easier to understand.
Can I just say what a brilliant little group of ladies this is. So caring. I didn't realise in the early days that you could gain cyber friends from here.
I'm so sorry you feel poorly Norah it is horrible when you don't feel well. Sending crafty hugs to you. To all the others who are suffering I send crafty hugs too.
If there are any ladies reading this who went to see Sue in Preston last year at Inspirations, it would be lovely if you mentioned this in you next post. Would be lovely to have an idea who's who so to speak.
Well I'm off to watch the video. Have the best day you possibly can.
Lots of crafty love to all
Jo xx

P's. Those with Sun, relish it. It's not too good in Blackpool. One of those days you don't know what to wear lol xx

Apologies Sue For using your space,
Norah - yes my sister did have to say who she was bringing and I had to be vetted, but also had my own beautiful invitation in the post - a real keepsake I can tell you. Hope your wee boys eyes are better today. I used to work in a school, we would always send children home with conjunctivitis, they could not return until it had been treated!
Pam, June, Mrs B, P in Wales, Myra, Apologies if I have missed anyone, I am passing on all your lovely messages to my sister, she is still floating on air, it really was a fabulous afternoon, thank you everyone. what a fantastic caring and thoughtful family this is.

Hi Sue,
Just popped back as watched video with my afternoon coffee! The card is just gorgeous . I have that entire set and I use it all the time - the stamp is lovely stamped with perfect medium and then blue embossing powder too. I know it wouldn't work with this card but I just love it!
Adding beads to the pearl pins is a great tip too! Have been making them from scratch but do like the pearl tops and they can be hard to find.
So glad you had a lovely Birthday - well deserved is all I can say! x
Love Myra

Great video as always Sue. Have just got my Grand Square Nestabilities and will have a go at the embossed frame you did a while ago, no more wonky matting and layering. Good evening Sue & my lovely blog friends,
Sue this has to be THE NICEST CARD I gave seen for a long time, I love, love, love it, the pop of blue makes a huge difference to the monochrome, that combined with the gorgeous combination Of your dies, a real winner Sue!
Cameeli, please take it easy, I miss your humour, you are usually the first person to make new smile every morning!
Norah, sounds like you need a rest and feet up after a whirlwind shopping experience and listening to nonsense talking doctors!
Lynda, hugs back to you, Annie & Bambi from me, Milo& bella!
Julie I am glad you are on the mend and that the lovely messages were a comfort to you both!
It's hard to put into words what knowing other people think about you feels like, but it makes such a difference!

Beautiful card, Sue, and very good video. I really like the California collection. The dies all work so well together and the coordinating stamps add even more design options. With the different sizes and styles in the set, the rose dies are also so versatile and the filigree rose is beautifully delicate. I have them all and really enjoy working with them.
