Get Well Soon

Hello all!  What a weekend!  Still getting over the jet lag a bit, but have to hit the ground running as I am filming the third series of videos this week!
Before I rush off though,  I want to share this pretty card with you.  I stamped the Woven Leaves stamp on to lilac card using a black Archival ink pad.  I cut it out with the matching Granada die from the Spanish Collection, giving it some pretty detail around the edge.  While it was still in the die, I used some Shaded Lilac distress ink to add a bit more depth to it, leaving the uninked edge to frame it when you remove the die.    I wanted to create a background with a nice decorative edge to seat it on so I picked the Scalloped Borders Two die set.  I cut one side using the insert and an edge, then placed my die cut focal element in the centre and aligned the die around it and taped it in place to cut, just so that I knew exactly where the other edge needed to be cut. That way, the decorative edge is showing nicely behind both sides of the die cut. I wanted to add some texture so I embossed it with the Art Deco Fanfare embossing folder.  I added a larger lilac mat and used a white gel pen to add detail to the edges of it.   I mounted the die cut  in the middle with foam.  I stamped my sentiment in black ink and cut it out with an oval die.  I inked it with Shaded Lilac before removing it from the die.  I used the Decorative Frames set B from the California Collection to cut a small black die to act as a shadow and mounted my sentiment on it.  Using the Classic Rose die set, I made three different sized roses, sugared them with Diamond Sprinkles and added them around my sentiment, with the largest flower being seated upon a messy bow tied from mauve seam binding.  I added a white double mat with Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots around the edge to complete the card.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Love todays card as I always do. Watched all of the shows and thought you were great but not enough time for you to demo which is a great shame.
Hope everyone is well, love & hugs to all who need them. Have a good day everyone.
Gail love to your son and brother, you are always in my thoughts.
Steph, hope the market sale went well. Time now to rest before the wedding, which will be fantastic.

Good morning Sue
What a fabulous card! I love these matching stamp sets they are all so pretty and another 'must have'. Your classic rose set of dies are so useful and make it so easy to make roses of different sizes I especially love the small ones they are so cute.

Today's card is, yet again, stunning, sheer elegance. Love the colours and the style. I recently purchased some border dies so I know what I'll be playing with if Wimbledon gets rained off. Thank you for the fantastic shows, I learnt so much.
Take care.

Lovely card today, Sue. Like the use of the scalloped border with your own die, they complement each other so well.
The day conspired against me yesterday so missed the shows but will dip in to the C&C site for a catch-up.
Wow - more videos - wonder if you'll use the same set for filming? Fascinated by the window onto the little courtyard and the sun shining through, but guess it's not for real!! Another very busy week for you - get some 'you' time if you can.

What a fabulous weekend of shows, and today's card is beautiful. I'll have to post more later, just putting on my Victorian costume (made from my old bedroom curtains and linings) we are off to Beamish museum today with 7yr olds class and 10 yr olds class. 7year old granddaughter is studying the Victorians, and the 10 year old is studying World War 2. GM Sue - love this card - it's a must try - so much detail in this - love the white dots idea.

Watched your 1st 2 shows yday and I shall catch up on the last one on my PC today - no Freeview - you know my thoughts on this so wont bang on about it again...

That sparkle mica looks fab - cant wait to get my hands on mine and have a play.

From comments above it seems we dont have long to wait now till your new dies are released - I am wondering how you can top your current ones but I am sure you will.

Dont know where you get your energy from but hope the filming goes well - would love to see some clips of funny retakes, assuming of course you have some, as I get the impression each video is a complete take with no cuts and edits?...

ANNE CRAWFORD - glad you enjoyed your golf - I have a ladies pairs KO match Wednesday - toe is getting better - nail is still dodgy so it'll be golf sandals again as cant bear any pressure on it yet - hope it stays dry or could be wet feet time.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes. Oh Sue, I hope the adrenilin rush subsided enough to enable you to get much deserved quality sleep last night as I have just caught up with the last show last night and you were starting to get a little delirious, and not at ALL suprised, you haven't just hit the ground running, its a marathon sprint !!! Wow Sue, at least get a day to rest away from your craft room ! Do I sound like a nagging mom ? Sorry.
I dont know if they pass all emails onto you Sue, but I sent one for each show Saturday and also for the 7pm show last night (in my sleep) but I wasn't lucky enough to have it read out : (
Nice to hear a few of my friends mentioned throughout a wonderful Wilson weekend. Thank you for all your hard work to make it the best 2 days of crafting since your die collection launch. Now onto today's card. I dedicate this to all my wonderful friends that have woken and found the day hard to cope with, I hope as the day goes on so you will start to feel a little better (you know who you are)
I dont have many ingrediants to make a card as beautiful as this, but I do own one set of border dies so at least it has opened my eyes on how to use it in a different way and how to line it up, see how much your tips are needed to help those with very little knowledge as far as craft is concerned !
I have so much to do today, and tomorrow, plus I have to deliver our daughters wedding gown to her Maid of Honour, so very special cargo. Sandra, I shall be making my bride to be a 'mom to daughter' card today to give her during our 5 minute 'alone' time before her dad takes her to join her new husband - if you dont mind Id like to use some of that poem ?
SUE - Id like to thank you for your wonderful products, if it wasn't for YOU, I wouldnt know where to start or what to use to make our daughters card today, so if.I manage to do a good job, then its YOU I will need to thank.

Sending love to Gail - Im thinking of you SO much, wish I could give you more than a blog hug my sad sweetheart xx
Pam - warm caring hugs to you also hon xx
To all Wilsonettes that need hugs for whatever reason I still have many to give, feel free to take one.

Love you.
Lancashire Steph xx

Steph please feel free, I put it on to inspire you as I thought of you when I was deciding which card to post, I would love to see your finished card. I was trying to find a way to contact you to let you know! We should all share email addresses privately. Not sure how though.
Mrs Duck your jokes made me laugh, was great to hear your name eras out twice, I was beginning to get frustrated as I emailed into every show but alas I didn't make the show until the 2 o'clock show, I gave you all a 'shout out' haha
Mrs B, please rest and recuperate, I knew you would over do it and make yourself exhausted, thank you 'miss B' for commenting and looking after your mummy!
Norah, sounds like you gad a fun night out! You sound such a giggle! I picture you atop a high bar stool, swinging you legs, like a little girl! Haha you really do conjure up some images,mi hope the sun is illuminating you hills today!

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Oh what a beautiful card today, between the colours, the dies and the stamp, it is a truly beautiful card. The stamps i think are going to have to go on my need list, not the want one as it is so pretty. Apart from the stamp i think that i might have all/nearly all the ingredients to try this WOW today. The wee white roses are so pretty and finish it off to a t. Thank you Sue, you have given so much of you to us in showing us your creations and how they were achieved. The inspiration that you give us each day whether it is a card that we would love to aspire to or one that is not quite us but gives us ideas to make our own changes, you are worth your weight in platinum never mind gold.
Pat S (whitney), no flower i don't know of any changes to C&C demo policy, i was just adding my tuppence worth from an early conversation on the amount of time spent on viewing the products coming up in the show and how they could get around it and show more of the demo's done by their guests, that's all.
Well done Theresa and all who won a WOW over the weekend, enjoy your mini masterpieces.
Welcome Pippa to the best blog ever and to our blogging family.
Susan(Paper Junkie), flower they would not have given you a beautiful song to sing if you didn't have the beautiful voice to go with it. You are going to knock them in to silence when you start singing. Remember canaries sing the sweetest songs of all the birds, so sing as if no one is listening and enjoy it.
Mrs.B.- what you need flower is a massage with a topical cream or gel, an electric blanket and a good bed with your tablet or laptop and some decent tv after your sleepover. It's fine for the young ones sleeping rough, but getting that bit older like me i need comfort thank you very much. I bet the children had a ball.
Karen(Magpie), been there and done that and been disappointed that it was gone between putting in basket and paying. I'm so glad that your hubby will be allowed his license back as it will make the biggest difference to you both. I hope that he gets it soon and the wee car to go with it.
Steph, it's mumper and moaner here again at you, please try and take it easy this next few days so that you can enjoy your wee girls big day. We want you to be as pain free as physically possible so that you look radiant next to your beautiful baby girl and i think that making a card just for her is so very special. Will come down from moaning at you.
A nice day here so away to start on my neices wedding invites while i have peace and watch Sue from weekend shows. Take care everyone and sending gentle hugs to our fragile friends that need just that shoulder and someone to care,
Love and crafty hugs

Morning Sue
This is my sort of card, it's so pretty. Will be buy stamp and dies right now. : ). I have a query, I'm having trouble with my cosmic shimmer glues when making faux gems, they don't stay but flatten out. Does any one have a suggestion what I'm doing wrong.?

Hello Sue
What a gorgeous card today and luckily I have most of the "ingredients" apart from the stamp which I am about to source! The colour is just so pretty and a favourite of mine.
I managed to watch about half of your shows at the weekend and have recorded all of them to watch when the sun has disappeared. They were really great and your demos and tips were so fantastic,as usual.
I am not a great fan of starting Christmas this early especially before I have been on my Summer Holiday but I have my shopping list ready along with lots of ideas from your wonderful variety of samples.
I hope the filming goes well and perhaps then you will find some time to relax. I am sure a wonderful massage would go down well, when you have the time!
Thank you for all the inspiration you give us and look after yourself!!
Love

Beautiful card,Sue--thank you for sharing.
I don't quite understand part of your directions tho-" I cut one side using the insert and an edge, then placed my die in the centre and aligned the die around it and taped it in place to cut. That way, the decorative edge is showing nicely behind both sides of the die cut."
I hope you will do a video if you haven't already.

Hi Sue,
Pretty card, love the border panel and white dots down the sides of the lilac card too.
Donna Jones

BETH T, it took me a few reads to understand but if my head worked it out correctly then you would need to cut your border insert and edge on one side of a panel, then place the main focal element die in the middle and use as a guide to place and tape securely the border insert and edge on the other side of the panel, remove main focal die before cutting border. Hope that helps apologies if I made it worse :-)

What a gorgeous card Sue - and not a Christmassy thing in sight! Hope you are getting over your hectic week-end - managed to see on the computer some of the 7pm show - just loved the Jingle Bells going on in the background - what were they thinking? I was just shouting at the screen Stop it at once! when you then said (more politely than I would have) "do you think we could turn that off?" What a cracker - if you'll excuse the pun. Thank you for all your wonderful inspiration.

Thank you Norah for your very kind support - it can be nerve racking but I have always loved to sing (started in my pram)and yes - it is one of the things I know I can do well. My fruit and veg on my plot are all thriving so they must like it - I try not to see the whites of their eyes (the audience not the veg) so I always sing to the little man on the exit sign at the back of the hall! Bless you and all the lovely Wilsonettes. Susan X

Wheely Bad said...

Hi Sue

Had to smile when the picture of the card loaded as I'm horizontal after 'all' that sewing. Over- streched my back while using the machine (seriously going to invest in a sewing machine table at Wheely appropriate height) then mashed myself up properly attending the party of the very special recipient of the bag I'd made by one to many games of boccia. All good fun though and was worth it to make the birthday girl happy.

I have some of the dies you used today on that stunning card and as usual you've made them sing. I think the pattern on that swirly stamp is lovely, will have to list that one.

I enjoyed the shows I saw and still have sundays shows to watch, I really only see Christmas cards as a bit of a chore and not to be considered til August 1st even though I struggle to make 40 odd cards between then and December 25th! But you have enthused me and I might even have a go this week!

I think you need a little r and r to get over the jet lag! You must've worked so hard on the weekends shows.

Anyhoo, Mr WheelyBad is home and has made me a nice cup of decaf coffee so I must be off

Crafty hugs,

T x

Thoroughly enjoyed all the Shows and I too sent in emails but so long as you know we are there - that's all that matters! Your demonstrations were lovely as always and the cards you brought exquisite! I had no intention of buying any stamps until I saw what you could do with them. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication - you are a complete Star! As Maryann says - slow down just a bit so that you don't make yourself ill . Pretty please xx

Anne - I've been away so just catching up! Glad Captain'sDay went well.
Maureen - hope you've had a super day at Beamish as its a great place to visit. Children are great too!
Been at my after school Craft Class today! Ella arrived with a rather purple mouth! What have you been eating ? I've been on a school trip Miss! Where have you been? Tesco , Miss. After a breath and stifled giggle - what did you do there? We tried fruit , Miss! - I really liked them blueberries! Tesco was a big hit! She then went on to say that each child was given a big doughnut to take home! Healthy eating!
I must stop - but just want to send love to Cazzie, Julie , Gail, Norah, Steph, Lynne, Lynda, Margaret, Tres, Sandra ( and kittens) and Mrs B - you are a Star also!
Love to you Sue, and all on this bestest blog!

I sometimes go into school 4 days a week to help with reading, craft and anything else the various classes want me to do.
I enjoy it so much, the children are lovely and it's a very small school, only about 200 children. I'm sorry to read that so many people are not well, have had ops, and have relations who are ill, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
