Wednesday Weekly Card Giveway

Hello all!  Today's offering is a card that I made last year, but somehow completely missed blogging it.  I started by using my Grand Rectangles to create a frame.  I cut them to the desired size, then added them to the Basket weave folder for embossing.  This was done with the card still in the dies so the embossing has to be done with the folder open so the dies do not cut into the folder itself.  I added mounting foam to the back and went to work on the focal element.  Using the Delicate Doily die, I cut the decorative insert in to periwinkle blue card.  Out of black card, I cut the Lacy Tiers die and glued it in place around the doily cut out.  Using a score tool, I added a double score line around the edge.  I mounted my embossed frame over the focal element.  I stamped a sentiment on to a forked tag and folded it and glued it to the side of the frame.  I added some black tulle and a swirl from the Jewelled Flowers set and seated a handmade sugared rose on top.  A single black pearl in the centre and a white mat finished the card nicely.  I think this one would cheer up any one not feeling well, don't you!  Leave a comment today if you would like to be included in the drawing for it with the winner to be announced on Saturday's post.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" in size.

I know that we have reached our goal of 5000 followers for the blog candy drawing.  I am headed home today so I will get everything caught up and hopefully do the drawing and post the winners on Friday afternoon.  It is quite the process, so please bear with me a few more days.  All for now, Sue x

Beautiful card. I love the lacy look. First glance, I thought of a snowflake. How pretty it would be in silver and blue. Some lucky person will get to enjoy this card in person while the rest of us will enjoy it on the web.

Sue,
What a gorgeous card, love the color. I love your scoreboard trick. I also want to thank you about the double embossing trick...I was instructed by a certain company it would be okay to emboss with the folder closed, but as you said, it did cut into the folder, and now there is a cut mark, although it is not so noticeable because the design is busy, I know it's there.
