Merry Christmas

Hello my crafty friends!  It's another Christmas card, but you might not have known if it weren't for the blog title today.  See, I am trying very hard to gently nudge you in the Christmassy direction without a full on, in your face, can't be anything other than a Christmas card sort of card (those come later!)! LOL  In fact, I think what really appealed to me about this new stamp set from Justrite is that they aren't overly snowflake-ish, they could easily be used throughout the year for making great backgrounds or even a focal stamp to add behind a die cut sentiment, don't you think?  This is definitely in the CAS (clean and simple) category of cards,  It is relatively flat except for the centre pearls, so very easy to post.  If you just can't do a blue Christmas card, then imagine these stamped and embossed in gold on green or red card for a more traditional card, stunning!  This card really needs no explanation, but in case you just want to know the names of everything I used, here goes!  I started with a piece of periwinkle card for the background.  I stamped the Justrite stamp from their new set called Snowflakes twice using a black Archival ink pad.  I like the way it looks when stamps are going off the page so I did that on one of them.  I used my Score board to add two score lines beneath the snowflakes and stamped my sentiment below in the lower right hand corner.  The sentiment is from a new Justrite set called Elegant Christmas Swirls.  To finish the card, I simply did some matting and layering, a thin white mat, then a pierced black mat and a final white mat.  A white flatback pearl in the centre of each of the snowflakes and Bob's your uncle! (I love that saying!)  The finished dimensions are  6 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size.

Now for the Wednesday card giveaway winner.  The name drawn this week is:

Pauline A!!!

I still have not heard from last week's winner, Aquarius, either, so if both winners could email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm their address and claim their cards, that would be great!

I apologise as I got a bit ahead of myself yesterday (I'm blaming it on the jet lag, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL), but I not only had the date incorrect, but one of the showtimes as well.  The shows today are at 9am, 12 noon and 6pm!

If you haven't checked to see if your name was drawn in the blog candy drawing, scroll down to the post below this one to see, as I posted it Friday afternoon.  All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue and everyone. The colours don't really work for me on this card, but as you say imagine it with gold on red or green for Christmas. It's all about inspiration not copying someone else's ideas and boy do you inspire us. Just off to check that no one has altered the magic box settings and that all you shows are set, so pleased that you are back on our screens. Have fun with your shows.
Happy weekend to all. Sue xxx

Hi Sue
Father Christmas is in the studios early as a special guest, so I wouldn't worry about gentle looking cards as opposed to full on Christmas coloured samples as I think today will be very Christmassy for all who tune in!
Think the studio looks great as those are my favourite Christmas colours too.
Looking forward to seeing you again. x

Hi Sue,
Hope you're half-way back to normal (ie not jetlagged), you'll need it for this weekend, I'm sure.
Today's card is really nice and you're right, the "snowflakes" could be used throughout the year - in fact I hadn't cottoned on at first that's what they were.
I like the design, could adapt that to poinsettias and the like......
All set to watch and record your shows.

morning Sue
It's the longest day today and it looks as though summer has arrived at long last. Hopefully now it will stay for a little while. Perhaps it's celebrating your return Sue. I know all your Wilsonettes are. You more than deserve the number of 5,000 - you give us inspiration and show us that the world is a much better place when people join together whether near or far apart and when you think that more than 99.9% of us have never met in person that has to be an achievement in itself.
Today's gift is definitely in my 'less is more' and what a delight to make especially if you have to do batch making. Any colour would be wonderful.
I have to record you first show but will be watching the others today.
Hope that everyone who has a special occasion today has a superb time and for the rest of us have a really good weekend.
Take care and see you tomorrow.
Congratulations to all the very lucky winners this week.

Morning Sue, So that is what CAS stands for, thank you, I couldn't fathom out what it stood for !! Am I thick or what haha.
This card is great and could be made into a smaller card, I always have quite a lot of cards to send, and this would be ideal and would 'pass' the scrutiny of the Post Office haha. I made a 6 x 6 card for a friend's Birthday and made the box for it, and had to do the depth of the card at three quarters of an inch and of course it wouldn't go through the 'slot' for a 'letter', it had to be the 'large letter' slot, which cost 93p !!!! So anything that will save on postage is a 'boon' for me.
Congratulations to Pauline A, and Congratulations to all the Blog Candy winners, enjoy your goodies !!
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Hello Sue, I love the less is more about this card. It seem weird to have Christmas when we haven't had our summer yet.
Pleased to see you back on C &C, I will be watching all of your shows.

Lovely card Sue, stamping with matting and layering , even I could replicate it.
Congratulations to Pauline on winning the card and to all the blog candy winners, enjoy your prizes.
Have emailed in but no luck, heard Norah's email read out but no joy, will try again on the later show.
Hubby bought me the Mystical Embrace spellbinder die from the web a lot cheaper with free p&p. I do like the little Gingerbread men in the Justrite stamp set so will look out for them on the web.
Sue your card samples are absolutely stunning and really put me in the Christmas mood.

Hi Sue, Just been watching you on C & C love the triple stamping and love this card and the Sneak Peak card, as always wonderful inspiration. So glad you have so many people who realise how talented you are and what a lovely person you are.

Hi Sue, most definitely a clean and simple card and I love it even though it is blue; I can already see it in gold on green or red card. Perfect for the 20 or so cards I make for my circle of crafting friends. I have to make them all the same with only variations of colour to avoid the 'her card is nicer than mine' scenario!
Caught most of the 9am show and am just going to watch the recorded 12 noon show for a further 'Sue fix'.
Congratulations to Pauline for being a Wednesday Winner.

Hi Sue and fellow bloggers. Thank you so much Sue for your gorgeous demos on C&C today. All last week I have been pretty much bed ridden. I’ve checked your blog each day on my phone but I don’t like commenting as I find typing on my phone just too fiddly. Anyway, I love making Christmas cards so today’s card and shows are warming up my crafty taste buds! Just wish I could craft at the moment.

I have had a couple of physio sessions now and I am doing my exercises but the swelling means I have to keep my leg elevated most of the time. It is soooooooo frustrating. I am used to dashing around like a tornado so all this rest is killing me!!! Thank heavens for your daily blog and inspirational shows. I’m looking forward to your 6pm show and those tomorrow. Ho Ho Ho.

Sending love and hugs to everyone. Caz x

Hi, Sue
Two lovely Christmas Cards today and yesterday. Both elegant and not overly Christmassy. Thankyou for easing us in gently Lol !

Missed your shows this morning as I had to take Sapphire to the vets after a suspected bee / wasp sting yesterday evening. I have them recorded though : - )
I set the recorder for all your shows last night to be sure.
Enjoyed your demos this afternoon.
Sent in an email to C&C but mine never seem to be read out :-(

Hi to Norah, heard your email read out on the show :-)

Good evening Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
What a beautiful card you have made for us yet again Sue. It must be difficult trying to get into Christmas mode in April especially if you are in the sun shine state of Florida. The easing us gently into that mind set is working so slowly. Today's card is so clean and elegent looking that you could make up a few reasonably quickly and i don't think anyone would take umbridge as it has that quality air about it.
Well done blog winners, i really hope you have rare fun enjoying your new goodies when they arrive. Pauline, you have a beautiful WOW coming in your direction, well done and enjoy it when it arrives. Winning a Sue masterpiece is like no other feeling, you feel like you have won the lottery , the grand prize.
I didn't get to the party as was waiting for a delivery company coming to up lift a parcel and by the time they came i wasn't worth two buttons. Going out tonight on a hen night, which is something i have never every been on so chopped 6" off the hair and put my fringe back in(cheaper than botox and lasts better too). Kirsten has straightened my hair and put the war paint on and it just doesn't look like me when i look in the mirror some how. She's done the nails a deep red to match the lip glossy stuff that she has put on me. I look like a dish o fish and no mistake.
Oh was i fair excited this morning when the postman delivered my prize from creative expressions, i was like an excited 2 year old as it still hadn't sunk in that it was real.I have going to have rare fun trying it out on Monday when i have peace and quiet.
Tandy, i hope your hubby's finger is getting better as you know what it's like, it is always the one that you are trying to protect that you hit every time.
Julie, sorry you're still not well the now, you seem to be having a right old time of it at the moment.
Have fun Mrs B with your Beaver Scouts, to see the joy on their wee faces is worth the pain i think and it's worth the done in feeling as you bounce back eventually.
Anne C, hope you have had a great day at the Captains day out. Have a great round and hopefully come in under par.
Awh Gail, i hope your son is ok and does get home soon. You really are living on your wits the now with your brother being ill and now your son, i hope he makes a good recovery. Tell him to make sure he has rubber on the bottom of his shoes in future before he tackles anything electrical again.
Lindsay flower i know what you mean about your dad, mines has now been away 8 of my birthdays and i miss him so much. I am thinking of your friends' dad, i hope they can help get him better soon.
Steph, i hope that you enjoyed watching while Mr.L was out at the fitters, oh how smart he is going to look next week. Please after the market tomorrow, please take it easy so that you can fully enjoy your wee girls big day.
Well, hope you all have a lovely evening and hopefully i will see you tomorrow. Sending gentle hugs to my fragile friends who for any reason needs it, take care,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue, a beautiful CAS card. Great when you have quite a few to send through the post. Your shows today were fantastic, so glad you're back with us. Lol lynne m x x x

Pesky critters are fast asleep after running around like lunatics all day. Stones and bits of grass were all brought and left in the lounge. As well as fuschia flowers left on the lawn. No wonder they're now worn out. They have got over their haircut and are now quite happy with their shorter fur as it means they are a bit cooler. Hubby has been potting up more plants so have told him that he has to be on garden patrol tomorrow as I am going to be watching Sue again.
Well done Norah on your email being read out.

Hi Sue,
I know it's rather late but I hate to miss a day! Got home tonight around 8 pm .
Have watched two Shows on Record - I sent an email to the first Show just after breakfast, but I wasn't able to watch. Have ordered gold and silver card, which I love and the snowflakes stamp set!
I love the triple stamp you did with the snowflake - I will be trying that one out ! It will match my snowflake dies from last year, I think.
I thought you looked great today - not in the least jet-lagged.
Today's card is simply elegant. I love it .
Lovely to hear some well known and well loved names from the blog read out today! Loved the tulle flower also! I keep thinking of other things I loved.
To all friends on the blog I send love and best wishes.
Steph - have a sell-out tomorrow ! - then a rest. x
Norah - hope you had a great time! x
Cazzie - lovely to hear from you - sorry you still struggling a bit. Sending love !
Love to Tina, Gail, Alison, Lynne, Sandra, Julie, Pam, Anne, Margaret, Tres , Mrs B and anyone my tired brain has forgotten!

Such an elegant card today. Lovely snowflake stamp and with the scored lines on the lower part of the card I think even I would manage to get the sentiment straight for a change.
Just finished watching my recordings of yesterday's fabulous shows. The only one I managed to watch 'live' was the mid-day show. So pleased to see you doing the triple stamping demo. Two minutes into the demo my husband came in and didn't stop talking until the show was over. Men!! That TV didn't have a pause button so it's a good job I'd recorded the show elsewhere.
Hope your son in ok, Gail.
