All Our Best Wishes

Hello my crafty friends!  Another card that shows the "Peek-a-boo" technique, but this time with a slight twist.  I started by stamping the Woven Leaves stamp that matches the Spanish Collection on to periwinkle card using a black archival ink.  I stamped it again, but this time on to coconut white card.  On the blue copy, I used the Granada die insert to cut a design out of the card.  Now the twist comes in that this time I decided I wanted to see what it would look like if they were mounted, not directly on top of each other but rather lining them up with mounting foam between them.  I really like the look but it is harder to see the whole design of the image this way.  I think it causes you to look longer at it though so that is fine.  I used the Grand Rectangle dies to create both a white and a black frame for the image.  I used the dies that were within the inner cut out and the outer cut out sizes to emboss into my frame for a bit of detail (I love doing this).  To add some embellishment to the card, I went with the Faux Quilled blooms in white, Fern Trio and the Faux Quilled Leaves and added them top and bottom in opposite corners.  By the way, these have just come back into stock so you should be able to find them at your local retailers now.  I tied a messy bow out of white seam binding and added a black jute twine bow as an accent.  I finished the card with a pierced mat layer, then a thin blue mat followed by a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x 9 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

We have sunshine to start the week so fingers crossed that it might stay around for a little while.
Sue today's gift is definitely a piece of art and should be hung in a prominent place for all to see!!
There is no way this should be placed in an envelope and given over to the rough hands of the postal/carrier services.
I love the colouring today and a really big big thank you for the tip that the quilled flowers and trio leaves are back in stock. I've been searching for these for ages so once again a very big thank you.
Crafting day for me (ah blessed peace and quiet) washing in the wash tub just waiting for Mr Tesco to deliver then it's away with my GC/glue/papers and sparkles!!
Alison hope your kitchen is now feeling better and that all family pets and you of course are rested. Note to Steph - All right young lady - you have been absent long enough so come on back to your Wilsonette Sisters who miss you. Perhaps you can formulate an escape plan soon when all is well!!!
Take care everyone and see you tomorrow.

Hi Sue, beautiful card , love the peek-a-boo technique. The flowers and leaves are brilliant. I use my faux quilled leaves dies all the time . The frame of black and white gives the card the look of a picture. Overall just fantastic. Lol lynne m x x x

Great start to the day , shopping arrived while putting it away managed to drop cans of beer I got for hubby and they spilt a fountain all over the kitchen. Then to top that putting container of gravy granules in the cupboard and that decided to jump back out and go everywhere. Trying to keep poochies out of the way whilst I cleaned up wasn't easy as they were like wriggly worms. Hubby when I told him what happened said don't touch anything else in case you break it!!! Blooming cheek . Oh well, me and poochies are going to put our feet/paws up now and have 40 winks. It will be garden patrol later as hubby put more plants out and I'm sure the pesky poochies have remembered where they all are.

Lol and massive hugs to all my friends here on the bestest blog ever x x x x

Hi Sue. WOW !! This is such a gorgeous card today !! I really love it all, it is stunning !! You have used the Periwinkle blue card which is one of my favourite colours at the moment. I just can't seem to put it down. I am even making a "new baby boy" card with it to as it is such a beautiful shade of blue !! The peek-a-boo technique looks fab with the top layer raised with foam pads. Like you say it definitely draws the eye in to look at it in more detail !! Your stamp is beautiful (another one for my wish list.) Thankfully I have the Granada die, it is gorgeous Sue, I really love it. I love the frames you have made to. I make frames all the time with my grand square dies. I have the grand rectangle dies to but have not yet used them very much, but I will now I have realised how beautifully they frame your Spanish collection !! I think using black card for your smallest rectangle frame on this card has really made this card come to life. I love your leaves and flowers to Sue, they are so beautiful. I finally managed to order your faux quilled blooms dies at the weekend and I can't wait for them to arrive. I have been searching for these for ages, they have been out of stock everywhere !! Thank you so much Sue for all your hard work to bring us all these stunning cards on a daily basis. It is very much appreciated. Good morning Sue,
What a really bonnie card and as you say different. I think i might get one of your stamps to try this technique out on. I love the colours as each is just right to enhance the other parts to the card. Just need to get the faux leaves and i am all set.
Cameeli, i buy a yellow rose plant for when a friend dies and give it to their family so that they know i will not forget the friendship that i had with their loved one. How is the eye pressure doing? I do hope that it is going down and back to nearer normal.
Brenda - Banish him to the hills? I feel like clobbering the greetin' faced, grumpy auld git. No, we still have a poisonous toad here who i wish one of his poisonous darts would misfire back into himself.
Maria, Antihistamine cream or neat alcohol might take away the itch for you.
Alison, What have you got against that poor wee cat? Abuse...he's going to leave home and find somewhere that will love him and not do bad things at gilding flake him, bath him, drown him with the dishwasher (i think you might be off the cats Christmas list for presents). I hope that you didn't get hurt when you slipped though.I never even though to take that saying literally until i seen my son yesterday. It came stoatin' it down up here so badly that when he came back from the park with his friends, you could have wrung the 4 of them out the were sodden. It honestly looked like they had went swimming with all their clothes on.
Gail flower i am so keeping crossed whatever will cross for your beloved brother. I do hope that they can help and give him a better fighting chance. You are in my thoughts and prayers at the moment with Tina. Please take this time to make sure he knows just how much he means to you, i never got that chance, so please take it.
Anne, hope you had a great day at your craft club.
Clare, your shelves up in your craft room will make a big difference to how much more things you can buy:)
Lynne, i'm great at the game of dropsie and i too can get beautiful soda fountains If i'm really good. Hope fur babies 40 winks are longer than yours though, as daddies little precious princesses might not be his favourites if they play hunt the plant.
Janet, i'm up for forming an escape committee to hatch our Steph from the evil doctor and his plans for world domination by taking us out of action one at a time. The funny voice has left me now so back to normal, as i don't know what came over me there.
One of our ladies married her prince charming, but had kissed a few frogs along the way, and i said that i think i had still married the wrong frog as he hadn't turned into my prince charming. Well yesterday was the day from hell with my poisonous wee frog. But on a brighter note, after all the rain that we have had, my hills are looking so beautiful with their lush green on them and the various colours of the heathers and bracken shining through. We have one of Andy Scot's sculpture at the roundabout at the top of the Tullibody bypass and that is what i seen shining against the hills this morning on going for milk. I am going to try and get a picture of it so that i can get the wee fell to upload it for me. Will keep you up to date on progress.
Have a lovely day everyone, i hope that the sun shining on you and if not let it shine out of you. Gentle hugs to our fragile friends for whatever reason,
Love and crafty hugs

Beautiful card Sue. I also love embossing into a frame as you have done with your Grand Rectangles. I do this often for added interest. Your twist on the peek-a-boo technique looks wonderful, but I have a feeling that I'd go cross-eyed lining up two images! I love your Faux Quilled Blooms more every time I see them which is why I've given in and bought them!

what a different card very pretty and very cleverly done. Like the blue card you used.

Hi Sue, You've Done It Yet Again!
Another Awesome, Elegant, Opulent, Rich Looking Card I Just love The Periwinkle Card and I so Love
The Woven Leaves Stamp, I have this one it's just so pretty, and extremely useful. I Love how you've stamped your image onto Periwinkle Card then also stamped onto Coconut White Card, love how you have cut out your image using The Fabulous Granada Die, then using Mounting Foam to give your Card Lift, when taking a closer look at The Fabulous Photography you can clearly see that your Stamps Line up, I really Love The Frame Image which I use all the time since you brought it to us on a Video where you explained it so clearly, I Love The Faux Quilled Blooms and Leaves and The Bow and Twine.
Sue This is a Extremely Stunning Beautiful Card I Love The Colours, Thank You For Sharing, For The Tips, Techniques, and The Briiliant Photography and Breakdown, Thanks for the daily inspiration it helps me daily.

Hi Sue, love the flowers, leaves, frames & colours but I had to magnify the close-up to see properly what you had done with the focal point :-) I'm sure it is beautiful in 'real life', pictures cannot do your masterpieces justice.
Thanks for the heads-up about back in stock items, I have now ordered from Joanna the flowers and ferns to go with my very much loved faux quilled leaves.
After a lovely morning the heavens opened trapping me in the greenhouse. I was happy to stay there for a while but then it became necessary for me to get back into the house so I made a run for it and ended up a bit like Norah's son! So much for flaming June lol

Hi Sue,
Just a message for Lynda if that's ok. To use Sue's embossing folders in an eBosser use (from the bottom) platform d, embossing folder +card! platform b, shim, platform c. I actually use the rubber mat instead of the shim and it works brilliantly. Hope that answers your question/ worries about the machine. Love to all Alison.xx
Ps now have new dishwasher, just needs fitting! Xx

Beautiful card Sue!
Love the embossed frame, so followed your instructions from the Faux Letterpress video and used my Grand Squares to achieve a perfect frame. You make it so easy to follow and understand!
Need some periwinkle card but Joanna has run out, will have to be patient and wait for it.
NORAH, sorry to hear about the frog! Men, cant live with them and cant live without them!!!!
I think the vast majority of men are grumpy old gits, I bought my husband a Grumpy Old Man sign to put on his cabin door, said it was from the dog!!!

Another stunning card today. The periwinkle card is gorgeous. Like how you have offset the dies and I love the frame as well. Lots of love to Steph Margaret. I'm up for an escape committee Norah for Steph. We could smuggle her out in the middle of a crowd. That's after they fix her up that is. Mind you they seem to be taking their time about it. Hugs to Pam and Cameeli as usual and anyone else who needs one.

An absolutely gorgeous creation. Think I'd like to recreate this one for me, not as a card to give to someone else but as a picture to put on my craft-room wall. I normally only make A5 cards as I have an A4 printer and so can't do inserts for larger cards. If I made something like this as a picture I wouldn't have to scale it down.
