Wednesday Card Giveaway

Hello crafters!  How is this for different?  It might not appeal to everyone, but I was happy with how it came out.  I tried to catch the shimmer from the mica on the flowers and leaves, but trust me it is there!   I used the Justrite Applique Flower set and stamped the flowers repeatedly on to black card using a clear Perfect Medium pad.  I heat embossed all the images in gold detail powder and cut them out by hand (they are really easy to cut).  I painted them using the mica powders in an assortment of colours (which I forgot to write down so can't recall exactly which ones, sorry)  Jewel tones, let's leave it at that!  You just need to add a little bit of water to the powder and you have a nice paint from it.  I stamped them again and this time just cut out the centres of the flowers and left them unpainted.  I arranged all the flowers on to the card across one side diagonally.  I stamped, coloured and cut out several of the leaves and added them around.  I used a couple of different shades of green mica to paint them.  Using the tag stamp from the set, I stamped it with a clear perfect medium and heat embossed it in gold.  I added the sentiment in the centre the same way and cut it out with the matching Vintage tag die.  I mounted it on foam in the upper corner.  I finished the card with a pierced mat of soft gold, then added a thin black mat and a final soft gold mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8 1/4" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be included in the drawing for this card.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's post.

Julia Watts has shows today on Create and Craft at 10am and 1pm.  If you happened to see the gorgeous sneak peek she had on her blog yesterday then you will know just how pretty these new stamp designs are that she is showcasing in the shows today.  Don't forget to tune in!  All for now.

I like the flowers using the mica powders but the background is a bit too black for me.

Good to see you back Steph. Hope you are soon back to 'normal' and delighting us with your tales.
