The Sweetest Flower

Good Sunday morning!  I found this lovely little card in one of my files and thought it deserved a day on the blog as it is so sweet!  I selected a polka dot patterned paper from my stash and covered it with a piece of sticky self adhesive sheet.   I peeled off the backing paper and micro beaded it for a lovely textural look.  Using the Scalloped Borders Two, I cut two using one of the decorative inserts and cutting edge.  I cut the bottom of each piece straight and mounted them on either side of a Tied Together embossed strip. I added 5mm flat back pearls to the embossed piece.   Using the Justrite Nested Cloud dies, I cut a small and large frame out of coconut white card and put them together with mounting foam.  I cut another frame out of black card to use as a shadow.  I cut the black frame in half and mounted it just peeking out of the top and bottom.  I stamped my sentiment from the Justrite Welcome Spring set using a black Archival ink pad.  Using a Tattered Rose distress ink pad, I added a light bit of shading around the sentiment.  I mounted the frames on foam then added them over the sentiment.  I seated the frame in the centre of the borders.  Using the  Layered Scallop Posy die (Heartfelt Creations), I cut some of the small flowers out of white felt and added a small pearl to the centre.  I scattered the flowers across the card diagonally.  I finished the card with a double white mat with a pierced edge on the inner mat.  Finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 7 1/2" in size.

morning Sue
We ended yesterday with the most awful thunder/hail storm. Hail the size I had never seen before - quite frightening listening to it hammering on the veranda roof. The garden this morning certainly looks sorry for itself.
Today's gift is certainly sweet. I love all the border dies as I think they just finish off certain patterns. But for me today it's the sentiment that is the winner. True Friends are very difficult to find and you know who they are at certain times in our lives.
Used my new ebosser yesterday for the first time and oh the joy of not having to turn handles. Up to now I haven't found anything I don't like about it - I ebossed a folder; embossed a die and of course cut dies. So again today I will be crafting!!
Hope you're OK Pam and feeling better day by day.
Norah I can still hear your cries of joy and wonder here in Burgundy. I can imagine you picking up your ticket and stroking it to make sure it is real.
Congratulations to all the lucky winners this week.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Take care and I'll see you tomorrow.

4 times Ive tried to send a comment ! 5th time lucky ?!
Sunday smiles to you Sue. To all dear sweet genuin friends here, thank you SO much for all your messages of best wishes on our only child's wedding day (those caring people know who you are) she blew us away and many a tissue was used I can tell you LOL.
Due to being way up in North Yorkshire very few of us had any reception, so I have really enjoyed looking at the stunning cards I have missed. I couldn't believe just how appropriate Thursday's card was considering : ) and Im pleased to say I had that striplet for my anniversary and already have the blooms, so can actually make that card. The tutorial was so helpful, thank you Sue. I love the stained glass look, but need more glitter plus the die. And today's card, well, how lush is that border 2 die ? VERY, and I really must save up for that, its sooo pretty. So at last Ive caught up ! All I need to say about our daughters wedding has been sai as 1 - only a small few would be interested and 2 - I appreciate that this is Sue's inspirational blog, and not everyone wants it turned into a 'wedding blog' !! So I wont : )

Pam - Ive not managed to read all comments I missed but I gather you are not too good yet, just remember.Im sending hugs to you, Robbie and the family.
Tina E - Thank you so much, it went down a treat and bought so much laughter after she dryly explained LOL.
Sandra - Thank you for the poem xx

And to all winners today - congratulations and enjoy.
Be happy Sue. Stay well.

Love you.

Hi Sue, I just adore the tiny little flowers, they are too sweet :). I've decided that I really need to get a piercing ruler, I tried with a 'normal' one but the holes just don't come out neat enough no matter how I try :). Have a great Sunday everyone. x

Hi Sue, a very pretty card and the tiny flowers really are so very sweet. I love the nested cloud dies and don't remember seeing them before, where have you been hiding them?

After a slow start today the weather brightened up considerably and I have been working in the garden for most of the day. Norah's hills are bathed in late evening sunshine - so much better than yesterday's downpours.

Congratulations to the blog winners, enjoy your prizes.

Wishing everyone a good week ahead.

Hi Sue and blog friends

such a pretty card to lay dormant. Can't see how it was overlooked, just beautiful.

Steph, Happy days, Just so pleased I could help, bit nail biting hoping it got there on time, Sooo chuffed. X

Margaret, I hope your mouth is less painful today. X

Norah, hope you are ok today, have'nt read anything from you, unless I'm not looking properly.

Pam, I hope Robbie is moving in the right direction, it is so hard to put into words what we want to say and what we wish for Robbie and his mum and dad. You are in my thoughts and prayers, which I have called upon so much lately, but I'm so sure there is no limitations. God bless. X

To everyone that keeps us in your daily thoughts, Thank you. Every day is a hurdle and if we don't manage to jump it, we knock it over , pick ourselves up and head for the next one. more determined every time. X

Kind regards to all :-)

Good evening Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
A lovely card with the cutest wee flowers but i have none of these today so it would need to be an improvisation job on all parts of today's beauty. The cloud die looks really nice and could prove to be very useful over time making it a very worthwhile purchase. Thank you Sue for such a beautiful card even without having any of the neccessary components it is a goal to aim for.
Well today has been one trial after another because a certain male member of my household decided to put through new pipes to put in a downstairs wc, banged his little hammer in the wrong place and burst the main water pipe feeding both us and our nextdoor neighbour. So it has to be shut off after turning our founds into floating founds. I had to go to Stirling twice to get him joints for the damaged pipes and ended up calling in a plumber to rescue us before we started fliating down to the Devon river. Was this a good idea getting Mr i can do anything to put in a wc downstairs is now on the 60/40 split against. Maybe i should just get a stair lift as it would probably be less traumatic on mine and my poor pups nerves. Tia's scared to come out encase she gets yelled at for being in the way again. Roll on tomorrow when i can have sensible conversation as i am meeting Fraces an d i am so looking forwsrd to it.
Well done girls on your win, i know you are going to have great fun with your prize when it arrives.
Steph, so lleased that evrrything went well for your darling baby girls big day. I hope that you rested when you could as it was a very long day for you. I know my favourite time of my wedding day was the time i had with my best friend( my mum) when getting dressed and then the time i had with my beloved daddy while waiting for the car. These are the times that i still treasure 23 years later and your daughter will have that same magjcal memory to carry through her new life, and everytime she remembers, a smile with such happiness will come over her. Remember dear Steph, you are your wee girls best and most constant best friend that is there for her for all time and you gave her the loviest treasure.
Pam, i hope you are feeling a bit better today and recovering from your operatio. Please be careful when you get back on your feet and don't try to do too much at once.
sandra, i hope your girls football match was a winner from them after your agony of a day in the wheelchair. Take it easy tomorrow from your bed flower and i hope you are less painful after some tlc.
Well, so tired after a marathon day with diy hubby so i will wish you all a lovely night and see you tkmorrow hopefully. Sending gentle hugs to all our fragile friends for what ever reason,
love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Dear Sue, (sorry for the late posting. )

I love this card! I adore the way you've used the border pieces next to the tied together folder strip.
The felt flowers are so pretty. I've not seen or heard of the cloud dies before I think, they are on my 'to get' list now!

I had almost thought you had forgotten about microbeads as you've been using the ice crystals more recently.

I'd love to use mine but they are still in storage 😕

As a catch up with my moving back...
..I'm still waiting for the decorating to be finished, the decorator must have forgotten how to decorate, he had a whole 2.5litres pot of red paint for ONE wall in my lounge and he's used it all somehow and it's patchy and badly painted, he's blaming the paint! Oh well another person to cross off the list of handy people to call in to do jobs 😕
My carpets are still waiting to be received by the fitters so I'm no further forward. Everytime I think I'm going home in a week or two I'm let down by some red tape or person working for my insurance company!
Oh well, must try and be positive, it should be nice in my flat when it's all over. Unfortunately when I get the unlabelled boxes back (not by my choice I'd have labelled them with room and general contents)
I've got to sort through each one and unpack into what little furniture I actually have left before my new furniture comes. Then take my too small clothes to be gotten rid of to the charity shop, and de clutter at the same time.

I'm hoping the Christmas cards I made last year to use this year are not affected by the flood. They were in a clip fastened box but I have a horrible feeling they were taken out the sealed plastic box and put in a cardboard box to be stored 😡
Fingers xd it'll be ok and I'll be back home crafting very soon. Xx

Take good care, and thank you for all your hard work and creativity xx

Best wishes from katie-Louise sweetlove xx
