Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello crafters!  I absolutely love this card.  There is just something about it that sings to me!  I wanted to share it with you today so I have decided to put it up on offer as the card in this week's giveaway.  I started by stamping a piece of coconut white card with the flower from the Justrite stamp set called Stitched flower.  I used clear Perfect Medium and heat embossed it with True White detail powder.  Using the Decorative Frames set B from the California Collection, I cut an aperture in the centre of the card.  I added mounting foam to the background and added it to another piece of white card.  I recessed the die cut from the aperture and glued it into place.  I stamped the tag from the Baking Labels set and heat embossed it with white powder as well.  I cut it out with the matching Vintage tag and used Shaded Lilac Distress ink to highlight it.  I stamped my sentiment from the Bold Sentiment set and cut it out with the Set A from the California Collection.  I inked it with Shaded Lilac as well.  I mounted the pieces up in the centre of the aperture, then started work on the floral embellishment.  I used a piece of the purple felt from the Vintage felt pack and cut out the Filigree Ribbon and glued it in place across the card.  I made a rolled felt flower and added it to the side on top of some white tulle.  I cut a faux quilled leaf and cut it into pieces and used them around the flower.  I finished the flower with a pearl in the centre and a couple of matching stick pins that I made from my crafty stash.  Double white pierced mats finished the card nicely.  The finished dimensions are  7 3/4" x 8 1/4" in size. Leave me a comment if you would like to be in the drawing  for this one!  I will post the winner on Saturday's post.   All for now, Sue x

morning Sue
Today's gift is such a beautiful and simple looking one and will certainly be going into my 'less is more' file. The colour scheme so delicate and I can see many occasions it would fit into.
My awaited die arrived here in Burgundy yesterday from Joanna Sheen and guess what is was 'Calabria'. Having watched your video yesterday morning thinking 'I would love to have a play' it appeared in my post box. So I got to play a little and hopefully more today after I try and find a nice techy person who might be able to repair my Tablet which died on me last night (oh for the days of pencil and paper - I sometimes wish they were still here at least when my pencil nib broke all I had to do was grab a knife or sharpener and with a few twists everything back to working order). The die is so much better in real life Sue. It's stunning and so easy to work with. Hope you're having a good time and have met with Mom's breakfast friends. Take care and see you tomorrow.

Hi Sue,
This card has more than the WOW factor. It's the stamps, dies, felt and of course, the pins. Like you, I want to put them on all my cards. Love it.

Now just you take it easy, though knowing you, you will be busy making cards in your Mom's kitchen.

Anne, we will be 'Up in your neck of the woods' later in the year. We spend 5 weeks touring Scotland Sept/Oct in our motorhome and on our way down from Duness, stop over at either Poolewe or ' The Sands' at Gairloch.

Super card, Sue, just love the 'embellishment' and felt ribbon. You've inspired me to try lots of new things, one of which is trying similar embossed backgrounds to this one - and lost my big wuss fear of stamps into the bargain!!

Hi to yorkielass! Do hope some improvement for your lovely Dad, Tina. So sorry to hear of your loss, Judy, and also AnneRD. Tandy, hope all your spirits were lifted by the holiday.

Morning Sue. Hope you are having a great time with your family and getting some well earned rest before you start on your cards with your new dies. The card is stunning. I know what you mean when you say it ticks all the boxes. The white on white with the flowers is lovely and using felt for the boarder and flower just finishes it off beautifully but what does it for me is your hat pins. Can you not get creative expressions to do a selection of beads so us crafters could replicate your beautiful hat pins. Keeping my fingers crossed that it may happen. Thanks.
Best Wishes.

Hi Sue,
B E A U T I F U L. Just beautiful, everything about it. I really must craft with apertures and setting the focal point inside them, it is so effective.
Patricia, from what I can remember, it is a strip of felt folded over, the ends glued together and then cut into which gives you the "petals". Then it is rolled as normal. I'm sure Sue will correct me if I'm wrong.

My condolences to Judy, it is so hard. Hugs to all who need them.

Sue, hope you're having a ball.

Hello Sue - back again after many days away. Firstly many congratulations on your week-end programmes - been waiting for you to present your gorgeous dies. Hubby managed to record some of them (that's more than expected! lol) so will enjoy them soon. I'm sure you had lots of sell outs and that it was a great success. Just looking at the last couple of posts it seems I've missed more than your fab samples. So sorry that there seems to have been some unhappinesss on your blog. I've been a follower from the very beginning and of course in those days there were not the huge number of comments that there are now. Times change and so has your blog - it's to be expected I guess with all the social media networks around (not me though - do not do. Can't tell you how much distress FB has been to a dear member of my family). However, the reason that most folk (including myself) visit your blog is firstly to see and be inspired by your amazing designs and secondly to be cheered up! So although going through my own private hell at the moment I am not going to dwell on that but leave you with a funny story that happened when I got back on Monday. Over the week-end two lovely chaps built my polytunnel on my allotment (only waited 30 years since having one when my children were small) and went up there to view and plan. Got caught in a huge storm - thunder, lightening the works and took shelter in my lovely tunnel. Did a little victory dance to celebrate - well quite a big one really - and then when the storm was passing put my nose out and realised that I had been spotted by another gardening sitting in his car facing my plot. He must have thought that I was either fighting off a wasp, completely flipped or heaven forbid doing a rain dance that had caused the downpour in the first place. Must remember that you can see through the plastic! Hope you are having better weather with your Mum, have a lovely time Sue - you work so hard. If I go AWOL again you will know why - sadly no internet there. Hope to be back for a few days at least. Love to all the Wilsonettes. X

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Another gorgeous card and topped of lovely with the felt filigree border. It's amazing how you have managed to get the border cut in the felt with it being so detailed and colour is stunning. I see you have made the pins to match the felt, which it does brilliantly. I ordered up the whimiscal flowers stamp set when i seen your card that had them coming out of the different apertures as i just loved that card. Thank you Sue for your continuing inspiration that you give so freely to us as it does inspire us to try other things.
Cameeli, what a great idea in the wish tree for the young couple and so different. I think that the bride should have been hijacked into helping along time ago. There is not a feeling like it when you put your own personal touch on your wedding to make it that bit different from any other. My mum did so much for mine and made me a long mohair cape/coat with a hood and leg of mutton sleeves to give enough room for the puff of my wedding dress sleeves. I made Swiss lace hooded capes for the flower girls to match their dresses( i got married in the January with the snow/slush on the ground) and so many people commented on them. I might not have had a Ritz wedding, but i had a truely fantastic comedy of errors wedding.
I see we have a lot of new names on our blog..A BIG WELCOME TO YOU ALL. You have joined what is no less than the greatest blog family ever. We have without a shadow of a doubt the very best and talented crafter in Sue, but also the kindest and loveliest inspirational crafter that we are so lucky to call our friend.
AnneRD and Judy M, if we had only known dear ladies what you were going through we could have banded together to give you both the support and ears that you needed at such a trying time for you both. The best thing about this blog as apposed to any other on the planet is we really care about each other and although we can't physically be there to give you a cuddle just when you need it, we are always open to listen and send up wee prayers and cyber hugs. I hope that we can be here for you now when you need us over this particularly hard year, as we do care for each other greatly.
Tandy flower, i hope that you got a great Scottish welcome when you were up in our beautiful country. We certainly were able to give you fantastic weather last 2weeks, but i hope we made you feel welcome as well. You are bound to have come across another Scottish dumpling like me who will give anyone a hello, good morning and a smile.
O o o my special(cos i don't have any real ones) niece that just got engaged has asked me if i can do her invites and wedding bits and bobs for her. Oh i'm so excited that she has asked me that it could be thunder and lightening and it wouldn't take the happy stupid smile off my face. And it won't have motorbikes, wheelbarrrows or any other hobby making them up. Her other half has said when asked when he is thinking on getting married(bear in mind it has taken him 9 years to get this far) "Oh, Fi hasn't told me yet", so she is looking at next summer. I need to get some prototypes made up for her so that she can let me know just what she is looking at as i don't think she has went down that road yet. Oh i'm fit to burst today with excitement.
Well it's a bit misty on my hills today, but i hope that it lifts with the brighter skies trying to show their faces. Take care everyone from the Costa de Glenochil, i wish you a great day,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue and Wilsonettes. Hope you are starting to feel 'more human' Sue and settling back into your Floridan way of life. Cold and dull in Bolton, so a prisoner today : ( never mind, that means a craft day when my body and hands feel 'up to it' but for how long is out of my hands !
What a pretty fresh card today, it will be a very happy Wilsonette that gets to love and stroke this giveaway, good luck all.
I feel I NEED the new Jusrite stamp as its so pretty and summery, just nice to use for the up and coming summertime markets, hope we get the warm weather to go with the warm summery looking stamp !
I too would love to have a peek at butterfly world Cam if possible ?
Its so nice to see the numbers rising here again, to all newbies please stay and join a very happy Wilsonette family.
Does anyone know the actual day og Sue's mom's birthday ? Was thinking it would be lovely for mom to see 150+ 'Happy Birthday's' what do you all think - agree ??
Just want to send gentle caring cuddles to all that need them today, they cost nowt so take all you want : )

Wonderful card Sue.
I missed your programmes on tv but I have lots of recorded programmes to look back on. I've also started a file where I keep all the 'must try this technique' cards. Some I have printed off - (hope that's ok by you) and then I can take a sheet and the necessary bits and bobs and make a card when I have time. Being retired time is one thing I have lots of!!! I don't think. When did I ever find time to go to work.

Hi Sue and all crafty Wilsonettes!
Today's card is gorgeous! I love it, love it love it! I adore the colours used and into the bargain have all the bits to make it! Will definitely try to do so later on.
The felt flowers are so tactile and I saw a demo of them too - strip of felt folded in half and glued together down the edge. Then snip into the folded edge all the way along , then using as little glue as possible - Sue 's tip - roll the flower up. If its base is too thick - trim it . If I can do this anyone can ! Hope this helps a little.
Cameeli butterfly ideas are so lovely! Like the idea of a good wishes tree!
Pam you get us off to a good start each day! Still thinking of you.
Tina trust your Dad is a little bit better.
Have a good day everyone!
Sue, hope you are recovering from a busy weekend and a long haul flight. Love x
Love to all, Myra

Hi Sue What a Truly Awesome Card, I must say when I first saw these Stamps from JustRite sadly I wasn't taken with them, But then they got the Sue Wilson touch and seeing what you have achieved with them, I've now completely changed my mind and I wish to purchase them.
I Love how you've created your Background using The Flower and Heat Embossing in White it is so effective, then cutting out the aperture which I just love when your looking into a recess. Fabulous Tag from The Baking Labels Set so pretty and the close up shots showing how you have white embossed this also are just excellent, then adding a touch of Shaded Distress Ink from Sir Tim just highlighting the edges this colour is so pretty, then using a sentiment from your Fantastic Bold Collection, Your Embellishments are another Beautiful Part of your Cards I truly Love how you have used your Beautiful Felt Pack cut The Filigree Ribbon and your Flower and those Stunning Faux Quilled Leaves your Awesome Pins this Is Overhaul Absolutely and Truly a Exceptional Card like always.
Thanks for sharing and for Fantastic Close Up Shots.
