Thanks

Good morning crafters!  I thought I would share one of the cards made with the Spanish Collection today.  This is the Cordoba die set and it is unique in that it has an outer cutting die that leaves a pretty aperture that you can use.  I have cut the die out of coconut white card here and have added mounting foam to the aperture to raise it for dimension.  I love the way the open dots from the aperture really draw the eye in to the centre of the card.  I used the inside of the die cut and recessed it down on to peach card.  I cut the centre oval out of peach and added it to the centre of the card.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with the tag from the Spanish Collection and lightly inked it with Tattered Rose before removing it.  I mounted it in the centre with foam for dimension.  I used the Faux Quilled Blooms and cut several flowers out of peach card ad layered them up.  I seated the largest flower on a messy bow tied from white seam binding with which I decided to try an experiment  by cutting the loops in half.  It gives the overall finished bow a shabby chic appearance.  The remaining few flowers were scattered in the opposite corner.  I made a couple of pretty stick pins and added them to my bow.  The card was finished with a double white pierced mat with a thin peach mat in between.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 9" in size.  I hope you like it!

Thank you for all the wonderful hearfelt messages left for me yesterday!  It was a perfect weekend between the die shows being received so very well and the great big crafty hug I felt coming from everyone on the blog, thank you!  All for now, Sue x

Sue, WOW yet another masterpiece! I was in Devon at the weekend so gutted not at home to watch you on C&C. However, I quickly rang my son to ask him to set up recording the shows, so now you now what I will be doing today...whoop whoop!
I first met you at a show when you were promoting a range of stamps based on the older generation..I still have these and the various funny quotes that went with them. You said to me that you were new and really hoped people would like what you do..well that was many years ago and now and believe me we DO like what you do so keep doing it. Safe journey home, treasure your Mom (I am sure you do), and we will wait with baited breath for your return. xx PS This is my first blog EVER xx

morning Sue
I really really need this die - it's so beautiful as you say either as the only die on a gift or with other dies playing a supporting role.
Today's gift is definitely the star of the show and the colouring just perfect.
Many Many congratulations on this week-end Sue - I just knew you would have all those sell outs and deservedly so as your dies are absolutely superb. One of the things I couldn't get my head round was just how big they actually are which of course makes them more than good value. They also eject the cut die so easily too which is always a bonus for us ladies who have little problems with hands and fingers etc.
Once again Sue many congratulations; many many thanks for all the inspiration you give/share with us every day. Our days are certainly made happier and adventuresome with you in them.
Take care on your journey to Mom; have a really good rest but come back very soon as we need you.
See you tomorrow.

Spanish Sunshine in a card! What will you think of next ? I always feel as though I'm solar powered ( when the sun is out it makes me feel energised) so this is a wonderful start to the day for me! Love the dies you have used here and especially the tag die in the centre ( think I'll have to order that one when pennies allow ) I did order the Valencia as I have the floral cartouche ( as you showed a sample of it, so must be a good choice ) and the first dies I ordered from your collection , the flowers ,the leaves and the heart striplet have certainly been a great buy, and so popular!
Congratulations to all the card winners ! I didn't manage to send in an email as I didn't manage to watch the shows live, still have the one with Leone to watch, so will enjoy that later, my daughter, son- in law and grandchildren head back to Edinburgh today and my husband and I have to go Inverness so maybe I'll get to view it in perfect peace tonight lol! Have a restful flight and wish your mum a great big Happy Birthday , enjoy!
Hugs to all, Norah I miss hearing how you and your hills are please let us know if you are ok, you do make me smile with your stories xo

Whoo! Whoo! I've got all the ingredients ( except the pins lol) to try out this card. The Cordoba die set were the second set of dies I bought ( Valencia was the first) and it's even prettier in real life. The tag from the Spanish collection is my favourite tag ever and it goes with every die I have. I'm not surprised your shows had sell outs I'm so pleased for you. Unfortunately I didn't get to see them but hopefully my recorder has worked so will watch them when I get home. I know you will have got some comfort from the response you received yesterday. Have a safe journey to see your Mom and wish her a very happy birthday from us. I'm already looking forward to your return .......... And your new dies lol.

Hi Sue,
WOW, this has to be one of my many favourites! It is divine, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the colours, the die and embellishments and could kick myself not having got Cordoba when I could. But I understand that Icon UK is going to get all your dies back in again tomorrow (so the announcement read), so I shall be there for definite as soon as they're available!
This is just one of your dies which cannot be had for love nor money anywhere on the internet (at least I've not found any), but it won't be for long.
Thank you for pointing out the obvious - if one has a rectangle one can also create a square. Tried that yesterday, very successfully.
Safe journey and my regards to your mom. Have a brilliant time and soak up the sun.
Hugs, Rose

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
What a beautiful card Sue and to have made the stick pins to match just finishes it off. The colour of the peach and white together is a lovely cosy, warm combination.
Folks, i haven't been on because i felt that i had been the cause of all the horribleness that went on the other day and if i had seen the 2 posts before i commented i wouldn't have. I wrote to Sue and explained because i didn't want her thinking i didn't care, when it was because i felt i had been the cause of her tranquility in her blog being ruined. I really felt i had real friends here, but i broke down into floods of tears every time i tried to come on. Thank you for missing me as i seriously didn't think that anyone would notice me not here and i did think it was for the best for Sue, her blog and you folk as i did not want you hurt even more than you had been, i hope you understand.
From my beautiful hills and me thank you. Take care everyone,

Morning Sue, I just love this die and the peach colour is so pretty. It sometime gets over looked in favour of pink, but this is just a delight. By NW you will be winging your way to your Mom's. Please wish her a Very Happy Birthday and have a well deserved break - not too much work.

Beautiful, simply beautiful. So much detail in this die as in so many of your collections. They all offer something we can't get anywhere else. Still have my little stash of videos to watch as have been busy prepping for classes I'm teaching this week. Will treat myself to one later today.
Donna - watch Sue's videos as several of them show her signature pierced edge. Click on the link on the right hand side or search for Creative Expressions on YouTube. I think there's a tutorial at the top of her blog too.
Enjoy the last bit of the long weekend. The sun is finally out here in Suffolk!

Morning Sue and all. Happy Easter Monday to everyone.

This is a stunning card Sue and I wish I had my new California dies from weekend as I am struggling to make a pearl wedding card for my Brother and Sister In Law and now on 3rd version.

Sorry I am so behind with posting for various reasons and saw your comments after yesterdays card. I don't what came before but I know that you are a kind and gracious lady with an extremely big heart, and nothing you have done would cause people to stop posting. Sometimes it is hard to post for a variety of reasons, and therefore some only drop in now and again. For others it may be a lifeline to the people they call friends. When I have time I love to read what is going on in others lives, especially about Norah's hills. Turns out I don't stay very far from there in Scotland but had to ask someone where they actually were. LOL They say you learn something new everyday

Thank you for your consideration to us Sue. Safe journey and love to your Mom.

good morning Sue, I have just been catching up with your cards over the last few days as I have been away and didn't see them or your shows unfortunately but at least with the wonders of modern technology I can watch them on Craft extra. I'm not surprised that everyone was a winner - we knew that from the start!! and I know I'm not alone in waiting for the next release. All the cards I missed are so varied and today's is so sunny. Thank you for all you do to bring us inspiration and words of wisdom. I would miss your blog if it closed. Having noted the some of the comments over the past few days perhaps a forum would be a good place for folk to communicate. I only read those from a few names I have got to know otherwise with so many followers I would never get anything done!! Have a super time with your mum and I hope she has a wonderful birthday, love from Jackie D

Hi Sue.
I stupidly posted this comment on yesterday's blog by mistake - that's what comes of crafting until the early hours!! So here it is again...
I've been looking at your blog every day for some time now - indeed it's the first thing I do each morning - but I haven't commented until recently because I (stupidly again) couldn't work out how to do it!!
You never fail to inspire me with your wonderful skills and your caring, sharing approach to card making. Thanks so much for this.
I can't promise to comment every day but you can be assured that I will be looking at your beautiful cards and learning new techniques from your instructions and fantastic videos.
Hope you have had a lovely Easter and have a great time with your mum in Florida.

Hi Sue,
A lovely design again, I imagine it working well in any colour way too. The larger piercing around the aperture is so effective, I know how much you love a pierced edge! And the flowers are so delicate, they add a subtle lacy touch which is so chic and feminine. Looking forward to the next instalment.

Sue another wonderful, wonderful card. Could I ask a question please, I notice that you use quite a lot of pearls around the outside of your cards especially when layering (it is a good marker as well), I was wondering if you made them yourself if so what do you use, perfect pearls? or something like that or are they ones that you can buy and are stuck on (I don't think they are though). Every day I so look forward to seeing your cards and could watch you for hours making them. Thank you again so much for sharing them with us all. Much love June xxx

June I've just read your comment on Sue's pearls around her cards, she uses Cosmic Shimmer coloured glues, normally the pearl one, just drop it on to the card with out touching it with the nib of the glue, then wait for it to dry, practice it on a spare piece of card to make sure you can get the dots the size you want them xx
