Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Morning all!  Think lilac, gold and white for today's card because try as I might, I couldn't get the card to really show the true colour very well.  It is one of my favourites from the past weekend's shows though, so first up on offer for the weekly giveaway.  I started by embossing vellum with my new Art Deco Fanfare embossing folder.  Although the pattern actually goes the other way, I ended up using it in this direction, which gives it a completely different look.  I glued it atop a piece of soft gold card for my outer background and added flatback pearls to the corners.  Next I stamped the Floral Lace background by Justrite using a clear Perfect Medium pad on to lilac card.  I heat embossed with with Gold Detail Powder.  I covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet and coated it with (my much loved) Iced Snow.  I matted it with a thin soft gold mat and added it to the background with mounting foam.  I stamped the label from The Baking Label stamp set by Justrite on coconut white card and heat embossed it with gold as well.  I cut it out with the matching vintage tag die and before removing it, I inked it with Shaded Lilac distress ink.  I stamped my sentiment (from the Stitched Flower set) and cut it out with a small die in the Vintage Labels Seven die set.  I inked through the die with Shaded Lilac again.  I used the new Tranquil Moments die set and cut it out of coconut white card and layered my sentiment and tag on it with foam and added it to the centre of the card.  Using the Classic Rose die, I made a flower out of coconut white card, inked it lightly with Shaded Lilac, then sugared it with Iced snow.  I cut some Faux Quilled Leaves out of soft gold and cut them apart and added them around my flower with I seated upon some gold tulle on the card.  I made matching stick pins to finish the embellishment.  A double white mat with Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots were added completed the entire card.  It's a stunner in real life, shame my pics aren't able to do it justice!

If you would like to be included in the drawing to win this one, just leave me a comment.  I usually post the winners name on Saturday's post, but I will be away at Ally Pally all weekend, so both the card winner and the Comment Game winners will be posted on Monday's blog post this week.

I have been getting a few emails asking how to leave comments, so I have put up an explanation on the right side of the blog!
The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue,

Elegant and stunning card Sue, love it. Thank you.

I've been so busy these last couple of days that I haven't had time to thank all you ladies for the good wishes on my birthday last Sunday. I was going to name you all but there were too many, so you know who you are and thank you sooooooo much.

Well Sue, I couldn't believe my ears when you wished me happy birthday on the tele. I watched your show late on Sunday night and it rounded a really lovely day off - so once again thank you very much. Everyone is so kind and makes you feel special.

Much love,

Carol W - you can use either station. In my opinion it's not walkable unless you are used to long walks. I'd use Wood Green tube as I always found the trains less frequent from Ally Pally station. Mind you, I am talking from the point of a few years ago when I lived around that area. Might be different now - p'raps someone else can help.

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Another stunning card Sue that you have brought us today. Everything is so beautiful about it, the colours look so right with each other and with the vellum giving it that delicate touch to it. Hope you have a great time at A.P. this weekend Sue and that you get to meet a lot of our very special friends from here. It will be nice for you finally to meet some of us that you read each day, although where you get the time to read our comments i really don't know. Have you managed to find away of getting 30 hours into a 24 hour day? Have a great time everyone that is going, but really sorry that Lynne you are not going to make it because of your neuralgia flaring up as it is a very painful annoyance that you can well do without. I have my fingers crossed that it will subside sooner rather than later for you.
Cameeli, so glad to read that everything went well yesterday for your partner and that with some time and tlc she is going to come through stronger.
Shirley, everyone on this blog and you started it off is special and a family that we are honoured to be a part of, so i am glad that your birthday was a good one and that small touch that we could do made it special for you. I know that the special people on this blog make everyday a better day for me and a lot of others. Reading that someone is thinking of you when you are feeling at your lowest, i find such a special thing and one that i truly appreciate, but as i said, that is because this blog is filled to the brim with the loveliest people on earth.
Hubby left my washing out last night because according to him it was going to be sunny! Well it's now even wetter than it came out the washing machine, and it was almost dry last night. MEN. Always know everything. The weather forecast that i seen said it was going to be showery in the West but since it was coming across us on their map, i wouldn't leave it out. Well it can stay there as i haven't the energy nor the strength to get the arms up to take it off the line or lift the basket in. See you all tomorrow hopefully,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

WOW!! this is absolutely stunning, Sue.

I didn't get the fanfare EF on Saturday much as I'd have liked to...but I have made my version of one of your Saturday samples with my new purchases, using the letterpress technique with the quilted flower EF covered with iced snow and one of your delicious crystal sparklers.

Hello to Delia :) Maybe I'll see you when you visit Colemans again.

Hi Sue,
Hi Everyone,
What a beautiful card Sue. I know they are all lovely but I have really fallen for this one! Again it's lovely to see lilac with gold! I've always put it with silver! It looks so rich.
My cascading feathers stamp came yesterday! It's beautiful. I purchased it on its own as I didn't want the set.

Shirley so pleased you had a lovely birthday ! I think we were all chuffed when Sue wished you a Happy Birthday!
Alimecca can sympathise with the migraine - like your name " spaced out" for the day after. I say - I'm better - just not all here yet" . Get well sonn.
Lynne so sorry about the neuralgia ! That is an awful pain according to the medics! So sorry you missing Ally Pally but just keep warm and get well soon.
Looking forward to hearing about all the Weddings!
Love Myra.

Hi Clare W and for anyone who needs to get to Ally Pally by public transport see below!!
I will be ther all being well at 10 am.

By Tube

Wood Green is the nearest underground station on the Piccadilly Line. (journey time is 20 minutes from Piccadilly Circus). Exit Wood Green Station and go to bus stop A to pick up the W3 bus up the hill to Alexandra Palace.

By Rail

Alexandra Palace has its own British Rail Station, fittingly called Alexandra Palace Station. It is located at the Wood Green entrance to the Park. A regular train service runs direct from Moorgate (weekdays only) or from Kings Cross, changing at Finsbury Park.

By Bus

Take the W3 bus or shuttle from outside the station to the main Palm Court entrance. Some shows offer a free shuttle bus service from both Wood Green and Alexandra Palace stations check on the page of your event to find out more.
Hope that helps

Cameeli xx

Hi Sue. WOW, WOW, WOW !!! Sue this card is absolutely gorgeous !! I really love everything about it !! I have never tried lilac, white and gold card together, but I will now !! It looks great with the gold embossing powder too. I really love that new background stamp from Justrite and I have added it to my big long wish list. I have really taken a shine to the new vintage tag dies to. Your Art Deco folder looks fab, especially with the Vellum. ( I really must use Vellum more often with my cards.) I think it gives the card such a lovely delicate feel to it. I love the sentiment and the stitched flower stamps are also on my wish list as I love their funky, fun, whimsical look and I love buttons to !! Your stick pins are fab and your rose, quilled leaves and gold tulle finish this card to perfection. I would Sooo love the chance to win this gorgeous card Sue.
I am sorry I could not comment yesterday but our internet connection went down for a whole day. I finally got to see your video from yesterday and as usual it is totally fab !! The card you made was fab to and now I need some more beautiful Sue Wilson dies !! They are such "must have" dies. I also loved your beautiful Squirrel card to and I loved the scribble, dribble glue technique. I saw you demo it on c+c with Dean and it looks like a lot of fun. I will have to try it when my teenage step daughter comes to visit. We always have a good laugh when we attempt new crafty techniques together !!
Well I only missed one day but such a lot has happened on this blog !!
Cameeli, I am so glad your partners minor op went ok. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you both and wish you both lots of love. X x x
Steph, So sorry to hear you are in pain. I hope you feel better soon. Sending you lots of love. X x x
Lynne Mills, so sorry you are unwell to and I am sorry you will miss Alley Palley. X x x

Norah, I know exactly how you feel. I read your comment from yesterday and I to suffer from insomnia which is quite unbelievable considering the nature of this illness.( M. E .) I have had some sort of throat infection for the last two days and it really made my
