Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello bloggers!  This is just a whirlwind of a week for me!  I can tick off Ally Pally and the Wedding shows from my list, but I still need to do my drawing for the blog candy as we have just hit our target of 4900 followers (I will post it later on today!).  I have also been asked to do my dies on Create and Craft on the weekend.   A few months ago I said on the blog that we wouldn't be bringing my die line to C & C and that was because they were requiring a period of exclusivity.  They are no longer requiring that so I am happy to show off the dies as I have had many requests to see them on the tv.  A bit more prep for those shows and I will be ready to go.  Please note that they have amended the schedule for those shows and I have added the changes to the right hand side of my blog for you.  After that I leave to see my Mom again, just in time for her 91st birthday!  Busy week ahead!  Today, however, is a giveaway day and I decided to go with this card as I had several emails wanting to see it after the show a week ago.  It showcases the Cascading Fern background from Justrite Stamps.  I stamped it using a clear Perfect Medium pad on to lilac card.  I heat embossed it with white detail powder.  Using my new Art Deco embossing folder, I embossed the pattern into the card for more texture.  I cut the background into three equal strips and matted them with a thin white mat.  I mounted them with foam on to a larger white background. I tied a piece of Mauve seam binding around the card and taped the ends to the back.  Using my Classic Rose die set, I made a flower out of coconut white card.  I inked it with Shaded Lilac distress ink lightly around the edges of the petals then "sugared" it with Ice Snow.  I seated the flower on a messy bow tied from Mauve seam binding and white tulle.  I added a few leaves to it and made some matching stick pins.  I stamped a sentiment from the Bold Sentiment set and cut it into a strip and cut the ends into a flag.  I tucked the end under my flower.  I added a Lilac card mat before adding my double white pierced mats to complete the card.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 7 3/4" in size.  If you would like to be included in the drawing to win this one, just leave me a comment.  I will announce the winner on Saturday's post.  I have included a few pictures of some of our blog family that I met up with at Ally Pally last weekend below.

Jean Phillips and myself.  Jean has been on the blog from the early days!
Clare W (with her white bow) and Elaine Lewis with me here.
Tres and myself!  Tres made a gorgeous flower and wore it on her lapel!

There were lots more pics taken during the day, but not on my camera!  It was a fab weekend!
All for now, Sue x

A beautiful gift today bringing good news the best being that you have reach your target for your blog. Fantastic and second that you have two days on C&C this weekend. I wouldn't take any bets on what is going to sell out first!!!! I'm sure it's going to be a case of if you haven't ordered it by 12.00 noon Saturday then it's not going to be there. I hope you have your manufacturers working overtime Sue as I've a feeling that you're going to need all your little elves to help you.
To all who are not well take care of yourselves. It's lovely to see some of the photos from last week-end.
See you tomorrow.

Congrats to the winner of the candy, she will be as delighted, as I was! Congrats to getting to 4900 too - nearly at the 5000. I'm pleased C&C relented on the exclusivity - a bit daft when we can already get them (my striplet arrived yesterday) Love today's card, who would have thought a fern stamp and a fan embossing folder would look so good together. Amazing - beautiful card.

Morning Sue. Morning Wilsonettes. Firstly - CONGRATS on reaching your new target Sue, still need to get you on top spit (where you belong) its SO nice to put faces to names, hi to those familiar names we now can see who belongs to them. I thought Id heard wrong on the show when you announced you were show casing your dies, either that or Norah's brain had come to Lancs for its holiday (vacation) chock (chalk) : ) lol but Im glad for those members of C&C that will benefit financially and be able to spend spend spend on flexi, a member I am not. So I cant wait to see your outstanding demo's again, thanks Sue.
And if anyone deserves to have a long LONG rest its YOU so have a wonderful time with your mom and family when you get to a very warm Florida xx
Im just thrilled I will still be at home and not on the ward this weekend so I can put my feet up and enjoy (dreading the call to say "come to ward 2) as I wont be able to log into our family home until I get back home : (

When I saw this card being shown it really stood out, the beautiful stamp and those soothing pretty colours just jumped out at me, so Im thrilled you have given us all the chance to stroke it and cherish it likeit deserves (hope it can come to the ward with me)
There are days when you just wish you could either erase or sleep through, and ALL of us know how that feels, I have an erase button day - I have a bit of a poorly tummy and have had it undiagnosed for many years until we moved up here and then it took me off my feet but was then diagnosed and treated thank goodness, but its doing something naughty again ( aint that just like my body) ?!! lol but im having an MRI scan at 10.30 which is fine, nothing to it, BUT im such a wimp when it comes to drinking medicated liquids and I fuss and squirm and gag lol so my tummy consultant is off my C Card list for requesting this scan ! And according to the paper work this nasty stuff 'turns you inside out' an hour or so after ..... Guess who's not going anywhere today ?! Ohhh dear it means a craft day and thank goodness that 1. I live in a bungalow and 2. My little craft room is near the bathroom !! (TMI) ?? Sorry.
Pam - you are incredible and we ALL love and care for you also.
This is the MOST incredible blog, and its all thanks to Sue for bringing it to us, and we are ALL so lucky to have each other. PAM here is my hug for you.
And plenty to go round if anyone needs one.
Have a lovely day everyone. Tina try and relax if you can.
Love you.
Lancashire Steph xx

GM Sue - a stunner of a card - cant wait to see your fab demos at the weekend with your new dies - I will be glued to the screen.

Whoohoo! I won one of the cards you demoed yday on C&C - just so folks know I did include my address on the original email and I re sent it so they did have my address - not sure why they said they didn't - but Sue kindly saved the day - thank you - I have been trying soooo long to win a Sue original and yday it happened - so Wilsonnettes keep trying and emailing in - I would have been gutted if I was put back in the cup of chance!

Re the foto - dont think I really look like this but...!! I hate all photos of myself though.

A chilly but sunny day here today so maybe some crafting later.

Best wishes to all Wilsonettes in need of them -

But we all started somewhere! Have loved the shows on C&C this week and meeting you on Saturday. Have set the magic box to record over the weekend. Hope you get presenters that don't keep talking over you like Nigel did yesterday - it got very irritating!

Beautiful card today Sue, thanks so much for sharing it with us, still hoping to win one if your wonders! I can't believe it's your mothers birthday again are you sure she doesn't have two a year, would explain her age and not looking it, fantastic news about C&C showing your dies, just hope the don't price them at a ridiculous amount! Sounds like you will continue to be busy when you get to Florida, your family are always so pleased to see you that you won't have a moments rest over there either, but please try we don't want you getting ill on us! It's lovely yo see some pictures from last weekend and to put some faces to our much loved names.
Pam hugs from me, Steph fingers crossed that call doesn't come till after the weekend, but you need to get some relief and I hope today isn't too bad for you, I suffer with IBS along with other problems and that is bad enough. Lynne I'm sure those fur babies will be on their best behaviour at the weekend for your husband, they are like that, but at least you get the enjoyment from their antics. Cameeli thanks for the info on how you get your energy,I do most of what you do but no swimming due to a crushed vertebrae. Well done Claire on getting drawn out of the cup, I'm going to try again this weekend, on the shoes when I'm not working ;-). Norah take care and so sorry you have been in so much pain, there is nothing worse. Tandy sending you a big hug too. Those darn mares are still not behaving, so another night has gone and still no foals, my fingers are getting sick as I go to sleep with them crossed every night, wake frequently to check for any in the throws of early labour, and the fingers are still crossed, I'm a big baby myself and love to have the foals and see them grow and their personalities evolve. Huge hugs to all that are in need today, and well done Sue for reaching your latest blog landmark xxxx

Hi Sue.
Well this is definitely a WOW card today Sue !! Just gorgeous. I managed to get your Art Deco embossing folder at Alley Palley on Saturday, and I have the lilac card. I do not have the cascading fern stamp but I have something similar so may have to try this one, it is beautiful. I really love your Rose and stick pins too !!
A big CONGRATULATIONS on reaching 4900 followers on your blog. What an achievement. Also I would like to say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your Mum to !! I saw the photos you posted of her on your blog last time and I really cannot believe she will be 91 !! She looks so much younger !!
I am sorry I have not posted for a couple of days but I knew I would be ill for a while after Alley Palley. I did just quickly look at your card each day though, I just can't miss any of them !! Yesterday's video was absolutely fab. Your card was amazing, I just have to get this die to now !! I have the silk polished glitters and they are fantastic. They are wonderfully silky smooth to the touch. If any one is considering getting some I would definitely recommend them. They are like nothing I have ever seen before.
I managed to watch your Wedding shows on C+C, lying on the sofa. I loved them both, such beautiful samples and demo's Sue. You never disappoint !!
I cannot wait to see you on tv at the weekend now. I love all your new dies and can't wait to see more cards made with them.
I am so pleased you have put the photo of me and you on your blog today. I look so big !! I am dieting long term and hopefully if I get to meet you next year I will look at least a little thinner !!! I have a long way to go.

To all the Wilsonettes, I am thinking of you all and hope you are all ok.
Pam, sending you a big hug today. X x x
Steph, I really hope the Hospital will help take away your pain. Wishing you all the best. X x x
Norah, I hope you are feeling ok today x x x

Really looking forward to your shows at the weekend and so pleased that you didn't give in to their exclusivity ( is that a word lol) as other places are so much cheaper than C&C even though I am a member and get the discount. However, hopefully they will have some on flexi pay which makes it easier for everyone to afford. Congrats on reaching 4900 followers although I'm not surprised! Can't believe it's your mom's 91 st birthday coming up , it only seems like yesterday since we were looking at her 90th birthday celebrations - give her a big hug from me. Steph,Norah , Tres hope you will be much better soon and that you are not in too much pain. Pam hope you are ok and to everyone else who is just under the weather or sad at hearts ending you love and hugs. Love Alison xxxx

The saga of the fur babies continues - as it is such a nice day today I thought it would be a good idea to sit on the hammock in the garden and get a bit of sun on me ( not too much as would look like a lobster - got red hair) poochies trotted out to see where I'd got to and then proceeded to chase each other. Great I thought they can keep each other busy while I have time to myself. As if that was going to occur. No sooner had they seen that I was settled on the hammock both of them came running jumped up onto the hammock , laid down either side of me and promptly went to sleep with me rocking the seat!!!. Lots of hugs to all x x x

Good afternoon Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
What a beautiful card Sue in beautiful colours. I love the soft shade of lilac that you have chosen and i need to put that background stamp on my need list as you keep coming up with different ways and reasons that i do need it for. PLEASE try and have a rest when you go out to Florida this weekend and not just the time it takes to fly there either, as you will make yourself ill just going at brake neck speed all the time and we care not about the cards which we do care about, but we care even more about you, so please rest for a wee while at least. I hope your lovely mum has a wonderful birthday with her family and her coffee shop family that look after her while you're not there. It must be very comforting to know that she is so much loved by her community and that they keep her company and busy while you're not there.
It is so nice to see you over the 4900 followers as they know expertise when they see it. It's only on coming in that you make the most amazing friends that anyone could wish for. It's so nice that a beautiful person has brought together the most beautiful of people in the one place(that'll be you lot)incase you didn't know.
Pam i wish you could actually feel the cuddle that i send but you are amazing and getting stronger with each passing day, one day at a time eh!
We have a birthday girl with us today...Lydia(Jordan) a very happy birthday Lydia and i hope that you have been spoiled, even if it is only someone else to make you a drink of tea or coffee.
Julie(Laz), what a difference it will make you having a different face to see and your husband getting a wee bit me time back to himself as it will make him better able to cope on a day to day basis. He is going to find it strange just trying to let someone else take the reins for a bit, but he will find it a big boon to him and you will not worry so much about him either. I hope that you get a new friend, one that you can have that much needed laugh and giggle with as well as the help that you need.
Steph, you are one brave lady. I have been for 4 MRI now and i am absolutely terrified from them. I hope they can find something to help you flower as you suffer so much pain. Fingers gently trying to cross them but they are being uncooperative at the moment,so bare with me on that one.
I have to agree it is so lovely to see in real life what the magical people on the blog looks like. Me, i can't download or is it upload a picture 1. because it would break the camera and 2. because i'm useless, 3. because i wouldn't fit in the picture. You know these scales that weigh you, well it comes up with one at a time when i go on it. Lord it's going to take me years to come down to a recognizable size that doesn't need a teepee as an outfit. I am dreading when i get dragged off to get clothes. Never mind, i think i could pretty up a Marquee no problem. Hee hee hee. i'm off until tomorrow. Take care my dear friends,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)
It is so lovely the now even if we do have white puffy clouds above. xx

Hi Sue, I adore your triptych cards and this one is no exception - so beautiful. I love nothing more than experimenting with my large stamps and seeing which ones suit this style of card. Congrats on 4900 followers - we love your work!
