Stained Glass Window

Hello my crafty friends!  Let's make a stained glass window card.  It is really easy and I will show you how in today's video segment.  It isn't too long either so I do hope you will enjoy it!

Buy from Joanna Sheen

Finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue,
I am truly privileged to be a member of your blog family, with beautiful people like Pam in it. Bless you, Pam, for your concern about others even in your very dark time. I really hope that the spirit of Easter will help you further towards no pain.
I had a ball last night, watching your show Sue, and the demo card was another stunner. Absolutely beautiful!
Hope that all the "children" are watching your videos on Tube rather than just on your blog- it is so much better there. This card is so beautiful and (seemingly) simple to do.
Looking forward to watching today's show.
Hugs, Rose

So much unpacking left to do from the house move but at least I found the boxes of crafty goodies yesterday. It's a great incentive to get everything put away because then I can craft again!
Fantastic show last night Sue, looking forward to today's.

Lovely card. The pop of lime green is really zingy and the bow looks fabulous. Enjoyed the show yesterday but wish we could have seen more of you and heard less of Dawn Bibby running through all the products. Does anyone else think that Sue didn't get much time to demo? Loved all your beautiful samples. You work so hard.

Today's gift is a definite 'one for my must do box'. It's absolutely beautiful and could be used for many occasions.
Your colour scheme today is so so pretty and I have visions of different coloured backgrounds.
It's a finishing off day for me today (cards made but needing their centres) and then having to find inspiration for a card for the more difficult gender in our lives - Men of course.
Take care and see you tomorrow.

Hi Sue,
Love the card & stained glass effect but the colours don't do it for me - sorry. However, I do see one of my favourite dies - the bow! I bought 2 of them when they were launched and haven't stopped making them! They look so fragile, but are really tough. Didn't watch the show last night as Freeview stopped at 6 am as usual - how disappointed was I, but I will try and watch it today. Cameeli, you must be shattered, I hope it was worth it! Steph hope you are ok, Lynne hope your head ok, Norah hope you are ok too, missed you yesterday.
Will have to go now as have to take my 89 year old aunt for her second chemo session bless her. Will watch video later. Love to all, Alison xxx

Morning all, love this card and it Showcases your dies so well, the bow is great I have it and like others I'm constantly making bows with it. Alison I hope all goes well for your wonderful aunt, Cameeli, I hope you managed to get all the flowers that you wanted ordered and while your at it send me some if your energy over it would be great fully received, Lynne, glad your furbabies are not behaving, life would be so boring if they did, my mother said today how she loves to watch my dog run around so purposely in a mornin while I am sorting out the horses! Norah, hope you are well missed you yesterday. Steph so sorry you are going to be admitted, but maybe hey can give you some relief to the pain so it will be worth it in the end. Tina the weathers looking good for your daughter, enjoy these last few days, and finally Pam you are a true inspiration you are going through so much and still have such lovely things to say to others to help them, oh yes and that pesky mare even though I. Ought her in still hasn't foaled, they are ganging up on me and I'm sure while she is in one of the other will drop a foal for me while I'm not expecting it, I saw yesterday the orders girl was being pummelled around her foal was doing some sort of movements inside and there were limbs being poked out for a good five mins poor girl xxx

Oh WOW Sue. Just managed to watch your stained glass tutorial, superb, sooo pretty. I must invest in those glitters although I find them hard to find in crsft stores, maybe I should check Joanna's shop. I only stopped off at my fav craft store in Leeds (just round the corner from my rheumatology hospital) for more glue but came out with a few TH distress ink pens, I was staring at this beautiful rainbow of colours pondering the best colours to invest in - what colours would Sue suggest, which will I use more of, so I just looked at my favourite pastel colour's and before I knew it they were rolling round my basket : 0 as I turned round I swept my stupid ugly stick straight through the middle of all the inks !!!!! If only I could have run, talk about flustered, I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me whole !!!
Maybe I wont think of hiding out there whilst Im in hospital for a few days ! Its almost within 'hobbling' distance and as we dont hang around in pj's on the ward I would like an 'normal' craftaholic shopping (apart from the drip stand) a dead giveaway dont you think : / ?
Anyway Im so in love with the stained glass I really WILL have to buy a couple of glitters.
Hope you manage a little.R&R today Sue.
Hugs to all.

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
I love your stain glass window cards as they are so different and could have a wider appeal by both men and women.
Sorry Sue and everyone, but i had a day and a half yesterday and worse today, but at least i am not being hospitalised like you poor Steph. Think of it more as extra crafting time and teach the rest of the patients a new and wonderful craft. I know my hospital bag always has the old faithful(knitting) packed first and foremost. Take care flower and do as they tell you and you will be out again soon and you can take your phone and still keep up with us on the blog.
Just been to the shops for mum, i think a washed oot cloot has more strength in it than i have now, just so sore and so tired. Need to get the washing hung out first and then i think 40 winks is calling me. I have recorded your shows Sue as i have junior on shcool holidays and her nibs just back from Egypt with a washing that would frighten the french. Thank goodness it is a beautiful day with the clouds just taking their time about going anywhere. Teeny from Troon(her nibs)only went and sold her Aunt for 2 handbags across there. Her cousin is 18 years older than her so has always been her uncle and his fiance(that's another that definitely needs a kick up the proverbial as they have been engaged for the past 21 years. Although my hubby has 10 nieces and nephews and alot came along after we were married, they call me by my first name which hurts. Stuart is the only one who calls me auntie. That is why i have my "special nieces", they are not really mine but they have always been very dear to me since the day they were born, they make me so very very lucky and that is who got engaged the day before Teeny from Troon, the eldest of "my" girls. This is going to be a very strange wedding as i have known her Fiance since he was 4, so i think i will sit in the aisle between both families, that's if he doesn't take another 9 years to get hitched. I will need to put something up in the Hatched, Matches and Dispatched column of the local paper for my wee lass(note to self to do).
CAMEELI....3am to the flower market? When does your son get married? You are a woman on a mission, flower. I know you live down in the City, and it can be a nightmare to get anywhere, but 3 in the morning! Please don't tire yourself out before the big day comes. At least we will have the doctors and nursing staff keeping a well trained eye on Steph to make sure she doesn't get up to too much.
Crafty SueToo:- I hope you will be very happy in your new home, with of course your craftroom. Who needs another bedroom or guest room, that's what the settee is for, isn't it? straggler guests?
Alison(Alimecca), your poor wee aunty, what a shame putting her through such harsh treatment that would take it out of any fit and healthy youngster, how i hope she will get back to full health soon.
I started typing just after 9 this morning but the brain and dyslexic fingers are just not cooperating for some reason these days. Now at the droopy stage so i will see you all tomorrow with luck,
Love and crafty hugs to all the special people that make this blog, i really don't know what i would do without any of you,
Norah(Glenochil)

Hello Sue. Thank you for this lovely card. I have seen you do this technique live (last year's Ally Pally I think it was) and it really amazes me how clever it looks when it's not too difficult at all. And,what a lovely bow. So neat and tidy - my favourite kind. xx Maggie (better with a paper bow)

Myra said...

Hi Sue,
Thanks for the reminder of this technique ! I had forgotten all about it , Howver I think it will look absolutely gorgeous with the Cosmic Shimmer glitters as they are so beautiful!
Love the colours you used - feel another spend coming on! Have been using the bows non- stop but have not combined the two! That"ll be another load of bows then!
Thoroughly enjoyed last night's show. I did send an email in! I know Dawn has her critics but she was the one who got me into papercrafting many many years ago - almost 20 years I think! I thank her for that.
Oh Norah, you are amazing! We have all been thinking about you and missing you. Do hope you feel much better soon x.
Steph, so sorry you having to go into hospital - was going to offer to visit you if it had been Bolton! However I visit from me might have made you worse instead of better! Take care - trust you come out feeling so much better! X
Kitty enjoy having your grandchild!
Cameeli I thought you'd got up to see the eclipse of the moon! It was supposed to turn red about 3 -4am!
Alison trust Auntie copes well with her chemo.
I think Sue needs two hour shows each time! It's not that I'm biased or anything!
Have a lovely day everyone , beautifully sunny here. Trust it is where you are.
Love Myra

Hi Sue, love this card as suitable for women/men. Managed to watch part of your show this morning and can't for Saturday. Lol lynne m x x x
Alimecca- love to your aunt.
Magpie, Lynda and Lindsay - on the way to just a dull ache now so things are looking up.
Steph - hope the hospital can help.
Norah - glad to see you back on the blog.

Poochies are being their normal madcap selves, hubby is definitely on shaky ground as all I get out of him in the evenings is " I don't know what your problem is , the dogs are fine for me" . Of course they are asleep in the evenings, thats because they're awake all day driving me loopy with their antics. Aaarrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh men!!!!!!!!! Lol me who has seriously lost the plot x x

Hi Sue, I'm so glad you have showcased this die, it is one of the first of yours that I bought. Great video and I love the card, the colours and simplicity of it suit me down to a T.
I enjoyed both your shows and have the recorder set for the week-end - a feast of Spellbinders in store for us.

Congratulations Claire W, I heard your e-mail being read out this morning.
Good Luck in hospital Steph, behave yourself and they may let you out again. :-)
Glad to see you back Norah and hope the sunshine on our hills brightens your day.

Great video again, Sue, thank you. Love the die and how you have done the stained glass window using acetate and wonder if it would work with just glitter. Will give it a go. And WOT, no sentiment??
Cameeli, now we know what you are on - (3 a.m. at Covent Garden) - perhaps Sue takes the same as you!!!
Steph and Norah - wishing you better days and Alison's aunt too.

Loved the show last night with Dawn. She always makes an effort to show all the samples and explain the way you made them.
The cards were gorgeous and I must invest in those ink pads as they are such lovely pastel shades.

Hi Sue
I'm late posting today, it would have been my friends wedding anniversary today but sadly she has just lost her husband and needed some TLC because it is one of the 'firsts' without him. Some of us on this blog know what she's going through so know how much support you need at times like these.
Sue, today's card brought back a blast from the past when I used to do the stained glass tecnique using peel offs, your way is the updated version. I am disappointed that I've missed your show today because my recorder didn't record but looking forward to your weekend shows.
Steph hopefully after your few days in hospital you will feel better and not in so much pain. Norah sorry to hear your not well sending you both a hug.
Hugs x
