Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello crafters!  I absolutely love this card.  There is just something about it that sings to me!  I wanted to share it with you today so I have decided to put it up on offer as the card in this week's giveaway.  I started by stamping a piece of coconut white card with the flower from the Justrite stamp set called Stitched flower.  I used clear Perfect Medium and heat embossed it with True White detail powder.  Using the Decorative Frames set B from the California Collection, I cut an aperture in the centre of the card.  I added mounting foam to the background and added it to another piece of white card.  I recessed the die cut from the aperture and glued it into place.  I stamped the tag from the Baking Labels set and heat embossed it with white powder as well.  I cut it out with the matching Vintage tag and used Shaded Lilac Distress ink to highlight it.  I stamped my sentiment from the Bold Sentiment set and cut it out with the Set A from the California Collection.  I inked it with Shaded Lilac as well.  I mounted the pieces up in the centre of the aperture, then started work on the floral embellishment.  I used a piece of the purple felt from the Vintage felt pack and cut out the Filigree Ribbon and glued it in place across the card.  I made a rolled felt flower and added it to the side on top of some white tulle.  I cut a faux quilled leaf and cut it into pieces and used them around the flower.  I finished the flower with a pearl in the centre and a couple of matching stick pins that I made from my crafty stash.  Double white pierced mats finished the card nicely.  The finished dimensions are  7 3/4" x 8 1/4" in size. Leave me a comment if you would like to be in the drawing  for this one!  I will post the winner on Saturday's post.   All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue and Everybody,

Brilliant card in every detail, thank you for sharing it with us.
Spent a lovely Easter Monday with the Spanish background and Granada, the dies I went for at the original launch; now waiting for Spanish Set2. (I wish I could retire and spend much more time crafting!)
My thoughts are with Tina in particular. I so hope that your Dad is rallying round and that he will soon be his 'old self'
Love to you all, Lis xx

Hi Sue,
Such an elegant colour combo, I love purple shades and the white on white stamping looks so delicate and pristine. I've been using the vintage coloured felt on my cards too, it gives them such depth and texture, and it die cuts beautifully. It makes a card stand out and look luxurious, which is bound to make the recipient feel special.

Hello Steph and to all Wilsonetts - I am almost sure it's Sues mother's birthday on 27 April. We could start off our comments with the Happy birthday Sues mom, would it be too familiar to say Jill? I can't remember the surname but I am sure someone in blog land will have remembered it!

Hope everyone is having a good day, Best wishes Brenda

As others have said, Sue's Mom's birthday is on the 27th. You may like to look at the post for April 29th last year as Sue shared some great photos of the party day.
Just had a look again and it was a joyous and very special time. Wish my Mum was still here, she would have loved today's card.

Hi Sue and all your followers. I love this card, the amount of variety you have put into the aperture has given it so much depth and interest. I would never have thought of using felt. I must dig out all those shrunken jumpers and do something with them! I've become a stick pin junkie, I recently made 8 pairs from bits and pieces from my bead stash. I have ordered the leaves and eagerly await them dropping through the mail. Fabulous card. I'm saving up for more of the dies from the collections. Best wishes to all Bertie.

You asked about stick pins! You can buy a little packet of blank pins maybe from Joanna Sheen 's website or Julia Watts - Inky Finger Zone- she has an amazon store. They cost very little and then you use your own beads or buy some. I stick mine with Glossy Accents. I hope this helps a little. Love Myra
