Happily Ever After

Good Sunday morning all!  I thought I would do a double day based on the Happily Ever After die set.  For this first card, I selected a piece of milk card and embossed it with the Dotty Daisy embossing folder for background texture.  Next I cut four of the Belgian Borders out of milk card.  I cover black card with sticky adhesive sheets and cut the border outline pieces.  I peeled the backing paper off and attached the decorative border die to the backing piece.  I coated all the exposed adhesive areas with Ebony Ice for a bit of bling.  I added mounting foam to the backs of each of them and attached then to the edges of the embossed background piece.  Next I cut the Happy Couple out of milk card.  I cut another one out of black card and cut away just the groom and attached it atop the milk cut set. I added mounting foam to the back and added it to the centre of the framed background.  I cut the Happily Ever After die out of milk and black card and used it as a shadow and mounted it on to a milk circle backing with a thin black shadow.  I added pearls to the edges and corners and added milk and black mats to finish the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

For card number two, I inked the Victorian Tile embossing folder with a Clear Perfect Medium pad and letterpressed a piece of milk card.   I dusted it with gold mica powder which attached to the ink that was transferred while letterpressing.  Next I used the Double Pierced Noble Rectangles to make a multi layered frame using both milk and Vintage gold card.  I added mounting foam to the back of the frame and attached it over the letterpressed background.  I cut two of the die from the Happily Ever After set out of milk card.  I cut one in half and then backed the whole one with Vintage gold card.  I attached the two halves to the outside so the cut edge was attached to the sides of the frame.  I seated the single gold and milk die cut in the centre with some mounting foam.  I cut a circle of gold card as a base and added the die cut sentiment on top.  The card was completed with milk and gold mats.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Beautiful cards, love both but no1 just edges it with the happy couple.
Elaine, very happy to see Andreew feels more confident after his treatment due to the lovely nursing staff at his main hospital. That is as it should be everywhere. Glad you are feeling a little better too.
Tina, hope Peters blood tests come back okay.
Tracey, how did massage go, you seemed so excited. You deserve to be pampered.
Tress a, sorry it was not good news about your Mum, good that she has settled in the care home.
Norah, you are one epic knitter, there must be sparks coming off your needles.
I'm feeling a little better, the antibiotics have started to kick in, it is a 2-week course, so now in second week, thank you for well wishes. Work tried to take formal action against a colleague because she had 2 weeks off when her father died last Christmas and then had 2 days off 10 months later with gastro enteritis, and the worst thing is she is retiring next month. They have ruined her last few weeks.
Hugs to all poorly, missing friends and all on the blog.

Sunday Smiles to you Sue. What magnificent samples this morning. I love the way you have framed the first couple, I will admit to thinking as I scrolled down " Sue, this is so unlike you to show a sample where a border hasn't cut clean, and how can that happen anyway" then as I went back up and read you used the black ebony ice, it all became clear lol oh boy does that stuff take some talking to, if it's the same as my pot it's so statically self minded it sticks itself to whatever IT wants to as well as what YOU want it to stick to !! It's still clinging to the depths of the cream carpet in my little craft room and refuses to move and that's from about 2 - 3 years ago now so cover all spaces around you when using this as you'll keep being reminded of its presence for ever lol.
I think it's beautiful how sample 2 looks like a Victorian past time card, you have made it look so dreamy and romantic, it's really gorgeous and needs framing in my opinion. Talking of romantic and amazing, you will be off ya rocker if you don't observe the super moon tomorrow night its hard to put into words just how ore inspiring these super moon's are but tomorrow's is the biggest and brightest so far. All I can compare it to is when Jim Carey in Bruce Almighty lasoos the moon towards the balcony, lol it's totally unreal looking and stunning to see. So try not to forget, but I'm sure the news and weather forecasters will be reminding us of this stunning event. Here I am again going off side ways and forgetting this is a craft blog and not a chat room !!
So I'll apologise and send my usual hugs your way and thank you for two gorgeous samples that would amaze any couple. Have a good day xxx

I had a lovely surprise yesterday, and a shock also the old lady I told you that had died let me a bequest in her will,
Pam - so pleased you are feeling a bit better on the 2 week course of antibiotics.
Employers these days (as my late dad used to say) by the short and curliest. Everyone gets ill at some point.
June Smith - hope you are well and the walking is getting easier with physio.
Elaine - hope you do complain about hospital staff, patients to them are numbers not human beings.

Pam, can't believe your mean employer - did you say you were in the public sector? They're known as notoriously over generous so something not quite right there.
dragonswing - well done on your club win - whilst you're on a roll, did you buy a lottery ticket lol ?!!

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh how beautiful these two cards are today, both are amazing but No 1 does it for me, No 2 could easily be given as an anniversary card too, especially a golden wedding card, what do you think?

Pam how are you feeling today, I can see from your message above that things are improving, this is so good to hear. But what an awful thing to happen to your work colleague, this to me is very poor management of staff, they should clearly re-think their policy especially on compassion. Also just before her retirement, that is such a shame. When I retired I had the most wonderful day and evening which was all paid for by the company I worked for, in the afternoon I had a champagne reception for 100 friends and colleagues and then in the evening took over a big pub in the City of London and I had a celebration with over 500 people, it is something I remember with much love to this day.

Elaine and Andrew pleased that you have had better experiences with your lovely nursing staff at your main hospital and hope you feel much better soon.

Tina how long will it take for Peters blood tests to come back, fingers crossed it will all be good news.

Tracey, how wonderful to be pampered.

Tress a, sorry it was not good news about your Mum, good that she has settled in the care home.

Norah, well done to you, there must be sparks coming off your needles. Brilliant.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a welcome appearance of some of your best dies, they have succeeded in creating two stunning cards that would proudly grace any mantelpiece. I love the simplicity of card one, the colours are sophisticated and classic and the composition is beautiful. The couple are stunning and the card evokes class and romanticism. The colour palette of card two is rich and warm, would be perfect as an anniversary card, i love the mica powdered embossed background, its beautiful. Thank you for two truly inspirational, romantic samples of your great talent.
Feeling quite rushed today so this will be short and sweet i'm afraid. I've had a really busy day crafting, have almost completed three cards....unfortunately couldn't finish assembly because i ran out of 3D foam, can you believe that Sue!!!??!....feel very satisfied though can't help feeling slightly pressurised to complete so many more....my mum said if worst comes to worst then we'll buy some but that would be a travesty surely considering the amount i've spent on the festive release!
Sending healing hugs to June, Pam, Andrew, Peter and Sharon and anyone else suffering or in pain.
Tracy, good luck with your early start tomorrow, your a braver girl than me, I don't see that side of 9 o'clock very often:-)
Yvonne, sending huge hugs to you honey, hopefully we'll get to catch up in the next couple of daysxxx
Cuddles to my besties, so many it's getting hard to name you all! Take care, love you guys loadsxxxx

Hi Sue. Two stunningly beautiful cards today !!! I really love them both. The first one with the Wedding couple is fab !!! I love the borders you have used around the edges of the card and I really love the "happily ever after" word die to. I do like the font you have used for it. Your Dotted Daisiy EF is beautiful !!! Great design and layout of this card. The Belgian borders make a fab looking " apperture" for the rest of your design. There is just one thing I am not sure about and that is the black glitter you have used. I am not sure about using black for a Wedding card. It is an amazing card though !!! x x x
The second card is equally as beautiful as the first with the outside frame you have made in gold and the beautiful Lacey design of the " happily ever after" die set. Another fab EF that looks beautiful with the letterpress technique and brushed with gold mica powder - how beautiful !!! This card would make a fab anniversary card Sue. If I had to choose a favourite it would be the design and layout of the first card with the colour combo of the second card !!!
Thank you. Sending lots of love to you Sue from Tres x x x
